My ideas for the hologram footage possibilities...

- Perhaps something from the SW Christmas special? There is so much there to choose from. I recall at one point Chewbaccas' dad Itchy watching the equivalent of Wookie porn featuring Diane Carroll. Maybe just that segment? Princess Leia singing is also pretty horrendous.

Oh heck yeah! That would totally work.

See I love this movie, and I love it the way it is, so for me this is a terrible idea, maybe some might like this approach, but definitely not me, but I really, really hope someday this gets a blu-ray release and it is exactly how it is right now on DVD, don't touch a thing.

Well, if that's what you and everybody else wants, then I can cancell it. To tell you the truth, after I posted it, I thought "what if people won't like this idea?" But whatever, if that is your request, I'll honor it.

What if it show a scene from one of the worst movies of all time. I'd pick Son Of The Mask. That movie is just, well, I don't even consider it a film what-so-ever. The story-plot is stupid and the animated baby just looks creepy.
Then Frink would have to own "Son of the Mask", and no reward is worth that.

True, quite true. Didn't think of that. Well, what if the hologram was just of Jar Jar saying his uncut lines from the previous films? Here's how the scene should go:

  • Obi-Wan: Wait, Master. There is something I must know.
  • Yoda: If into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find.
  • Obi-Wan: I must know the truth, Master.
  • OBI-WAN TURNS ON THE RECORDING. JAR JAR APPEARS.
  • Obi-Wan: Oh no, not good.
  • Jar Jar: Oh, mooie-mooie! I love you! Ohhh, noo! Wesa dyin' here! Mesa no tink so. When in trouble, Gungans go to sacred place.
  • Obi-Wan: It can't be...It can't be...
  • Jar-Jar: Exsqueeze me. Yousa tinken yousa people ganna die?
  • JAR JAR THEN LET'S OFF A "ABBA-DABA-DABEE" SCREAM, LIKE THEN ONE WHEN THE SUB GETS BITTEN BY THE GOOBER FISH.
  • Obi-Wan: I can't watch any more.
  • OBI-WAN THEN TURNS IT OFF.

Oh course, you could add in more if you want. Maybe some where Obi-Wan turns it off and it comes back on, so he turns it off and it keeps turning on again and again.

Idea & Ideas Wanted: for a 'The Black Hole Revised' edit...
Time

How many the old 1979 Disney film “The Black Hole”? If you don’t know, it’s basically Disney’s answer to Star Wars. Now, I must say that the effects are pretty good for the time, not as good as Star Wars, but still good. Watching the film again a few times recently, I realized that a few mistakes were in the film: A crew member can be seen, objects change places in the same scene, all the usual stuff. So I’ve decided to go in and fix those mistakes as well as improve the effects. Here’s a short list of some of the changes:

  1. The robots will sound more like robots.
  2. Ship engines will be fixed to look better.
  3. When V.I.N.CENT and Maximilian fight, more sparks and wires will shoot out of Max.
  4. End Credits: All who worked on the film will be mentioned, all those who were uncredited will be given credit.
  5. End Credits: Credits will be inserted for all who help out in this project.
  6. Erasing all the cables that support the flying robots.
  7. The star fields will be enhanced.
  8. Taking out the whites of the robot’s eyes. (suggested by Bingowings)
  9. Toning down the colors of the robots to make them less like cartoons. (suggested by Bingowings)
  10. [more to come]

If anybody has any other ideas, feel free to tell me. All help will be welcomed.

Well, I've never seen it, but I've watched those youtube reaction videos. That's how i know the music. Please don't think of me as some kind of pervert.

WAIT!!!!! Isn't there a secret on the ROTS DVD that deals with a rapping Yoda? What if Kenobi turns on the hologram and sees the rapping Yoda and then says his "it can't be" and "i've seen enough" lines.

This is how the security hologram scene should go. Yoda says his "pain is what you find" speech, Obi-Wan says "I must know", then he turns of the hologram and we hear the 2-girls-1-cup-music. We see Ob-Wan look at it and he says his "i can't be" and "i've seen enough" lines and then he turns it off. Just be sure to no show any of the porno footage.

hey, it's gross but funny when you think how it would turn out in the end.

Out of the Prequel Trilogy, Episode I is the best in the sense of models. They actually built ships and vehicles. Which is cool. If you were acting in the movie, you could actually say that you sat behind the wheels of a pod racer. Now all they do is have somebody sit on a blue cloth and act like their flying a ship, and they just animate the fighters.

When you film with physical models, you feel like you're part of the scene. And even if you can't get the ship model to look like it's flying correctly, it at least looks real. What looks better? A model that doesn't have have quite the right movement but looks real, or a ship that flies correctly but looks completely fake? I personally like the first choice.

Where would be the fun in that?

Really liking the models :) Its amazing how well Ady has been able to blend these into his edits. Gives me a lot of hope for AotC and RotS, which are seriously in need of actual physical elements.

I agree 100% on this. And I'm sure everybody else does as well.

The Nerd... come on, man. I keep trying to jump in and joke around a little bit to diffuse the tension from some of your posts, but you make it difficult.

Yes, the concept was "slightly" amusing, but look around and embrace the tone of the forums.

You're going to find a difficult crowd for blatant humor and unresearched arguments. The people working on this project are very detail oriented, to the point that most people would term it obsessive.

It's always nice to have new members, but sometimes it's good to take a step back and read the posts from other people to get a sense of how everyone will react to what you say. Also, don't ever try and present your opinions or assumptions as fact - they will tear you apart. I know, I've been there :P

So really, to avoid any more negative interactions with people around here, consider my advice. Sometimes it is all of us who are in the wrong, but face it: There are more of us and we're bigger than you.

PS: When trying to determine what is acceptable and not acceptable, please ignore TVs Frink. He's special.

You mean like joking about the Wampa cave?

This is the complete Wampa sequence. As you can tell, Adywan has done it once again: kept the original tension build-up and surprises us with the terror of the wampa. Please note that the green screen background in some of these new wampa shots are not finished, Adywan has confirmed that he will replace them with something.

Luke reaches for his light saber

We see a small glimpse of the wampa

Luke gets his lightsaber and breaks free

The wampa rushes in for the kill

To make it more kid-friendly, Luke slices at the ceiling, causing a rock to fall and hit the wampa on the head

Luke rushes out of the Wampa cave

These next few new shots are just amazing pieces of work.

The Wampa starts to get up

Luke runs over a snow hill

The Wampa makes his way out of the cave

Luke sees the wampa behind him and he continues to run

The Wampa climbs on top of a mountain and sees that luke is to far way to try and catch so he lets out a roar of anger

Luke runs into the blizzard

Man, Adywan, your new costume looks really amazing. It must have taken a long time to make. Can't wait to see what you do with the Rancor. :)

IMO I don't like it. I agree with all of Adywan's changes up 'til now. But SW should always be child friendly, his new Wampa is so mind bendingly scary that it could potentialy traumatise younger children ;-)

I know right? I literally fainted when I saw this new Wampa for the first time. Oh, I'm going to have nightmare tonight.

(But, I guess George Lucas would say "this is the how I've always invisioned the Wampa to look.")

I don't want to harp on about the dripping icicle but if you think about sound in the wampa cave. The sound is the main problem.

This is something that I've always found wrong, the no sound in the cave i mean. Snow winds and cave sounds can be made simply by setting up a recording device and running your hand over the carpet, using a tooth brush on a slab of wood, recording a sound (and turning the sound down). Combine these and BOOM!!! You have a snow storm. Though, more sounds may need to be recorded if you want new sounds in the storm.

I was not trying to be full of shit. To me, the wampa cave seemed logical, but I now see that I was wrong. So this topic of discussion ends here.

Where on earth did you get that number for the temperature of Hoth or that flawed logic on how ice works? The ice would be melting because of the heat contained inside the cave being emitted by Luke and the Wampa. Secondly, lighting a match wouldn't suddenly make everything that much warmer. Third, the ice walls in Echo Base should be wet, but not completely melted. Ice works to contain heat - that means it can remain cold from the freezing temp outside whilst containing the heat inside, without melting the wall. People light fires in igloos that reach over a 100*C, and the igloos remain in tact AND contain the heat inside. If you sit in a car in the winter time, eventually, the windows fog up and the car gets warm because of people's body temperatures. Thing of how much heat the Wampa alone gives off if it can survive on Hoth.

That temperature was just made up, lets say it's just a little exaggerated. The wampa lighting a match was just put in for comedic effects.

I call myself "The Nerd" because that's what people in high school/college nicknamed me because I was at all 6 SW films on opening day, I was actually first in line for each.

How were you at all six SW films on opening day by the time you were in high school?

So he was in high school from 1997 until 2005? Yay eight year plan!

fishmanlee said:

You forgot the "/college" part.

Laserschwert said:

Also he didn't claim he already was in high school when he went to see the films.

For Episode IV-VI I was in high school. I was in 9th grade when the first film was released. I was a Senior in 1980. So do the math there. I went to college for 4 years. During those four years, ROTJ was released and that was my 3rd year at college. Now the part where I said "I call myself 'The Nerd' because that's what people in high school/college nicknamed me because I was at all 6 SW films on opening day" I mean that the name "The Nerd" has stuck with me ever since high school and college. Whenever I chat with one of my old buddies, they always call me "The Nerd". Is anybody still confused?

Thinking about the Wampa cave and that it will be take back to more it's original state...

The main thing that bothered me is that the Wampa got his arm cut off from the shoulder and Luke never did and overhead downward or upward vertical swipe with lightsabre.

It was more of a horizontal swing which would have never managed to cut the creature in that way we see and also when you take into account it's size... His Hand being lobbed off would be far better than his whole arm.

*Edit*

Ok cool that awful scene is being cut thank god might be good to see the shot of his head roaring again at this point where he attacks luke and the taun taun but with a cave background.

A possible way to add in tension and keep the SE music score would be using dripping icicles as a device for scenes of the wampa being cut... It's like a clock or constant but accentuated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImkEZxAr9wU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0iPpCcAKHE

This may work very well to achieve a tension similar to the original or improve upon the original whilst preserving the SE score or just be a clever trick to show even less WAMPA. But I am certainly looking forward to this monster moment this may even be a better start to the sequence.

I'd even go as far to say the awful shot from the original where we see part of him walking would be better only seeing a bit of fur and some steamy breath.. or something like this..

Better he springs out of nowhere like he did before.

Better stock footage that is free to use of Icicles melting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN4iWYsYzBs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2In-j3hdZU0

even if only to help animate the cave a bit better visual enhancement

We don't need melting icicles. Hoth is -3,000,000*C. Why would ice melt in the Wampa's lair? Unless the Wampa lit a match, there should be no melting ice. If we have melting icicles in the Wampa's lair, them Echo Base should be melted from all the heat from the machines and wires/cables.

During the climax of the Battle of Yavin, when the Millenium Falcon comes roaring towards the camera from out of the sun, have it be blazing away with both gun turrets the whole time. This way, Vader's wingman can be trying to dodge the laser fire that just killed his buddy, instead of crashing into Vader in a blind panic.

It makes Han's return a lot more dramatic (right now it seems like he just fires a single well-aimed shot and dumb luck takes care of the rest) and eliminates a logical inconsistency, since Vader's wingmen would most likely be elite pilots and not prone to such stupid mistakes.

I never got the sense that his wingmen were HIS wingmen.  In the DS scenes just prior, Vader turns to two pilots walking by and says "Several fighters have broken off from the main group.  Come with me."  He just recruited the first two pilots that were handy at the moment.

There are two possibilities to this: (1) The two pilots were part of Black Squadron and they were waiting for orders, or (2) they were in fact just random pilots not part of Black Squadron.

Why do you have to adjust the credits at all? Why not just leave them alone?

Well, I've thought about it and I want to change them to now include uncredited cast/crew members, as well as insert credits for anybody who helps out on it. Whether it's an idea, a video clip, etc. I've now updated the # in the list explaining the credits.
