I'm intending slightly more deep-seated than that (get over it, man!), but, all right.

I'm intending slightly more deep-seated than that (get over it, man!), but, all right.
Let's use this thread to identify two philosophical questions.
1. What were the true, no nonsense, no jokes, flaws with the prequels?
2. How can we avoid those flaws with the new films?
This can identify pet-peeves (for me, the spiritual aspect of the force being almost completely lost on AOTC and ROTS).
Ugh...
The only spiritual thing I want to see is Luke trying to grasp the force while training himself (and that won't be friggin' combat training!).
Anything else would just be too much of a repeat.
I choose to believe that he's the main antagonist of the original Star Wars. I like him the most because he's not trying too hard.
Vader's a bit over-it with his imposing nature and dark voice, but I think his, along with the Emperor's, writing makes up for it.
Still, I would have preferred someone like Chris Greenam for Vader, and Clive Revill for Palpatine (I'm big into British talent).
Simple!
I like Cliff Curtis' Fire Lord, I like Thrawn, I like Tarkin, I like Saruman.
You know why?
THEY'RE SIMPLE!

This started Mr. Lucas on the long trend of combining characters for narrative efficiency that eventually gave us (General Vader+Prince Valorum+Starkiller=Darth Vader) and Leia as Luke's sister.
You know, I think I just realized the fundamental problem with the prequels...
The rushed time frames the scripts were produced in.
You need to have time for rewrites, because you need to get the script to that level of quality that comes when you revise it from the script.
You don't start the script in pre-production, you start pre-production once you've finished the script.
(for the record, I'm in the middle of a massive rewrite of my own script right now, and it's rather cleansing)
There's actually some grain. Huh.

Hmm...
That is the best thing I have ever seen.
I'd venture that the Donny and Marie sketch was the worst of the Star Wars media.
You know something? Whenever something is built up as the worst thing ever, it rarely ever delivers.
I didn't think Superman IV was that bad.
I didn't think The Last Airbender was that bad.
You know the exception to that rule?
THE M'F' STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!
My avatar is my identity. I'll only change it if I can find another decent picture of Tack.
Can't we just get beyond thunderdome?
Christmas Two… Garbage Day!!

Walking off the stage just because the teleprompter malfunctioned? What a jerk.
I'm preeeeeetty sure that was stage fright. Without the teleprompter, he can't handle it, has no idea what to do, freaks out and bugs out.
That's not much better. In fact I'd argue it's worse.
I can only see half of it.

Keep it alive, man!
That needs to be real. Someone make it real.
50?!
I thought it'd at least be a little longer than that.
I did know about the other TV version, I didn't know that it was produced before the other one, though.
I was wanting to read the novel at some point, and I figured the 2002 version was an attempt to be somewhat closer than Tarkovsky's version.
Thanks for the info.
Oh. Stupid me...
I thought Alone in the Dark was considered worse than Spider-Man 3.
Oh well...
This sounds a lot like FanFilitration's edit.
It sounds alright. There's going to be a few holes left, I think. What's the runtime?
*shudders*
fixed.
