Just finished Rockstar's Bully for the first time. It was really fun.

Another year and another new batch of Scifi! Here's what we have to look forward to so far:
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
So what are you looking forward to this year?

the last movie I took her to see was the Muppet Movie & she had been put off movies because of the bad guys in that.....it was a relief that Frozen didn't have a scary antagonist, so hopefully thats her over that stage 10/10
This gave me pause but then I remembered THIS. That is scary.
Oh and please tell me you're introducing her to the Disney classics.
Funny this topic should come up, I was forwarded this relevant article this morning:

For this release, the Frontier dub through and through.
Aww, I grew up with the Titan dubs. =(

the broadening of the storyline with apocryphal portions, such as the council, the definitive attachment of the Necromancer to Sauron
I'm reading the LOTR trilogy for the first time right now. I was surprised that a lot of the stuff they've added in this adaptation are actually referenced as happening during The Hobbit in Fellowship of the Ring.
I know right? I love the Wilhelm.
I'm getting a little lost in all of the acronyms. Is the audio used for this the Frontier or the Titan dub?
They're also 100% DRM free.
Many have speculated this is Interplay's parting shot at Bethesda as soon they'll be losing the publishing rights to those titles to them.

Into Darkness, on the other hand, lacks the charm of the first film. It seems half finished.
Lindelof didn't do any of the writing for the first film. We also have him to thank for Cumberbatch being Kahn.
Why'd they put Troi in a red uniform? She's clearly a member of the sciences.

If you're going to depict a fictional city with buildings that defy the laws of physics, you may as well have it attack Gotham City or Springfield.
That reminds of the crossover fanfic I tried to write when I was in the sixth grade about Mr. Burns sending Godzilla to attack the Simpsons while they were sailing on the Titanic II.
And that reminds me of the fanfic I did write about a crossover between Godzilla, Pinky & the Brain and Gilligan's Island!

The Atom bomb is what inspired the original movie.
Actually it was the film THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS. They took that concept and turned it into an allegory for the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The problem with Zilla or GINO (Godzilla In Name Only) as I like to call him as he doesn't even deserve the zilla. Was that Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin decided to create an homage to classic American monster movies using a Japanese monster. It was a decent monster movie but it was not a Godzilla film in any way.
In fact, it's pretty much just a remake of BEAST with a different title. There are a number of scenes directly lifted straight from the 1953 classic.
Are you sure you're not making the same mistake they did with confusing him with Biggs Darklighter? Wookieepedia makes no mention of Wedge knowing Luke before the Battle of Yavin. They plainly state that he's Corellian in fact.
This is actually a different trailer than the one that leaked before.
This is the teaser that was leaked.
I think I liked the leaked one better but this new one certainly got me excited!
They seem generally confused whenever they try to do anything pilot related. In fact, wasn't their last goof on their facebook page claiming Wedge Antilles grew up with Luke on Tatooine?

They were shot in 1080p.
Holy carp! I had heard about them existing in a 1080p master, but that's crazy!
Did they just suppose the resolution of their monitors was the maximum the films would need to be for posterity? Who does that?
There was an article years ago with George saying that 1080p is good enough. That it about matches quality wise what you'd see from a projected 35mm image. I wish I could find that article.
They were shot in 1080p.
Motion Control is still utilized every now and again. I saw a special feature a while ago for the last Night at the Museum movie where they built a large miniature of the main hall and had a motion controlled camera move through it to create some zany flying sequence.
I wish they had just taken the next step and actually refilmed models for all of the replacement space shots.

WHO HATH SUMMONED ME?
I'm still bothered about how the Holiday Special is always classified as a Christmas special. It aired squarely in the Thanksgiving zone.
