Since I've bought my Wii through camping out and risking hypothermia, I've been to WalMart twice on a Tuesday just as they put Wii's in the display case. First time, there were 3 and were gone within 5 minutes! Second time there was one on display at noon...

Nope...US.
It helps to learn when retailers put their stock out, as often they have Wii's unadvertised and it's just the luck of the draw.

I know it sucks - the only advice I can further offer is to watch the flyers mid-week, and at some point you will see Wii's advertised for a Saturday or Sunday, then go really early to the store.
That's what I had to do a couple of weeks ago, and it's totally worth it. My wife was actually really supportive of it too, she wanted the Wii as badly as I did!

I'm currently listening to Nintendo's Sound Selection Volume 1 - Peach Healing Music, which collects some of the most relaxing Nintendo music. It's amazing, and the music for Animal Forest and Animal Forest E+ is absolutely awesome, and I want to play the game. I've played Animal Crossing, which was a delight, and now I want to check out the original based on the music alone.
BTW, if any of you gamers don't have this album, I strongly urge you to check it out. You can fall asleep to the music it's so nice...

Whomever designed this assignment, using decidely xenophobic generalizations and anti-American jargon, with questions and statements full of assumptions and typically arrogant European disdain expects your opinion, which, to be fair leaves no room for disagreement? These statements are what are called "loaded questions."
This is just another excercise in some liberal minded, pseudo-intellectual wank-fest. Expect someone else to come along and fix your problems through socialist policies and programs, rather than standing up to be counted and taking respsonsibility for your own actions.
Hey kids! Let's all gather 'round and bash America and look down our noses at the country which has provided us with all of the necessary economic and social tools to enjoy this charmed lifestyle of ours.
Tell your esteemed professor something for me, would you? Tell them the Earth shattering revelation that not everyone hates America, some of us actually love the country, the culture, and their way of life. The fact is that wrong or right, they won't take it up the ass like some snot nosed Eastern European academic.
Oh, and by the way - tell the genius that devised this little ruse that they spelled exceptions wrong.

I wonder if this music glitch is due to the Wii (or the GC) accessing a memory card/internal memory as opposed to the cartridge directly?
Also, I assume that the Wii version is the one with the non-Muslim offensind symbols and altered Fire Temple music - I'm only just past the Deku Tree so I don't know yet, but I'm guessing.
The N64 version I have is the one with the original music and symbols, but Ganondorf has green blood. I think it's the second batch released after the initial Gold Collector's cart, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll post up any differences I notice here.

There's no reason to "hate" anything. Every version of the Star Wars movies can peacefully co-exist. It's crazy, but it's true.

Other than that, I've made some progress. I finally got the sail and am learning how to handle the boat. The nav system is...ok, though a little frustrating. The environments are BEAUTIFULLY rendered...makes me want to dive in for a dip. The only GC game I've seen that is better in terms of the environment is SMSunShine.
This is the only Zelda game I've played since the original, and it's been difficult for me to make the jump from 2-d "overhead" view to 3-d third-person. I miss the original music and some of the sound effects, but on the whole the game is pretty good. I thought that after years of playing more realistic games on pc that it would suffer, but I was wrong.

Yeah, Wind Waker was a toughie to get used to. It took me a good hour just to get myself acquainted with the camera - but stick with it because it pays off. It's an amazing game.
Did anyone else download OOT off of the Wii's VC? I played it for about an hour last night and noticed that when you press start to go into the save/item menu, the music glitches a tiny bit, like there's a crackle on it which is not a problem on the N64.
Also, is this the Master Quest version? I played through OOT on the N64 in December (it's been a while since I fired up the Master Quest disc) and last night I noticed something seemingly different. It's way harder. Could just be the controller, but I noticed that when you first leave the Kokiri Forest to visit the Deku Tree, the Deku Baba that attack keep growing back. I thought that in the original version you killed them and they didn't come back until you left the area...

The time surrounding them was amazing, especially for Star Wars fans. The anticipation of seeing a new Star Wars movie overshadowed anything negative about them.
Anyone that went to a midnight showing of any of the 3 can tell you that the electricity in the air was intoxicating, and the buzz coming out of the theatre having just seen a new Star Wars movie was amazing.
Let me remind the Prequel haters of something - in the theatre, when people saw each Episode the first time, there were cheers and claps and laughs in the right spots.

How's this?
I bought the game in 1998 for my N64. Sold it in 2001 to finance the Gamecube @ launch.
I bought the Gamecube Version a few years later with the Master Quest...but I still missed the original version.
This summer I bought a N64 and a sealed copy of Ocarina on Ebay. It is glorious.
Tonight, I plan on downloading it from the VC on the Wii along with Donkey Kong Country.
I'm crazy like that.

Members of the Academy vote, so much of the Awards are politically, socially and economically movitated. I love them for what they are - a celebration of film. I don't need an Awards show to tell me what is best.

Also, they were just laying in wait, as George Lucas was still this golden boy that had at least 5 movies in the top ten all time blockbuster list, and they were whiffing for the first scent of failure so they could pounce.

There are a lot of great fan preservations you should check out, as the Lucas bashing is getting really, really old around here.
Also, you're new here. Statements like this:
