I applaud the use of models over CGI. Though that crawl could use some work. I had trouble deciphering the last paragraph. I'm curious why the official crawl wasn't used:

Ultimate victory lies within the grasp of

the dreaded Galactic Emperor Palpatine as

the tattered remnants of the Rebel fleet

desperately seek sanctuary and time

to muster new allies.

A grim Luke Skywalker, reeling from Darth

Vader's revelation on the cloud city of Bespin,

ponders his own destiny and that of the Rebel

Alliance. Meanwhile, the search ensues for

Han Solo, captive of the notorious

bounty hunter, Boba Fett.

To deal a final blow to the Rebellion, Palpatine

has hatched a new plan of which even Lord

Vader is unaware. To aid him, the Emperor

has enlisted the services of the vast criminal

underworld that lurks within the

Shadows of the Empire...

Radioland Murders (1994)

I've been pretty sick the last few days and decided now was the time to finally mark this one off the list. It wasn't bad. Wasn't spectacular either. Great premise, interesting cast and a few great gags. While the hectic pace kept the whole thing interesting it still felt like there should have been more time spent on character development. Feels like Christopher Lloyd was wasted. Brian Benben was great at his part, it's a shame it was his last film role.

It would be pretty cool if it wasn't such an amateur feeling production.

In general I'd agree but there is at least one episode of theirs I can wholeheartedly recommend:

World Enough and Time

Great script and wonderful performance by George Takei that manages to carry the rest of the cast through. As for the others, while I haven't taken the time to watch it, I know for a fact that D.C. Fontana has written one of their scripts and I refuse to believe she'd turn out anything bad.

I love the idea of continuing adventures in the TOS era but I think it was a mistake to continue the adventures on Enterprise. She wasn't the only ship out there and it'd be fun to see what others were up to. As it is, now they have to live up to the legacies of legends. Not a situation you want to find yourself in.

Disney Acquires LucasFilm for $4.05 billion, Episode 7 in 2015, 8 and 9 to Follow, New Film Every 2-3 Years
Time

What I don't understand is how this is news. They said they were going to do yearly releases a while ago.

The next few years should be interesting. I think Episode VII has a decent chance of being good. The fact that Lawrence Kasdan is writing one of the non-episode scripts and consulting for the big features is a good sign too. So I think the first few films will be of a certain quality.

If they can maintain that quality over the years is an entirely different question. Should be interesting if they get to the point of adapting the books and comics as George suggested when the announcement was made.

Is anyone else annoyed by the fact that no one seems to remember the second half of the Live Long and Prosper greeting? Cause you know, it starts with "live long and prosper" but then the other person is supposed to respond "peace and long life."

I don't think it ever left TOS and it's bugged me on Enterprise with all the Vulcans on that show that you never hear it.

I first got into Star Trek with the Next Generation but quickly jumped ship once I discovered TOS. Man do I love TOS.

Last year I embarked upon a journey through all of Trek. A trek though Trek if you will...(You probably won't =P)

Like many of you when DS9 originally aired I skipped it. The premise didn't sound all that interesting to me at the time so I stuck with TNG. Later I'd jump into Voyager around the third season or so. When Enterprise rolled around I watched that for a while before losing interest.

Having now gone through all of DS9 I can safely say it is my second favorite Trek show after TOS. As I was watching everything as it originally aired it was so weird to alternate between DS9 and TNG. The characters in DS9 were so different and open. It left TNG feeling cold in comparison.

Voyager was really hit and miss. The first two seasons were just bad. It picked up steam in season 3 and was good for a while before having another stinker season. Ended on a terrible note.

Currently in season 2 of Enterprise. Really digging it. I remember being extremely annoyed by the fact that all of the technology looked more advanced than TOS. Was even more annoyed by the Klingons having ridges. Going through it now though I can look past that stuff for the most part. What I can't get past is how frequently they use T'Pol as a sex object. Rick Berman and Brannon Braga really come off as old perverts with the situations and things they put her through.

General Star Wars <strong>Random Thoughts</strong> Thread

Does anybody know what/who "Sith" really is supposed to be in Star Wars? I know episode 3 was called "Revenge Of Sith" but I don't know what that's referring to and I never really cared. Then I read in the Ep. 7 thread that someone doesn't want "any more Sith in the movies!" and I suddenly realized that I didn't know Sith was ever even in the movies. Can anybody clear this one up for me?

DARTH MAUL : At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge.

DARTH SIDIOUS : You have been well trained, my young apprentice, they will be no match for you. It is too late for them to stop us now. Everything is going as planned. The Republic will soon be in my command.

...

MACE WINDU : There is no doubt. The mysterious warrior was a Sith.

YODA : Always two there are....no more...no less. A master and an apprentice.

MACE WINDU : But which one was destroyed, the master or the apprentice?
