I'm guessing that's just saying that they were the creators of the characters and original stories.

The official movie website does not mention them as writers of this new story. Neither does the official website for the teenage mutant ninja turtles (which is where I'd expect to find any information relating Peter Laird or Kevin Eastman to the story):

Original TMNT Confirmed For 360

If this has 4P online coop, I may just have to turn my 360 on for the first time in a month.

Damn. I wasted a lot of money on that game when it was in the arcades. I love the NES version of the game but it was hardly an accurate arcade port. Now it looks like I'll be able to actually play the real game at home. I'm definitely going to have to purchase an Xbox whenever the price drops. Uhg, not that I like the idea of giving Microsoft any of my money to help them throw their weight around in the console industry, but I have become addicted to Gears of War recently and Halo 3 should be a pretty good game. Oh well.

It's absolutely ridiculous to believe that a conspiracy involving our own government destroyed the World Trade Centers or crashed a plane into the Pentagon, if you approach the issue with an honest look at the evidence regarding what happened on 9/11 that is. All of the conspiratorial evidence that I've looked into is so weak that it's laughable. At best, all the conspirators have are some good questions, but if you dig well enough you can find good answers for all of them.

I laughed like crazy all the way through their riff for Fellowship of the Ring. Great jokes throughout. And that's despite the fact that I like that movie at each point.

How to be a SW fan

Good Lord. I think that guy is dead on with his ideas there. There wasn't a single thing he said there that I couldn't agree with to some degree. For instance, while I never hated the Ewoks and the way they killed Imperial troops and war machines so easily, I certainly don't like the way it was so simple-minded-ly executed on film. Now that I'm at the point where I've become extremely annoyed with George Lucas and his changes to the Star Wars universe, I've become more obsessed than I ever was before. Heh.

Strong language is totally and completely valid when attached to that concept.

By the way, Weyseed, whatever happened to the part of your signature that said something to the effect of "George Lucas leaves lightspeed cockpit views to the OT. *explodes*"? That was pretty funny to read. I also like everything in your current signature (except for "Don't push me, cuz I'm close to tha edge... I'm tryin not to lose my head... " since I'm not sure what its referring to).

The Pod Race section of the riff track was great. Especially with the introductions of the racers. The latter portions of the race had jokes that were more sparse, but I think it is expecting a bit too much to want a new, great joke every few seconds with only two guys working on the material. Also, I remember many MST3K episodes that simply made complaints at points. Usually the humor was in the way the critical lines were delivered.

Exactly. I never had an issue with that droid filling the screen because I never noticed it as a problem. After having seen the movie a hundred times that droid had never stood out to me. It just seemed natural to the film and I was always thinking about Luke, Ben, and the droids. Now the zoom of digital creature flesh makes me think I'm suddenly watching a video game or who knows what. That's not merely a chaotic, foreground obstruction, with our mind's still dwelling on our heroes, it's the actual focus of that movie in that moment.

quit wasting your time on Star Wars!

Hah. Those were pretty good ones. Empire was better than Star Wars, but RotJ was the best of the bunch.

My favorite one of these is still one that I saw on Youtube for Episode II though. Basically just showed Anakin and Padme rolling in the grass like retards and then it switched to Jedi running into laser fire. That's practically all you need to know to get the point of that whole movie.

American Attitudes (foreigners welcome)
Time
I'm not foreign to the US, but I don't believe #12 is the most common view in the US. Among successful professionals it might be, but when you look at the amount of money this country wastes on giving out substandard/dumbed-down, "higher" educations to absolutely everyone and the amount of time the average person wastes on TV/movies, you could almost argue that the most popular viewpoint is the opposite of #12. It probably just isn't voiced in a conscious way or a truly appreciative way. (Though I will say that it is strange how the educational/aesthetic standards are often so low despite being such high demand. Perhaps that reflects a paradox of some kind.)

Otherwise, a few of the other opinions I could also nitpick as being the dominant US viewpoint. If I have the time I'll type up more.

I think Windows is written in C and assembler for the most part. Sorry if I sound dense I'm just not following you. I mean, DOS was a looooong time ago, and it would be hard to say that they're STILL profiting from it in a technical sense. I guess I just don't see what the problem is with patenting a programming language.

First, don't consider me an expert on operating systems or software programming. I just know that the copyrighted, source code for DOS was very important to solidifying Microsoft's dominance. Even Windows 95/98/ME all sort of ran on top of DOS as a boot loader. However having a patent on the source code works, the basic Windows API (heh, gogo wikipedia!) that the most popular PC programs used to run on computers was then hard to emulate or reproduce (at least for average PC customers like myself). That means I basically had to buy a Microsoft system whether or not I wanted its unreliable environment, one-size-fits-all add-ons, or other crap. Sure, Microsoft did stray from DOS with NT, XP, and now "Vista" but its such a dominant company now that they don't have to worry so much about losing the top position in the market. (I also remember something about how the complexity of Windows and the way that Microsoft had all the secrets to keep each new version working with older software [even when it was messy software] helped ensure that the competition could not run the same programs as easily.)

As for the GUI, it was Xerox's mistake to give away its hard work. Its not like Steve Jobs snuck into their facilities and stole something that Xerox was trying to keep private. They allowed their ideas to be seen and he simply took them because they were really good. I see no highly aggressive business tactic there.
