As long as Miles Teller is out of the running I can breath a little easier.

The fact that Axanar raised money using the brand with the intention of using it to build a studio for their own use seems to be the actual sticking point.
This plus they were paying themselves a salary with the kickstarter money. Thereby actually profiting from the “non-profit” fan film.
Don’t worry it’s a very minor point of the film. Hope you enjoy it!
You can thank George not only for the resurrection of Maul but also leaving him unresolved on the Clone Wars as well. This is basically clean up of one of the biggest leftover plot threads from the Clone Wars cancellation. As such, since you’re left with a living Maul, might as well square him off against Vader. Can’t really blame Filoni for that.
Predestination - under-the-radar Ethan Hawke time travel movie. I really wish it was better directed, because the story is the most complicated time travel story I’ve seen in a movie (even putting Primer to shame), but for whatever reason I wasn’t really drawn in. It felt a bit TVish. It’s a good movie, though. I’ll give it a rewatch soon. I’m picky about time travel movies, but this is one of the few I like (the other more modern ones being Primer, Triangle, Time Crimes, and The Jacket (not a fan of Looper))
Ever seen FAQ About Time Travel (2009)?
YouTube’s crappy compression eliminates a lot of the detail.
Personally, I love the suit. Definitely takes a lot of cues from the original Ditko design:

Oh and yes, they do use the original spider on the back.

I’m still behind on Carter because of roommates but hopefully I’ll catch up soon.

Also let us not forget the Bootleg Universe DIRTY LAUNDRY.
Throughout the film he keeps mentioning it and how he needs to fix it.
Really? I remember only one time, the “you probably don’t recognize me” bit.
I’ll be honest, it’s very likely I’m mixing my memory of the film with Poe to the Rescue.
Yeah but that comes down entirely to my own personal preference. Inside Out was more emotionally impactful but The Good Dinosaur hit all the right notes for me.
It combined Dinosaurs with Westerns while also fostering the same sense of peril you’d get from an '80s era Don Bluth production.
Stack onto that it was a road picture and had more beautiful art direction (in my opinion) than Inside, it ended up my favorite of the two.
But I certainly don’t begrudge Inside for snagging the nomination. It was the clear choice there.
I’m not saying it’s a bad film. But it’s the story of a spoiled upper middle class girl who throws a fit because she doesn’t want to move to San Francisco. Which, who could blame her? But still, it’s nothing groundbreaking.
Meanwhile, out of nowhere, Brazil produces this beautiful look at the life of a little boy growing up in a third world country. Doing so through his innocent eyes in a touching and brilliant manner.
It’s no contest. But the Academy went with the same old. At least Boy got nominated.
Throughout the film he keeps mentioning it and how he needs to fix it. Never noticed he did so offscreen at some point though.
They should have brought back the bow tie.
Stacked up against the other nominees, Pixar just didn’t bring enough to the table. Inside Out was decent but nothing spectacular. I would have actually preferred The Good Dinosaur to have gotten the nomination this year.
But of course, the voters don’t care about the animation category so they just picked whatever was most popular/whatever their grandchildren liked the best.
Fact is, and I hate to say this, Pixar has slowly been declining in quality over the years. John Lasseter always said they’d never do sequels unless there was a good reason and they’d found the right story. Now we live in a post-Cars 2 world and the future isn’t looking that bright.
I believe the Oscar appearance was done by that guy who made his own Threepio suit. Similar to how they’ll call up the 501st whenever they want Stormtroopers for public appearances.
While we’re on the subject, I thought Inside Out's win was an absolute crime.
Boy and the World was a far superior film with a more impactful and earnest story.
I’m tired of Pixar winning for just showing up.
Mad Max (Avalanche Studios, 2015)
What a fantastic game! Avalanche Studios should be applauded for this, their Magnum Opus. Terrific mix of vehicle and onfoot gameplay. The melee combat leaves a little to be desired but the rest more than makes up for it. The main mission storyline is great. They perfectly captured the brutal and visceral world that Max inhabits. I really hope they’ll make a follow up one day. Definitely recommended.
Definitely recommend the John Carter/Barsoom books. Been meaning to delve into the Lensman series.
I think they did for the 70th anniversary.
When it comes to old serials, VCI is THE place to go. I have their Buck Rogers release and it looks fantastic. DEFINITELY recommend it.
1-4-5-6, that way you keep all the reveals, and you even keep the Clone Wars mysterious.
Yoda.
