The Spinal Tap Omnibus - Volume 6: The 1992 Concert Tour (Released)
Time
I'm replying to this thread since it's the "official" Spinal Tap Omnibus (STO) thread. The first Omnibus volume IS out "in the wild" so to speak. It was released where people collect in groups and read news. The second volume was released in a more limited fashion, but I WILL get it released in the same way as volume 1. Currently however, my copy has a CRC error, and the release will have to wait until a copy without the error is sent back to me. Sorry for being cryptic on how to find it, but the first two volumes have material that can be found commercially, and I want to play by the forum's rules. (There might be people here who have an idea how to find it as well. )

By the way, the following volumes will be preservations, so I can talk on how to find them here on the forums all I want.

Idea: 'That Was Spinal Tap - A Rock and Roll Creation' - a supplemental project?

Also, the Criterion LD version of Tap has an easter egg after the color bars that is not on the DVD. Tap's first appearance on Rob Reiner's The TV Show, with Reiner as Wolfman Jack.

Hopefully, I have a line on the VHS version of the Return of Spinal Tap. I might need you later if it doesn't come through. As for the first appearance of the band, it was included in Volume 2 of the Spinal Tap Omnibus. (Hopefully more copies get distributed.)

The Spinal Tap Omnibus - Volume 6: The 1992 Concert Tour (Released)

Soooo....

I have a question for the people here. I have in my mind the actual organization of the how the omnibus should be. So far the releases have been:

Vol 1 - The Film
Vol 2 - Special Features
Vol 3 - Material A (Yes, I know the following material is but I'm not telling)
Vol 4 - Material B
Vol 5 - Material C
Vol 6 - Material D

I know I could probably finish Vol 6 the quickest. Should I try to do the volumes in order, or should I release a later volume first and lock myself in?

Thoughts, new ideas?

Alien Appendix #3: The Alien Archive (Released)

Meedermow,

I know exactly what you're talking about. Coallating all the Spinal Tap material I'm getting is no easy task, while waiting (hopefully) for upgrades in material that I already have. (I want to make sure I have the highest quality material before going through with a disc.) I'm looking forward to your releases, and hope I find time in between all the other maelstroms of time sinks in my life to finish mine.

Sometimes I *really* hate being a renaissance man.

Perhaps you could email the guy that posted it to see if he can send you a copy??

I found this as well.

BTW, the Hard N Heavy only has about 5 seconds of Nigel, but I put it (the whole episode) on DVD if you still want it.

Yeah, it wasn't on the list, since I still haven't been able to get a hold of the author. (I have downloaded it though.) As for the charity thing, I'm hoping they release a DVD so it'll be in exponentially better quality.

Sure, I'd love a copy of the Hard N Heavy.

Song Of The South - many projects, much info & discussion thread (Released)

Well, the best thing to do in my opinion is...

If you really feel that it is that much lower than your usual standard, release it under a different name. That way, you distance yourself from the project. This is the best for everyone since people can decide which version they like best and you don't have to worry about "sullying your quality standards."

I'm still looking for some things, so if people have promised stuff and haven't sent it yet, I'd appreciate it if you would. I'm still looking for a good capture of the VHS/Laserdisc that has the four official videos on it. If anyone can find it, I'd appreciate some assistance. Thanks.
