I really thought the SEs were a load of fun. It was a couple years after the DVDs came out that it occured to me LUCAS WASN'T JOKING. He really meant to take the OT away from us. It was unthinkable.
I found this site not long after.

Is there anyone else who loves Sam Witwer? The guy always gives 110%, and you can tell he loves what he's doing. An awesome guy.
My one complaint, however... Daniel Logan. Ugh. Ugh. I can't "ugh" enough. He sounded terrible. I'm sorry, but Temuera Morrison was enough of a stretch for Boba, but I can't take Logan. His performance was just bloody awful. He had way too many lines, as well. Ugh. I never want to hear him do Boba's voice ever again.
I didn't recognize Witwer's voice, but was thinking "this guy is a great voice actor, so much character."
And IIIICK. To put it simply, I would rather not hear Daniel Logan voice Boba Fett again either.

That looks heckuva cool.

I dont know if this was discussed during my hiatus, but DARN this is awesome. A full cast audio drama they did live at Celebration VI, now released as a cleaned up audio file.
Great story. Set right after Star Wars, it's a great fun Han and Chewie adventure, like it's taken right out of my childhood imagination.
The tool on Forcecast said he and the writer of this have been petitioning for a radio drama of the PT, and this is there first success on that field. Lets hope so.
If you got a 1/2 hour, you need to listen to this. If you like the OT, do it! If you like the radio dramas, do it! If you love freedom, do it!
My students (high schoolers) were talking about this at lunch, and all had some version of "I'd mob up on the gun store" or "I'd mob up on WalMart"
("mob up" is apparently slang for "loot")
I asked them if they really thought they'd be the only people in a greater metropolitan area of 100,000 to think to rush to those places, and they told me yes, most people would just run away.
Ah, to be 15 and know everything again.

... , as well as an original villain called the Burned Lord, a figure partially inspired by the Joker, whose aim is to consume the galaxy in a Force-induced inferno.
I think (didn't play the game) that the Sith Emperor had a similar goal in the SWTORMMORPG.

TheBoost, I believe it is exactly as the title of this thread reads, with no colon. From what I've read, the reason is because they wanted to avoid Roman numerals like the TOS-based films did, as well as avoid colons like the TNG-based films did. Kinda self-limiting, I know, but their reasoning makes sense.
I guess. I'm looking forward to the sequals:
Snark aside, movie will probably be good.

TheBoost, when was anyone ever raped in the movies???
Oh hey, good point. When did Anakin rape his dad? Did I miss a Special Edition version or something?
Sorry, I think I got to paraphrasing "Alice's Restaurant"
Is the title "Into Darkness" with "Star Trek" being the series,
or are they taking a "Star Trek" that goes "Into Darkness"
The latter sounds really silly to me.
Just finished this book.
LOVED IT.
I’ve rather enjoyed the entire “TOR” series of novels, mainly because outside the continuity of the films, I was never sure how it was going to end. Also, each novel has been a stand alone tale, without the long drawn out decompressed serialization of the recent EU.
On top of that, this particular book was very Jedi light. The villain was a Sithy, and there was a Jedi sidekick, but the main character was a no nonsense superspy who didn’t take orders from some desk jockey!
At first I was bothered by a large leap in the TOR timeline since the last novel, which was apparently covered in the comics or in the actual MMORPG, then I decided I didn’t care, and this was a rip-roaring adventure right up my alley.
I heard this is the end of the TOR novel series, but hope that’s not the case.
It’s kinda fun that a major backstory point is from the TOR trailer about fighting in the mountains (“Hope”) and the narrator of the audiobook even gave an impression of the narrator of that preview video.
SPOILERS
And holy cr@p! It had a happy ending! I thought Star Wars was all about perpetual bleakness and moral ambiguity. Glad I was wrong.

Personally, I think Vader would have been a far better ruler than Palpatine. He probably would have abolished Palpatine's xenophobic decrees and allowed non-humans equal rights within the Empire, wouldn't have committed or sanctioned any genocidal crusades, and probably wouldn't have had planet killing super weapons like the Death Stars built. He wouldn't be entirely benevolent, but he wouldn't be the Space Hitler his master was.
I'm curious what about this friend-betraying, child-slaughtering, father raping, daughter-torturing, Force-choking, sand-hating beast gives you the impression he'd be in any way benevolent.
Unless that post was your human sarcasm. I always have trouble with that.

People need to get the hell over it. McCallum was a line producer, a production manager. He didn't involve himself much (if at all) in the creative decisions of Star Wars. It was simply his job to keep the productions on schedule and on budget. Of course he was going to talk up Lucas and the movies in interviews. Exactly wtf was he supposed to say? "This movie is the biggest lump of crap on a stick without the stick since Grease 2 or Jaws 4 but you should still totally go see it"?
This. Seemed like a skilled producer because he produced some complicated productions. He was paid to execute George Lucas's vision with George Lucas's money.

Bonus video. I never knew you could do all that with just one instrument, that's crazy. Reminds me of all the 90's Star Wars video games... ah, nostalgia...
That's awesome! And I found the opening theme for my audio drama!
Jedi would have to use the force to PREVENT things from flying into their hands. Everyone else would be crippled by small objects constantly speeding through the air and landing in their grasp.
Did you know that the WWF was once sued by Marvel Comics when they billed the man on the right of this photo as "The Incredible" Hulk Hogan.

Vader would have plunged the galaxy into unending civil war, with a constant disregard to individual planetary sovereigns. Rebellions would rise to fight the Empire, but Vader's total lack of guilt for murder would make it impossible for compassionate people to win, especially diplomatically. Vader would be a black hole, enveloping ever star system and galaxy possible. Considering his origins, he needs a continuing driving force to maintain his evil. Without it, I think he would fall into a deep depression and be usurped by those working under him.
Totally afree.
I think the long term escalation of Vader's need to oppress and destroy his enemies as his hatred and evil grows would have eventually led Vader, in his older age, to want something like a Death Star.
Like a junkie, he'd eventually need that level of sheer, near omnipotent evil, to get his fix.
Opressing and destroying your enemies is not evil, if your enemies just happened to be armed wartime rebels, who are traitors that are commiting treason against the state.....
Gotta disagree with you there. As a rule, oppressing people is bad. And since Vader is end-all-be-all evil (even by his own definitions) then his enemies are more often than not going to be justified in their resistance to them.
And while yes, there is the difficult line where one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter (go Red Dawn!), in this post Enlightenment era I think we can agree that a fascist dictatorship headed by DARTH F)(&)$#G VADER doesn't exactly have the mandate of heaven.
WARS
Ep VI
Why Is It So Damn Dark?
It is a time of extreme cold in the GALACTIC REPUBLIC. As the Heat Death of the Universe approaches a band of intrepid Jedi Knights sit on their frozen planet in pitch black, and contemplate entropy.
I'm almost as excited to see this visual breakthrough as I am to see "The Hobbit." Who's with me?

the filtered part is just a ring mod followed by a highpass, mixed with a little static noise.
That sounds AWESOME. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks. You saved me a lot of time, and the cost of a short wave radio. :)
My parent's first date was to see Star Wars, so I didn't get to see that.
Had all the records and storybooks, so my memories are a little muddled, but I believe I first saw Star Wars on HBO once or twice when I was maybe 6, so I never had as strong a memory of it until we got in on VHS later in childhood.
We had a taped copy of ESB off of HBO that my brothers and sisters and I watched until it shredded.
Have no clue when I first saw Jedi. Dad says he took me to the theater, but I was four so I don't recall.
