I’m mainly used to using HTML [/IMG][IMG], but this is very different for me.
There was an article I read here posted by adywan (I can’t remember where though) where Spielberg recalled a conversation he had with George Lucas in a park back around 1981 where George told him about Obi-Wan cutting of Anakin’s limbs in a fight by a volcano, Luke’s mother lived afterwards, and how anybody could learn about the force.
There were a few more details to it but I can’t seem to find the article here.

This is a question I’d like to ask some of the old fans who enjoyed SW during the 80’s and early 90’s: What was your impression of what you thought the prequels were going to be like before they announced the PT?
I remember when I was young before the PT my impression of it all was that Anakin would be a star pilot about Luke’s age who meets Obi-Wan who tells him all about the force and who he is as a Jedi and convinces Anakin to become one. They become partners till Anakin falls to the dark side and many other details that I don’t quite remember.
How about you guys, what was your impression of it all to the best of your memory?
Since we’re talking about R1, Vader’s lense’s were depicted as red in the film like in ANH and in SW Rebels. So for continuity, shouldn’t the lenses be red throughout the OT?
I believe that Ady had mentioned it being 3 separate films at some point.

No. No Wampa. Like the mechanical shark in Jaws, Ady could not get the Wampa to work. So, taking a cue from Spielberg, Adywan has decided that less is more. There will be an augmented white blur that knocks Luke off his Tauntaun, and the suspense of not knowing or seeing whatever malevolent force is lurking out there in the snow will enhance the entire experience. In the cave sequence, shadows will cover the threat approaching Luke’s hanging form in the cave with some of Williams’ academy award-winning theme from two years earlier intermixed with the Force theme to build the tension. As the shadows grow closer with audible growls of the unseen creature approaching, Luke cuts himself free and swings the saber and we are left with that single furry white arm falling cauterized to the snowy floor - leaving us to our frightened imaginations of just what it was that attacked Luke.
