What do you HATE about the EU?

Trek made an effort recently to make the old continuity fit better and the new movies don't contradict the comics. So, you are screwed.

Actually there's a pretty big discrepancy between the Abramstrek comic and films. In STID Kirk makes a big deal about having never lost a crewmember in the time he's been captain. Yet he lost crew in just about every issue of the comic leading to the film.

There's also the issue of the official tie-in game not agreeing with the official tie-in comic or film. Despite all three being written by the same people.

All Things Star Trek

She was one of my favorite characters on the show but this left a real bad taste in my mouth:

We had planned to see Terry Farrell in the flashbacks but she refused to let us use any of her clips. The way I see it is this: Her manager was informed that we were thinking of using Terry in a scene in the final episode. It would have probably been three hours of work... maybe four. The price they quoted us was too high for the budget. After all, this was a show where we had to cut out hundreds of thousands of dollars from the original draft.

Her manager was informed that we weren't going to be able to use Terry. And on top of it, the scene we had been thinking of for her was really not that germane to the plot. I think Terry's feelings were hurt. When it came to the issue of the clips, they again felt that they would prefer that we went a different way without using the character of Jadzia Dax. So we did. I wasn't happy about it. I'm still not happy about it. But it is a reminder that even Star Trek is just part of the great showbiz sludge.

Star Wars Episode III: Labyrinth Of Evil (Released)

I just had an idea. What if instead of dying from injuries, during her medical scan they discover that she has some kind of terminal condition that she had kept secret up to that point. It would help to intensify Anakin's tragedy as despite everything he did she was always destined to die.

Though I'm not sure how to convey that in the line or two that you have to work with.

Maybe something like:

"We discovered an inoperable mass in her cerebrum. The condition is terminal though complete determination of life expectancy will require further testing."

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * <strong>SPOILER THREAD</strong> *
Time

Anchorhead said:

It's been quiet over the holidays.  I need a fix.  Some leaked images, behind the scenes stuff, a teaser, a card with a character - something.

 How's this?

Oscar Isaac, aka ace X-wing pilot Poe Dameron featured in The Force Awakens teaser trailer, provided the following brief comments on a few TFA subjects via this article posted on Yahoo Movies.

On getting his hands on the script ahead of time and the secrecy surrounding it:

"They won’t even do that," Isaac, who stars in JC Chandor’s forthcoming crime drama A Most Violent Year, told Yahoo Movies. “You go to the place, and they have a room with cameras and you sit there and read the script. They’re incredibly protective, because nowadays, with however many hundreds of blogs and this and that, people are just ravenous for content. So because of that, there has to be such tight security around it. And it gets in the way of the process a bit, but it’s understandable.”

On the concept of creating plot theories based on leaked images and what was shown in the official teaser trailer:

"I can’t speak for the cast and crew, I can just speak for myself, but for me I thought, Don’t you want to wait so you can get the real thing?" Isaac said. "But it creates excitement for it. I don’t think these little leaks necessarily ruined watching the trailer. And also, the [plot theories] that get that formulated based on these things — they couldn’t be more far off-base."

George Lucas Interview Circa April 1977

Reading old George interviews is wonderful and informative, and you really get a sense of the genius behind the legacy. Then you realize half-way through that this is the same guy that made the prequels and you can't help but feel a little sad.

I love the George of old. It's sad that I am so mad at the George of now.

I am glad you typed it up, it was a good read.

I share the same sentiments and thanks!

With his retirement we haven't heard much from the bearded one. Last I heard he's still fighting to hold onto the land for his museum.
