STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

Hi FremenDar, I believe that an AVCHD was released by someone onto the Newsgroups but it was not Adywan. It was actually just an upscaled version of the DVD, but some said it looked pretty good; it may actually be an interesting upload to tehparadox.

Anyway, the "official" Adywan 720p HD version comes after ROTJ: Revisited.

The Evil Dead Treasures Collection (Released)
Time

I suppose that the content from all the Treasures discs (1DVD9 and 2DVD5s) can be fit onto a single BD-25; however, that would mean there would be a mix of Evil Dead 1 and 2 materials. Also, all the materials are in SD, so it's probably better just to have it as a DVD, so DVD players can upconvert it well. Someone may also need to make new menus.

SeeNoEvil is working on another Evil Dead disc, an improved version of his Treasures Collection, but is still far from completion; if comprehensive enough, that could probably be put on a Blu-Ray disc.

P.S. Do you have to buy the complete bluray set to get the documentaries? Cause I love those.

Yes you do need to get the Complete Saga Blu-Ray but it is common for it to be sold individually on eBay, so if that's all you want, then you can find a good deal over there. That's actually what I personally plan to do since you don't give money to LFL directly but can still see those deleted scenes and doumentaries.

What HASN’T changed on the 2011 OT SE Blu-ray release – the uncorrected mistakes...
Time

I definitely agree with Bingowings. This way is much better than as is in the actual film. This is much more Star Wars-y. One of the reasons ROTJ doesn't work is that the picture seems blander than the other films; nothing is really vivid and sticks out to the eye. This is along the lines of why I like a white Hoth in ESB, as opposed to a duller blue; I love whatever sticks out to the eye without being overly obnoxious. Darker picture makes dull film...

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

DNR strikes back, I suppose. Lucas was probably trying to emulate a video look by DNR-ing things. The Mace Windu shot earlier does indeed look grain-reduced. It's a shame because I thought that TPM might have the best transfer in the set.

Which do you think is more bothersome: the EE and slight cropping of the HDTV broadcasts or this DNR'ed version?

EDIT: I do suppose that we should be thankful this wasn't done to the OT. Maybe Lucas wants to encourage the PT more by having what are, in his eyes, better transfers for them.

Ah got it. Thanks for the information Darth Lars. I've always really wondered about that since the TPM puppet looks horrendous.

RANDOM MEMORY: I actually read an article around 2005 that they used the TPM puppet as a stand-in in ROTS during the Tantive IV scenes, but it's face was half-melted off, due to improper storage. Apparently the actors had a hard time concentrating because of this.

He probably just wanted attention and getting banned was a way for him to end it without outing himself as a complete fraud, which is probably what he was.

In any case, if that still from that idiot's thread really was fake, I'm outta here - none of the DC, GOUT, or 16mm projects interest me enough to stick around.

Oh don't leave lurker77! You've only been here four days. It's not often that there are fake threads like that and you will find other things of interest here. There's fan edits and also the Despecialized Editions...

The Evil Dead Treasures Collection (Released)
Time

Hi there, the "Book of the Dead" Fan-Made DVD has not been released yet as far as I know; it will probably be unveiled with a V2 of the Treasures Collection. I sent you a PM with rapidshare/megaupload links of DVDs you may be interested, including the first version of the Treasures Collection.

I do not know exactly where to find Sam Raimi's Super 8 Shorts, but there may be a DVD floating out there for those interested. I'll see if I can find one. As far as Josh Becker's Super 8 Shorts, those have been released officially and can be bought from Becker's website here.

I'm also a big Evil Dead fan, so if you're looking for anything or find something interesting, feel free to contact me.
