Best Star Wars artist there ever was, the only one who comes close today is Doug Wheatley.

I can't believe any of these moron SW fans who dress up can't answer why Luke and Leia kiss, yet they are siblings. Is every SW fanboy naive to the reality that Lucas was making this up as he was going along?
Let's hope he was, or if this was planned, that would be creepy as hell!
Not to disparage the man but he and Spielberg did also come up with the idea that Indiana Jones had an affair with Marion when she was between the ages of 12-15. Source
I'm curious, what ever happened to the fellow who wanted to create his own audio mix for ANH:R?
Actually someone already did!
Posted by: akalsey | June 28, 2010 2:32 PMUsing Tropo (http://tropo.com) I created a phone app that plays the recordings so you can hear them as they originally were meant to be heard. Call (714) 643-2997 to hear one recording at random. Outside the US? Use SIP at 9991443239@sip.tropo.com or Skype to dial +99000936-9991443239.
I think this revelation that it's the same set is important in that we've confirmed that center circle is solid.
Wow, that looks great. =)
Not to keep us off topic but just in the defense of the EU. It's first purpose is to explain and and expand upon the things we see in the films.
As for an explanation of how blasters work:
In particle-beam based blasters, like the E-11 used by stormtroopers, a small amount of high-energy gas moved from the heter valve to the chamber commonly called the XCiter. In the XCiter chamber, the gas was energized by the power pack, then passed into the actuating blaster module, which, when assisted by the components in the barrel, processed the now extremely high-energy gas into a compressed beam of intense energy particles, coupled with intense light, which generated the deadly high-energy particle beam fired from most blasters. In these blasters, the combination of superhot laser-light and a compressed bolt of intense energy particles formed the deadly bolt.
Blaster bolts usually dissipated in a small, but violent explosion of extreme heat and force upon contact with an unshielded surface, sometimes leaving blast points.
So anyway, how's the workstation coming along Ady?
Finally got a chance to listen to some of it. Simply amazing! I've never heard the Empire Strikes Back sound better. So many little flourishes and things I've never heard before, brings everything to life. One thing though, I tried burning it to a cd using the cue file but there was an error, apparently all of the files in the cue are listed as wave files. Is there a way I can fix that? Thanks again ABC, you hard work does not go unappreciated. =)
Just watched it, awesome stuff. I take it this is still before the final film grain pass on the new elements right? =)
Thanks ABC! As soon I get the chance this weekend I'll check it out and I'll throw in my two cents. =)
Starwars.com has posted clips of ESB in celebration of the 30th anniversary. Is this the same '04 transfer? I figure it would be but you never know when they might try and slip something past. The color looks better than what I remember the '04 to be but it's been a long time since I've watched it.
It's finished now? Sweet. =)
Awesome! Thanks for putting this together man! =D
Happy Birthday ady! =)

Does not look more overkill to me than having three star destroyers trying to catch the Falcon on Hoth when it fails to jump into hyperspace and almost colliding in the process... :) Or when a little later the whole fleet, Executor included, goes after them into an asteroid field... :) :)
The chase didn't happen on hoth, it started at hoth and ended at the asteroid field. Also the empirel fleet was already together so it made sense to have a few capital ships go after the Falcon, and the empire accomplished nothing by going into the field, except for alot of damage. If you notice during the course of the whole OT, every time they send a bunch of capital ships to go after one small one, nothing was accomplished. So what are you trying to accomplish by having more capital ships around the Executor during their escape from Bespine? The Falcon is going to get away no matter what, unless you want Ady to change that.
I really think you are to obsessed at making the empire so bad-ass looking over anything else. BTW, the empirel fleet never went to Bespine, Just Vader and the Executor. Thats why the Executor is the only ship by Bespine.

It doesn't really need a solution. Vader says to bring his shuttle, then we see him on his flagship. Anyone with half a brain can figure out that he flew to Executor in his shuttle.
If this kind of stuff really needs to be explained to the audience, then maybe Adywan had better add Ric Olie into the film...
well, yea it is common sense, but the audience has to be treated like they're brain dead.
It's this mentality that's destroying Hollywood.
I see this as an opportunity to promote what this site was founded for.
I'm goin'. I went to the last one alone, definitely seems like it will be more fun to go with friends.

I haven't actually read the script, I simply assumed this was true:

I had always thought it was his hand. But according to the script:
There is an ominous cracking sound from the base of the weather vane and a piece breaks off, falling into the clouds far below.
It is, here's the whole bit:
EXTERIOR: BOTTOM OF CLOUD CITY -- WEATHER VANE -- DUSK
Unable to hang onto the pipe, Luke tumbles out, emerging at
the undermost part of Cloud City. Reaching out desperately, he
manages to grab onto on electronic weather vane.
LUKE: Ben...Ben, please!
Luke tries to pull himself up on the weather vane but slips
back down. He hooks one of his legs around the fragile
instruments. All the while, a powerful current of air rushes
out at him from the exhaust pipe.
LUKE: Ben. Leia!
There is an ominous cracking sound from the base of the
weather vane and a piece breaks off, falling into the clouds
far below.
LUKE: Hear me! Leia!
Got it from here.
I had always thought it was his hand. But according to the script:

With all this talk of a US filming unit it has me very excited!!
Will we see Rebel Troopers and Snow Troopers fighting it out in the snow fields of Hoth?!?! It is something I suggested a long time ago (with others).
I do know that Lucasfilm originally had Snow Troopers in these scenes. A book (I lost years ago) called the Empire Strikes Back Notebook had storyboards as well as the script. In the story boards it had a couple of scenes of Snow Troopers running underneath the AT AT walkers.
Here is the book.
This is all very exciting and I wonder what Ady has truly planned.

I was able to track down a copy, there are some AWESOME storyboards in here. Here's just a couple:

Yeah there's a bit of a difference in speed between region 1 (NTSC) and region 2 (PAL). Here's an article that can explain it better than I can. This is the most pertinent part of it though:
A less obvious effect of this 4% speedup is that the audio for the film is both 4% faster and 4% higher in pitch. In musical terms, this equates to a rise in pitch of a little under one semitone.
I think it's a nice start but everything seems to shift a bit too much. I think it needs more depth to establish the right scale.
Hey Ady, I know you're probably already done with the Tauntauns but I just had to share this neat video I just found:

Your work on the Tauntauns looks great, are you doing it manually?
