On the original 1979 TMP poster, Spock is drawn with a very somber contemplative expression of longing or seaking something. The Spock on the “Beyond” posted has his angry murder face on.

I think that’s just Quinto’s normal resting face, but I understand the confusion.

Yeah, he’s great in villainous roles but man do I hate his Spock.

I’m dying to watch the finale of AoS but I’m in a holding pattern with my roommate who I watch it with.

In other news:

Two-time Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Carol, “Cinderella”) joins Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum (the upcoming “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Jurassic Park”) who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Selma”) who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban (“Star Trek” trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”) who will add his might to the fray as Skurge.

Rounding out the cast for the film is three-time Oscar®-nominee Mark Ruffalo (“Spotlight,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “Foxcatcher”), reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk from “Marvel’s The Avengers” and Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."

Thor’s new cast members join returning stars Chris Hemsworth (“Rush,” “In the Heart of the Sea,” “Ghostbusters”) in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston (“Crimson Peak,” “The Night Manager,” “Kong: Skull Island”) as Thor’s adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Golden Globe® and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Idris Elba (“The Dark Tower,” “Luther,” “Beasts of No Nation”) as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; and Academy Award®-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins (“Silence of the Lambs,” “Nixon,” “Hitchcock”) again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard.

“Thor: Ragnarok,” the third installment of Marvel’s popular Norse Super Hero, is directed by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Taika Waititi (“Two Cars, One Night,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”). Kevin Feige will produce the film, joined by executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee.

Am I a Bully?
Time

It’s not a matter of kicking their butts. And sure, the first time you strike out at one and it’s not a decisive blow, you’re likely to get the snot kicked out of you. But that will more than likely be the last time they mess with you. Bully’s like easy targets, if they know they’re likely to face real resistance of any kind they won’t bother.

But the past is the past, c’est la vie.

A sad day in TV Land…

It’s the end of the road for TV’s Peggy Carter.

ABC has canceled Marvel drama Agent Carter after two seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The second of Marvel’s ABC dramas, while a critical favorite, was never a ratings breakthrough. The Hayley Atwell starrer earned a surprise second season renewal and returned as a “gap” show under former ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee.

After weeks of conflicting reports, leaving fans to wonder what would become of Marvel’s Most Wanted, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off set to star Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), the network has apparently passed on the series.

“We’re very proud of all the hard work, from Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski’s writing and producing to the incredible cast, especially the supremely talented Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, who we adore,” Loeb tells EW in a statement.

I wish they finished Star Wars: 1313
It looked like it was going to be the same quality as The Last of Us but set in the Star Wars universe and stars a young boba fett that wasn’t a Jango clone!

That game was about to turn into a mess. The stuff we saw of the game was what they’d managed to finish before George stepped in and had them trash it all.

Originally the game was going to star an original character and follow his rise in the underworld of 1313. That’s who you see in that game footage.

Then George stepped in and “suggested” using Boba Fett instead. Which meant scrapping most of what they’d done as there was a standing policy of “DO WHATEVER GEORGE SAYS”. It wasn’t George’s fault mind you, he just wanted to come in and make suggestions not commands.

But his handler put that policy in place which ended up killing a number of projects. As George would regularly role in every six months or so with radical suggestions that usually meant scrapping everything you’d done and starting over until his next appearance and then rinse and repeat.

Which is why we had such a long dry spell before the Disney sale.

Well there doesn’t seem to be any serious story-focused SW games coming out any time soon. The last proper one was original SWTOR in 2011. I am really not interested in any other kind.

Which is still being updated! There’s a huge ongoing story arc that they set in motion recently and it’s pretty epic in scope.

Check it out.

And here are the devs discussing their storytelling goals for it.

P.S. the epic backstory cinematic trailer

  • new characters are not developed properly, basically they’re not developed at all. I think they made a huge mistake that they didn’t do solo movies for Spiderman and Black Panther before this movie.

Everyone knows Spider-man and his origins. He really doesn’t need another origin story. I thought Black Panther was handled expertly. Everyone I know going in were indifferent to the character but by the time the movie was over they were instant fans and wanted more of him.

  • Spiderman. Not sure how anybody can like him. I am a huge fan of the character and the Raimi movies, and I hated Spiderman in this movie. He was almost as annoying as Jar Jar Binks. You are watching something which should be an emotional battle between close friends and the tone gets suddenly interrupted by Spiderman acting nervous, clumsy, or throwing some funny one liners. For the first (and maybe second) time it was quite funny, but as he kept on continuing I was seriously like “Shut the f up!”

Spider-man and Ant-man were much needed brevity to lighten up this otherwise very down and dour story. If it wasn’t for the flashes of levity we’d probably have another BvS on our hands.

  • Captain America was portrait as a complete asshole in this movie. I liked him in the previous movies, Chris Evans has portrayed the most charismatic superhero since Chris Reeves’s Superman, but in this movie he basically abandons all his friends, and his government to basically help a serial killer who used to be his friend decades ago. The real Captain America as developed in the previous movies would try to arrest him and trust the system. The new captain just fights his friends without any good reason. Even in the trailer Tony says with an confused voice “So was I …” when Cap says “He’s my friend”.

Captain America has seen just how flawed “the system” is throughout these movies. First the World Security Council ordered the nuking of New York City which almost cost the life of Iron Man to stop. Then SHIELD decided to develop a weapon system to wipe out would be terrorists before they could act. Followed by the revelation that SHIELD and a lot of the government had been infiltrated at the top levels by HYDRA. The system is corrupt.

Also, Bucky wasn’t just some friend of Captain America. Bucky was Steve Rogers best friend. He’d always been there for him when they were growing up, he was there for him when both of his parents died. They’re both dedicated to protecting the other “to the end of the line.” Don’t forget that throughout this film the UN had a strict kill order on him.

  • the villain. Oh yes, there’s a villain in this movie. Why? I don’t know. He’s the most pointless villain I have ever seen in a movie (ANY movie, not just MCU movies), this is the first time when I think that cutting out the villain out of the movie would actually improve the movie.

Zemo was a brilliant villain. All throughout the film he was a master manipulator pulling the strings that would tear the Avengers apart. He was an interesting departure from the verbose charismatic villain from your typical super hero film and far better than Lex Luthor ever was.
