Movies generally considered "bad" that you like.
Time

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 I actually like better than the first film and the second. A lot consider it as dull, boring, and not enough action. I’d say, that was its strength! First film understandably focused on the child killing game that pretty everyone knows about, and that’s basically what we got in that film. Second film, it started unweave and when it did, I loved it! Then with Mockingjay Part 1, I found that it had the right amount of tension going on, especially since less focus was put on the “hunger games”!

I haven’t seen Part 2 yet though, so all that Part 1 built up for me could go down the drain. I’m just saying out of those 3 films I mentioned, the third gets less praise when arguably, it did the best all around for the franchise.

In what ways did TFA completely nail it, either in terms of filmmaking or in terms of continuity?
Time

It was standard 2D viewing and unfortunately had terrible seating that was right up close to the screen.

However, TFA definitely has me giddy like a kid again for Star Wars. I can’t stop thinking about the characters, especially Rey and Ren. What TFA nailed for me was show rather than tell too much. Rey drawing tally marks sings so much to me, and I appreciate little things like that.

I’ve listened to the track a few times on YouTube, but it still hasn’t quite jumped at me. I really need access to the film for multiple viewings to connect the music with the scenes.
That’s how it is with most things for me though when it comes to music. Themes in other shows or films don’t grow on me until I can associate it with the general tone and scenery on screen.
Perhaps that’s why I feel the trailer music very moving in comparison since I was able to replay it a hundred times over, both visuals and score.

Edit: I should make it clear that I’ve only seen TFA once.

Random Thoughts

I have a different issue with YouTube. Whenever I try to click the gear icon so I can lower the video quality (1080p is great and all, but Comcast and greedy data caps…) it glitches where I’m unable to click it and get the options. Using Chrome as well.

Refreshing kinda works but it’s like I have to click in a certain way for those video resolutions to appear.

Do you eat your vegetables?
Time

Yeah, basically, when two monkeys love each other very much, they produce veggies and fruits. Most often, it will be a banana bunch, but overall, pretty much all they do is live in a tree and make our fresh produce.

Sometimes this theory pops up that some ‘grow’ in the ground or ‘grow’ magically from a tree. Wouldn’t it be full of dirt or wood when you bite into it? Logic man.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

Also, maybe I should make clearer that over this span of two years, I haven’t run into this said girl since then. However, my parents, hell, even my little brothers, see her randomly at the store, at a restaurant or whatever. Me? Even if I made the effort, something would fall apart on my end or her end to just hang out. Like a curse.

So there’s a lot of things that frustrate, bother, and annoy me in life. However, since these are constant and consistent things, I just learn to deal with it. However, something of a different caliber resurfaced that I don’t deal with often.

I totally understand if this is really going to sound like such a petty thing to feel anxious about in an almost bad way. To put things in perspective/context, I graduated high school two years ago, and also obviously, so was my prom. Back then, I originally didn’t think I could get a date and almost considered not going until my dad started to get inside my mind, “You may regret not going later on.” I ended up going but not without successfully (to my amazement) ask someone to prom. You could say I went through this, “Whoa, she is really, really one of kind!” mindset with her. Looked stunning, had a brain on her, and had many things in common without really know each other that well prior to prom. She was even at my graduation.

Almost two years later, she wants to come over to see me and my family to “talk” next week. About what, no idea. It sounds weird, I know, but she is pretty nice and back when I met her, got along really well with the family, so my family loves her! Bearing in mind though, she already has a boyfriend and I sorta know the guy (we graduated in the same class but at best, could be considered acquaintances). Part of that stings. A little jealous? Sure. But I don’t have a right to really be that way. It’s not fair to her at all. I graduated a class ahead of her, and I moved to a different city. Communication isn’t my best, especially when there’s distance. I’m just clingy to the memories of my time in high school and how she played a part of being one of the highlights.

Phew. I just had to type that out and let these cheesy and cringey thoughts out.

The Force Awakens : Fan Edit Ideas

It’s still to small scale a bit like the Jedi crawl.

The first paragraph shouldn’t be about characters at all.
It should set the political scene and then the military stakes.
The lead players should be mentioned in the second paragraph
and then the third should lead into the first scene of the movie.

Thank you for this observation!

Here (please excuse the quality) is my mock attempt again. I also removed ALL CAP words since apparently only even numbered episode titles have that.

Again, just a mock test. Mainly, I was trying to setup a template for Star Wars crawls in After Effects, and it seems okay. Yes, the blue far, far away text is too big, will fix later.

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!
Time

"It was I who allowed the Alliance to know the location of the Shield Generator. It is quite safe from your pitiful little band. An entire legion of my best troops await them. Oh, I’m afraid the deflector shields will be quite operational when your friends arrive."

I’m with Frink on this. The Emperor is making it out as if his best legion of troops await them at said location, so his VERY best troops should be there on standby. Also, this means the Emperor should had already informed his troops ahead of time that a Rebel strike team was heading to the Shield Generator. Trap, right?

Also, this is the damn shield generator control point that’s protecting the monolith DEATH STAR! It’s not some throwaway job to be left to so-so trained troops.

Unless, I’m getting something wrong here. Maybe the Emperor had the actual Shield Dish being heavily guarded and not the control room for it where apparently blowing that part up also blows up the dish…?
