And at 7:55, maybe the medical droid in the background could move a little bit?

Yes please! I never liked that the droid just randomly shuts itself off.

"Well if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?"

Its just a droid what else can do?

-Angel

It's not that I don't like that it turns itself off, per se, I mean that it shuts off between shots, so right after Luke got his new hand, the medical droid is already off. I'd at least like to see the eyes shutting off, or something, instead of it being suddenly off.

Lol I ve Just noticed that Ady placed window's reflections to the glassed when leia is shoots ( check 1st page of the comparison pics)

Very subtle and cool!

-Angel

 What? I can't see any reflections... ?

Where am I supposed to be looking?

You might have to zoom in to see it. The windows have a very subtle reflection of the window frame, which the original shot lacks. Angel's right, it's really well done.

Oh, now I see it. Awesome!

Ady, I did notice a small error in the clip. One of the tauntaun's blinks is weird, because theres a SECOND EYELID coming out from underneath the outer one! This is only present on one of the blinks. Will this be fixed?

it's ok. that is just added for tracking purposes. the finished shot won't have the second eyelid

OK, cool. So no more new clips until the trailer, is that right?

Ok a little update here:

I finished going through my edit again. This time I exported with no compression to get a better look at the color correction and I have to say it looks GREAT. This alone makes KOTCS a better movie. In fact there was a small scene that I forgot to color correct and it really let me see just what an improvment it made.

I had a few mistakes here and there (about 10 total) 1 spot where the audio wasn't matching up and a couple of audio jumps, but nothing major at all.

Except that damn climax with Spalko. I definitely have to redo the whole thing. Still have NO CLUE how I'm going to tackle it, but I'll think of something.

I really want to get this edit out to some of you for a look and feedback, but the file was 100GB uncompressed. I at least want the quality to be good enough so you can get a good idea of the color correction though. Can someone who knows Premiere tell me the exact settings they'd recommend for something small enough to post, but high enuogh quality to get an accurate idea?

Thanks!

It's awesome to hear that you're almost done with this edit! I can't wait to see it! Will you be posting any clips to show off the color correction?

I think the point ben_danger was making is that the PT doesn't have the same visual feel as the OT.  Yes, part of that is due to having populated settings vs. unpopulated ones, but part of it too is that the PT seemed to be missing that used universe feel.  I know their exist popular explanations for this (it was before the Empire, Naboo was a rich, artisitic planet, etc.), but when it comes right down to it, a lot of the environments in the PT didn't feel lived in like they did in the OT.  I could believe Luke spent hours in his garage.  I could believe Han and Chewie clocked hours upon hours in the Falcon.  I could believe the rebel bases on Yavin and Hoth were working structures.  Naboo, Kamino, and many parts of Coruscant, however, look pristine and unused, and hence unrealistic.

Well said.

The wobbly helmet thing bothers me, too. As you said, Monroville, the sound you hear when the helmet is lowered indicates that that helmet is on there to stay, so it really shouldn't be all wobbly just because of a breeze.

I totally agree. I hope Adywan stabilizes the helmet.

The moon idea is good. It adds a character

Also i had an idea:

When the AT-AT fell wee see the rebel soldiers running and one say C'mon!

It will be cool if after the crash some snowtroopers had escaped of the fallen ATAT and heading towards to the rebels.

Just a brief scene. Also the snow speeder to shoot one of them just before it destroy the AT. Just like AOTC when the geonosian fighters killed a clone trooper...

-Angel

That would be awesome if pulled off seamlessly.

sketchrob said:Okay - so, £190 ? OK... but thats it! lol Please let this be the camera bro, I'm gonna have to take on some extra freelance for this one lol. Funds have been sent.

I think we can all give a great thanks to you, man. Amazing contributions. Let's hope Ady can get the camera he wants with the added funds.

Yes i really do this we should all thank sketchrob for what he has done here. the funds should all clear within the next 24 hours and the second they do i will be ordering the camera. I'd better get to work on finishing the wampa puppet and all the other stuff now. I'd alos like to say a huge thanks to everyone else that donated. This project would have stalled without you guys

Well i've also been doing some more of the fixes to ESB:R. So far today i have fixed:

1> When Luke knocks Vader off the ledge of the carbon chamber there are a couple of gaffes in this one. As Vader falls and goes off screen you can see a rod wobbling which looks like it could the lightsaber pole bobbing up. Also as lukes sabre is disengaged you can see what looks to be a stage hand taking the saber from mark hamill and swapping it for the hilt without the pole. Then when Luke jumps down his head bobs back up in the last few frames. these have all been fixed

2> fixed the very noticeable jump cut as the gate closes behind luke as he exits the tunnel in the vane.

3> (see below) fixed the bad composite job done by ILM for the SE where the gangs shadows are transparent as they run through cloud city in the new SE shot. I've also given the tiny rail a greater hight. health and safety. lol

 Awesome work as usual, Ady!

Someone said the battle of endor to be more like ROTS opening battle, so we can see from the throne room the battle outside.

Ive noticed that in some parts there is not enough space to see outside so i cut some metal to extend the view.

Sorry for the crap battle pic but i was too lazy to make one from scratch. Notice the death star surface :)

-Angel

Sorry, but I think that's way too distracting. It's a good idea, though.
