I wouldn’t call Leslie Jones one of the best and freshest comics today.

A lot of people disagree with you.

This is the first I’m hearing of them.

If your perception was correct she wouldn’t be working in show business.

Leslie Jones is not funny and she’s barely in “show business.” The only acclaim to fame she has is that she’s a cast member on SNL. Their casting has been terrible the last few years. I challenge anyone to find an SNL bit of hers that is commonly hailed as hilarious. The only reason she landed Ghostbusters is that Feig needed a woman of color and so grabbed the only one he knows of being familiar with SNL.

If they wanted to get someone with some actual talent they would have gone after the likes of Yvette Nicole Brown, Donna Meagle, Aisha Tyler or Rosario Dawson.

That all said, I do feel bad criticizing Leslie in light of the recent racist harassment she’s received at the hands of trolls on twitter. No one deserves that.

I think his characterization was more important than his narrative arc, so I think dropping him into some new situation in the current canon is going to work out fine (whereas, for example, Kyle Katarn doesn’t have much reason to be there with the Rogue One crew around to steal the Death Star plans).

Luckily Kyle isn’t too intrinsically tied to the theft of the Death Star plans. He’s certainly known for it but in reality it’s just the easy introductory level to his first game. It’s completely separate from the plot of the rest of the game and his character arc. But that does bring up another point.

Whereas the Death Star plans aren’t that important to Kyle’s story, Dark Troopers most certainly are. And they make an appearance in Rebels this season. It would behoove them to cameo Kyle in some capacity for however long the Dark Troopers play a part this season. Given the huge internet reaction to the now sadly disproven theory that Rogue One was secretly a Jan Ors movie, they really ought to take that into consideration and bring the pair of them into the canon sooner than later.

And personally, I’d be perfectly happy with Kyle sticking to his original mercenary roots and leaving his force wielding days behind to Legends.

I know that he was a key player in organizing the Rebellion, but I’ve never seen anything to suggest he was actually a ranking member of that organization.

General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack and I’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

wasn’t the trailer supposed to be released at 8PM Eastern Time tonight? I’m not able to find anything.

No, the bit they showed on television was just the sizzle reel again. The trailer they showed the crowd at Celebration was just for the crowd at Celebration. Same as that awesome teaser from last year’s Celebration that they never officially released.

Jedit: They rarely think to check the smaller video sites
