Heh.  I don't recall, but I'm sure it was something along the lines of "I'd always planned..."

OTOH Lucas' letter on StarWars.com was pretty classy.

Misconception:  The first time I saw Star Wars I thought the star destroyers were the GOOD GUY ships.  So when the Falcon flees Tatooine I thought they were being rescued!

Now, admittedly we came into the theater a few minutes late so the first thing I saw was the blockade runner being sucked into the star destroyer.  Not just in medias res, even MORE in medias res!

I got about ten minutes into the commentary for Star Wars before Lucas said something ridiculously untrue and I stopped.  It never occurred to me to listen to the other commentary tracks.  Now I'll have to.  For Kersh.

Sad news.  I've been watching ESB over and over again the last few weeks, thanks to these forums.

The freakiest part (for me) was that I had just pulled a picture of him out of my photo album yesterday.  It's possible that in 1987 when I took it I had no idea who he was.

I know he was Harrison Ford's favorite SW director.

Especially the trailer of ESB narrated by Harrison Ford.  Exhibit A of why he never got into voice work!

Wellllll, I'm sure that that would be no problem getting ABC on the job, right?  Er... right?

The Anthology soundtracks used McQuarrie and they were gorgeous.

I think simple logos would be terrific too.  Like one of Leguman 's Empire covers.  They're great logos.

Good grief.  I never new that.  You don't really see the ship other than the wings.  Wow.  Money well spent!

I guess that's my complaint of re-doing it (although I just saw you video on youtube and it looks terrific):  It was such a functional shot that simply communicated that someone was traveling from one ship to the other, and did it beautifully. 

Yeah, I hate that.

It would be nice for Jedi to have a symbol that wasn't a repeat of Star Wars, so all three had a unique label.  Maybe a lightsaber or something?  I hate to besmirch this effort with anything EU or PT but did the Jedi have a crest or something during the Old Republic?

But there's no need for it to be a Lambda.  Needa's shuttle WAS cool.  It also gets away from the notion that seems to pop up in EU stuff that there is ONE kind of anything.  We have 39 kinds of Star Destroyer but only one kind of "best" shuttle?

And maybe the Lambdas were NEXT years best model?

It wasn't that the director's name was at the end, it was that Lucas' name appeared at the beginning - as Lucasfilm Ltd.

1941 is one of the greatest films of all time.

I never understood why folks were shocked that Vader was a man.  All of the stories in 77 was that he wore that armor because he was horribly disfigured from his fight with Obi Wan, but still a man.

Consider this:  When Star Wars was in the AFI lists they always had to show a SE Death Star explosion.  Hell, on "I Love the 70's" the showed the freaking SE!!

The Special Editions AND the Prequels didn't make me feel this soiled...

Is Lucas was really Luca$, he'd do the work that folks here have done and then put the OUTs on blu-ray, but only as part of some exorbitantly priced collection.  He could make money AND make me let Attack of the Clones in my house!

Ok, how many people laughed their butts off and how many said "Yes.  YES.  Can it be done?"  Can't wait to show this to my wife tonight.  (She hasn't been able to figure out why I've started watching SW or ESB about once a day all of a sudden.)

Also remind that Set 1 is corrupted (nothing bad, seems to be the upload. The original has been checked and wasn't corrupted). Just repair/restore it with the Winrar option, it works.

PS: If someone can pm me the link for Set 3 besides... Thanks. ;)

I've got set 1 and 2 now (thanks!) and used a trial version of WinRAR to fix Set 1.  Is there someplace I can put the fixed version so others can get it?
