I always imagined that if Orson Welles had been the original voice for Vader the way GL originally intended, he would’ve sounded something similar to Unicron who he did the voice for in Transformers: The Movie

My buddy Godzilla has been
a symbol of the horrors of nuclear war
a campy Earth saving hero
a symbol for environmental protection
a mindless, lost and scared creature
a reminder of the atrocities of war
a threat that must be dealt with
a protector worthy of praise
a spotlight on a stodgy government
and much more!
He’s the best!Even when he’s a giant fish-eating iguana?
Eh, sure. It’s fun to have one to totally hate on. It gave Toho a kick in the ass to make more, and they made a few great ones in the Millennium series.
It’s all water under the bridge now.
Do you think Toho screwed up by canceling the sequel to Shin Godzilla? To me, that one was the best.
I’ll forever love this scene

I kinda like him without eyebrows in a “Special Edition” like this.
I think the effect was done convincingly and it matches his wounds n’ burns.
I agree.
The only SE change that I didn’t like in that scene is him trying to look like Hayden by having his eye color changed from brown to blue and his skin tone changed to match the PT.

He has eyebrows in Rogue One and Rebels, funnily enough.
There is just one second of film in Rogue One (as he gets out of the bacta tank) where his face is visible, and he doesn’t have eyebrows there.
Within the OT alone, GL always conceived of Vader as a character who fell into a volcano and gets burned even before ANH.

It’s about Ben and Luke’s father and Vader when they are young Jedi knights. But Vader kills Luke’s father, then Ben and Vader have a confrontation, just like they have in Star Wars, and Ben almost kills Vader. As a matter of fact, he falls into a volcanic pit and gets fried and is one destroyed being. That’s why he has to wear the suit with a mask, because it’s a breathing mask. It’s like a walking iron lung. His face is all horrible inside. I was going to shoot a close-up of Vader where you could see the inside of his face, but then we said, no, no, it would destroy the mystique of the whole thing. So I guess it would make more sense for his eyebrows to be burned off.
Hi adywan,
As a suggestion for this scene I would say to use the original unaltered face of Sebastian Shaw without the eyebrows.

Return of the Jedi
The Godfather Part III
The Dark Knight Rises
Matrix Revolutions
Mother of TearsLooking at these film’s, why does mostly every director always make the third film of a trilogy the lowest point in the series?
Glass
Now that I’ve rewatched the film and after reading what Kevin Williamson’s original treatment would’ve been had he been the writer for it…
Scream 3

Look Who’s back… (W.I.P.)
With the Sebastian Shaw force ghost of Anakin restored in this shot the scene of Luke removing Vader’s helmet revealing Anakin’s face should without a doubt be the unaltered original face.
But with that in mind, should the eyebrows be removed or left alone?

Star Wars is a buffet, enjoy the stuff you want, and leave the rest. 😃
I want to agree wholeheartedly. If only someone would develop Kurtz’s ideas for ROTJ into a comic or animated film.
I want to see it developed into a fan film, like Vader Episode I.
And also “Why We Fight: A Star Wars Story”.

Who says Han wanted to be reassuring ? 😄
Definitely one way it could be taken, especially since the betrayal would still be pretty real and fresh in Han’s mind after being frozen in carbonite till not long before. The fact Lando is obviously there helping with the rescue effort wouldn’t undo the emotional affects of the betrayal.
Ugh, here we go with this again…

Then which line from Han during that scene do you think is more appropriate?

Before the PT and ST, I took A long time ago… to mean it happened mostly millions of years ago.
Now I just see it as the motiff for starting the movies, like the gun barrel sequence in the beginning of the Bond film’s.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage HomeStar Trek IV: The Voyage Home is the fourth film in a hexalogy.
But it’s often considered the third film in a trilogy-within-a-series, beginning with Wrath of Khan. It’s even sold this way in some box sets.
If we can say crap like “Last Crusade is the third movie in a trilogy,” we can isolate trilogies within longer series.
Hey, wait a second…how many movies are in the Star Wars series now…?
Like the Mad Max films, yes you can isolate trilogies within a longer series: the first three with Mel Gibson and then the fourth and upcoming film’s with Tom Hardy.
And for SW, this December it’ll be 9 film’s for the main series: the PT, the OT, and the ST. And that’s just for the “Skywalker Saga”…
