Anyway, this is the ESB:R thread so, um...The Empire Strikes Back is one of my favorite movies! There, I said it!

Because Jarjar Binks was the first realistic digital actor to be inserted in a live action setting. So they were spending all their time and money on him. If you recall there was a CG yoda at the very end of TPM and it looks horrible. And it has been confirmed that they completely replaced Yoda in TPM, it was either Rick McCallum or John Knoll who confirmed it along with the fact that a future release of TPM would include the change. I think it was in an article on the official site shortly after ROTS hit DVD.

Speaking of video games, Tales of Monkey Island comes out today! =D

the colour mess of TPM had nothing to do with anything like this. It was just a bad transfer plain and simple. If you watch the featurettes and documentaries on TPM's dvd you can see that there is nothing wrong with the colouring in the clips shown in those, which are from an earlier transfer

 

Wow, that's sad. So the transfer that was used for the DVD is the same as the one used for the HD broacasts?

Finally some news on the full season boxset!

the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Complete First Season boxed set will include:

• Original aspect ratios - 2.35:1 (Cartoon Network aired episodes cropped at 1.78:1 for 16:9 displays)
• Digibook Packaging - with book (around 40 pages or so) featuring concept drawings and sketches
• Director’s Cut Episodes
• Commentaries
• 2D and 3D initial renderings

I personally think it would be great if you removed the whole Lego demo. It's just blatant advertising that takes up space and is in no way a special feature. If you could, it would great if you used that space to place some vintage trailers.

Hmm, I've observed that when there's a problem with just ESB, usually the solution is to completely remove the subtitles section as there are none for it. I know that's worked for myself and atleast a couple others.

No. That was never his intention, that was just the big rumor that started when people found about Mutt. He's stated already that he'd never do an Indy movie starring Mutt as that wouldn't be an Indy movie at all.

Anyway, that new trench shot looks great Ady. The final release can't come quick enough. =)

Not that I speak a word of french but based on that somewhat garbled english translation, I would say that Laurent seems to have mistaken you for Ady. Furthermore, they would like to congratulate you on your fine work on ESB:R and would be honored if you would include them in the credits. His credit would be listed as Laurent with his username/handle being loisorare.

I got one too! I'll have to try to remember that the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life. Whatever that means...

I literally LOL'd. =P As for these 4 episode releases, can't stand 'em. I was listening to a Q&A with a couple of the writers for the show and one of them mentioned that the episodes on the boxset are going to be a little different than the ones that aired. I took that to mean we'll be seeing the true aspect ratio but who knows it might even mean extended ones. Just as long as it's not another one of Lucas' stupid "Let's edit a few episodes together and turn them into movies!" crap. I hated that on the Droids and Ewoks dvd releases but the CW movie was just bad. Why couldn't they have used the malevolence trilogy for that?

The only change I would make is to put Luke above the title instead of Obi-Wan. It is Luke's story afterall, and with Vader and Kenobi at the bottom, you have the three most important characters in the film on the cover.

I would argue it's Artoo's movie. =P

Anyway, can't wait to hear on any progress with the wampa and the falcon ady. =)

Are you kidding?  That's the best part, the part that made my friends that I've shown laugh out loud at how awesome it is!

Actually I didn't like the change to the Snivvian but that's only because he repeats the exact same actions twice. It was like two blinks and a lip curl that he does and then a second later he repeats the exact same movement. It would have been more realistic to have him either do one or the other or start with both and then the second time only do one. There was one or two other examples of that but I can't recall specifically at the moment. Overall though I liked the enhancements.

Bologna. George has said that the next Indy if they made one would be INDY not Mutt. Harrison Ford just recently revealed that he's up for another and that they're all just waiting on George to come up with the next McGuffin.

They never had to be in the first place. The first 3D films used polarized lenses like we use today. It wasn't until the 1950's when they switched to the cheaper red and blue glasses.
