I wouldn’t mind a Temple of Doom Han Solo, out to seek fortune and glory.

This. If I do a fanedit, I’m definitely cutting the opening action sequence, I could not for the life of me tell what the hell was going on on screen, it was almost as bad as Taken 3 IMO.
Um, you’d cut out the inciting incident that sets off the rest of the movie?
Yeah, Bond was a poor example as he was a literary character originally. That’d be the same as comparing all of the Jack Ryans:
(soon to be added: Jim from The Office)
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Very rarely do I consider a film worth repeat viewings but this is definitely one of them. LOVED it.
Eh…I’m willing to give him a shot but I’m not immediately impressed. Still think Ingruber was the way to go.
Civil War is almost upon us here in North America. If you aren’t doing a marathon, I highly recommend you give this a viewing in preparation.
GREEDO SPEAKS
"Of course, in it said it all in the original script, we played in the scene in English and at the end of the scene, it reads, ‘Han shoots the alien.’ " Blake told the Daily News. “It’s all it says and that’s what happened. It was very painful.”
Besides, having Greedo fire first and miss from across a table, as has been the case after the original release, is sort of embarrassing.
“He was a bit inept wasn’t he?” quips Blake. "He’s a worse shot than a Stormtrooper. I don’t think Jabba had him under a pension plan let’s put it that way.
“It would be lovely to see them go back to the original version, I much preferred it, I must say. And it does give it Greedo a little more glory if he’s just blown away.”
^Lando could have died, we don’t really know yet. Schrödinger’s Lando, as I believe I called it in another thread.
Lando appears in one of the LEGO short films which are considered canon minus the LEGOy bits.
With all of President Ellis’ appearances as of late it got me wondering how long he’s been around. It felt like he’s been a thing for some time now. So I decided to look it up, his first appearance was only three years ago!
In other news, the Russo’s have been on a tear in the press junket. I’ve been seeing them pop up all over the place lately. Just today they revealed the Infinity War films are going to be retitled:
“The movies are two very different movies,” said Joe Russo, adding, “The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.”
For anyone feeling nostalgic, GOG just released Shadows of the Empire. This is probably the first time it’s been for sale in over two decades.
WHIH Newsfront Exclusive: President Ellis Discusses the Avengers
This thread feels a bit redundant. One dedicated to the DCEU and the wide spectrum of DC shows would have probably fit the bill better.
That said, I’ll also have to go with Fleischer’s Superman for the Man of Steel.
Gonna go with the 1967 Spider-man as the definitive on-screen portrayal.
Well you’re off the Christmas Card list.
From what I’ve seen of Mr. Bean he’s like Jar Jar in human flesh.
That is one of the most offensive things I’ve ever read.
Er…you know this thread is for all of that right? (Except DC =P)
Speaking of which:
The Punisher is back. Locked and loaded. https://t.co/nGKCa2taEV
With Marvel confirming the news via press release, Jeph Loeb had the following to say about the series.
We want to thank the fans who are clamoring for more of Jon’s stunning and powerful performance as Frank Castle from Marvel’s Daredevil. Now combined with Showrunner Steve Lightfoot’s compelling writing, we’re thrilled to bring Marvel’s The Punisher to Netflix.
The other half of this announcement comes via Netflix and here is what Netflix Vice President of Original Content’s Cindy Holland had to say about what made them green light the series.
Jon hooked our global audience with his performance as Frank Castle from the moment he stepped on screen in Marvel’s Daredevil, and we are looking forward to seeing more of him in this role under the vision of Steve Lightfoot.
As for the new showrunner attached to the series, here is what Steve Lightfoot had to say about joining the project.
For me, the complexity and unpredictability of Frank Castle make him an incredibly compelling character and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into his world. After watching Jon’s performance in Marvel’s Daredevil I could not be more excited to be working with him to further develop and progress the story of this anti-hero in a show of his own.
I’ll take Emmerich over Bay anyday.
Found an interesting Youtube channel. They make informative videos about the history of Star Trek.
Here’s one dedicated to all of the Trek spin-offs that never were:
