I thought Alone in the Dark was considered worse than Spider-Man 3.
Oh well...

This sounds a lot like FanFilitration's edit.
It sounds alright. There's going to be a few holes left, I think. What's the runtime?
*shudders*
fixed.
I love their thoroughness.
They were the first place to see the uncut Close Encounters of the Third Kind Theatrical Version. And they recently aired a print of the American version of Scrooge 1951.
They truly have a passion for what they do.
I'm curious to see if they ever air the American version of Metropolis.
Another laugh: "If there's no Sith in episode 7 I will leave Star Wars behind."
faceplam
True…..
That there is a reason I think the screenwriting job should have been given to someone else.
What did that take you, like, half a second? George throughout the whole making of the film (3 years) never took himself back and said "Maybe a small augmentation's in order." and came up with such a simple, but still sensible, conclusion as your own.
I'd question why no one ever spoke up to him about it, but considering what seems to have been leaked of Lucas' hostile work environment, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone just feared for their jobs if they dared to question him.
I think he might be far worse than Shyamalan in terms of his "artiste" mindset.
I've seen Sullivan's Travels. And Rear Window. Loved both of them.
From an early age, I was desensitized to the classics. I just sort of grew to like them.
All I can say is, thank the Lord for TCM.
I'm really glad I've kept my scope as limited as I have.
The 'falling in love' rule is one of the most tedious things to happen in the whole of the prequel trilogy.
It's a way of providing a cheap reason why Anakin and Padme can't just immediately hook up and leave it at that. Instead half of their conversations just stop because of the 'rule' that persists and doesn't make much sense, either.
If they weren't allowed to love, they might as well go the complete monk route and cut off all relations, because some relationships are so strong that they can constitute love. And yet the Jedi are seen with personal ties to each other and strong bonds, which is rather contradictory to Yoda's lessons.
Keep in mind, I'm one of those people who tries to be optimistic about every film I see and think of one good element of it. These films just have some deep-seated flaws which stem from a man who should have retired long ago.
EDIT: Read through the rest of the forum. I think these guys are solely comprised of modern comic-book writers.
I personally find it interesting for its artsy techniques and some interesting discussions. To me it's like if 2001 was talky and employed black-and-white footage frequently.
The fantasies were enough to keep me intrigued.
I was wondering what the remake was like. The only movie I've seen George Clooney in was O Brother Where Art Thou, and he had a southern accent there so I can't really judge his acting.
I have plenty of classics left to see, though.
Mainly, The Seventh Seal, The Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven, Lady Eve, Vertigo, and Psycho, to name just a few.
I'll find time soon.
Just curious, how many people here have seen the original Solaris?
And how many can compare it to its remake for me?
Well, 2001 is the only Kubrick film I've been allowed to see beyond Dr. Stranglove, so I can't judge the other ones.
I like it, though.
Can you rework some footage from Jedi to make the visitation a dream?
If this were in writing I'd suggest him getting injured during the Death Star escape. You'd cut the TIE fighter battle and rush him to the infirmary on Hoth. While recovering, he has a dream of Obi-Wan telling him to complete his training.
Hudson's the only one that really crosses the line into annoying, I think.
Even then, they at least make him tolerable.

He never intended to make them after 2005 the sequel films i mean. He intended the story to always be the tragedy of darth vader. Wonder what Retcon is coming to undue that the Empire is dead and its only six films. Where is this new story going to come from. Probably whole cloth and whether or not its accepted is anyone's guess.
Have you not been listening?
Lucas originally envisioned it as NINE films. And never was it completely about Darth Vader!
Tell me, if it was always supposed to be Darth Vader's story, then why is Vader practically a side-character in the original film?
And we've already discussed several feasible ways to have a trilogy without the aid of the Empire.

Don't worry, it ain't gonna happen.
EDIT: If that was what you meant, Tack.
I thought he meant 'avatar' instead of 'signature' for a second.
The mental image is enough to horrify me, though...
For the record, a few of my favorite films...
The Third Man (1949)
Solaris (1972)
Metropolis (1927)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Theatrical Cut) (1977)
Blade Runner (Workprint) (1982)
Citizen Kane (1941)
Jaws (1975)
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
… and I'm thirteen.
It's a question of taste, not age.

With regards to BATB, I think the solution may have arrived from Disney, no less.
The work-in-progress version on the BD, from what I could see, is definitely film sourced, and appears very dark indeed.
It is not branched with the special edition, but is on a different file.
I'll be sending a rip to Andrea so that he could compromise on the brightness settings for his project, as the brightness setting on this print is meant for the cinemas and not for home viewing.
What to do for the footage that's still in pencil there?

You are aware that there're several high-quality TV broadcasts of the 1997 SE floating out there right? The VHS is going to look terrible.
This isn't The Thief and the Cobbler, there exist some high-quality sources out there. You don't have to turn to VHS.
The Blob eats Wasp. They show it.
And then someone else eats The Blob.
At least, that's how I think it goes. Watch Linkara's review of it.

All I know is that someone gets eaten.
I only hope that Marvel doesn't do some of the stuff it's been doing in recent years. I don't mind the occasional character death if it moves the story along, but Star Wars has never had any of the horrible stuff that some Marvel comics have had in recent years.
Keep in mind, Ultimatum had two characters being eaten, by other characters.
