Oh, man. I see nothing about Scientology in that post.
PROBATION!!!
Perhaps this is a good time to repost Rule #1, since it has been frequently violated.

1) Whatever the thread is currently about, your post must at least have some connection to that topic. So if the thread is currently about ugly cats, you can post an ugly cat picture. You can also talk about your ugly cat. What you can't do is post about William Shatner, unless you're going to tell a story about his ugly cat, or post a picture of an ugly cat head on his body.
Anyway, C3PX and VFP have stated their case. I shall rule after careful deliberation. And since C3PX is now on PROBATION, he is in danger of a retroactive induction into the Hall of Shame, just as Ric is.
How about it, Ric? Care to defend your use of Khaaaaaaaan?
It was my way of saying "huh?" like you did, but done as a joke. I didn't understand BmB's comment either.

Both George Lucas and Steven Spielberg appeared in a companion film to The Phantom Menace, titled The Beginning. Specifically, they act together in a wonderful scene where they discuss the nature of the battle droids from The Phantom Menace. They play it a little too straight for my taste (it's obvious we're watching a show within a show, if you will), but it does provide us with a rare opportunity to compare these two titans of the film industry side by side.
So...who's the better actor? What say you?
EDIT: This has morphed into a series of threads - Lucas v. Spielberg. We will be debating all facets of their lives, to determine once in for all who is the better man. This is Round 1.

PROBATION !!!
Oh lordy, where to begin.
First off, you don't get to put people on PROBATION here - only I can. See VFP's last post for how to request that another's post be reviewed for rule-breaking.
Second, you should read a little closer:

Also, if you had looked at the first post before going on a PROBATION binge, you would have seen this:

Probation: bkev, Ric Olie, vote_for_palpatine
Finally, if you read that same post now, you will see this:

Probation: bkev, Ric Olie, vote_for_palpatine, ABC
That's right...
...wait for it...
PROBATION!!!
(violation of Rule #1)
You have thus become the first repeat offender. Congratulations! It may take you a bit longer to get off of PROBATION this time. I suggest providing a humorous reason why I should take you off PROBATION.
-Threadmaster
Incidentally, I await a response from either C3PX or Ric on why they should be spared. Ric's case is particularly interesting. Since he is currently on PROBATION, a retroactive PROBATION would put him in violation of Rule #5.
Oh, and while I'm at it...
The Thread Is Now Open!

I think the 2006 OOT DVD releases are satisfying. Yes, they're taken from the Laserdiscs and are non-anamorphic, but I don't watch my films anamorphically enhanced anyway so it's fine for me.
Could you explain this please?
Banana bread.
I'm sorry, I thought I was in the "things we hate" thread.
Very High Standards. Therefore it has no place in the 2004 box.

Not a bad lookalike! :)
I agree. The guy in pic #1 looks EXACTLY like the guy in pic #2.
I would have never thought of putting Fantasia in the 2004 box. Of course, it's my wife's and it's VHS, so two problems there.

I think he was talking about Real Housewives of Orange County.
Just a reminder to anyone who wanders in here and is thinking about posting without reading through the thread - the Rules are posted in the very first post. Read them closely, or subject yourself to...
TORTURE!!!
Oops, sorry. I watched Teenagers From Outer Space recently and got carried away. Anyhow...

PROBATION!!!
I almost typed up an argument to your first two sentences. Nice one :-)
You win :-(

Speed Racer. I know people hate this movie... I can't help but love it.
I agree, lord help me. I Netflixed it and had such a fun time watching it that I will probably get it on Blu at some point.
Boy, this is a tough one. I shall deliberate on this question, as I don't want to rush to judgment. I also invite C3PX to present a defense, which will be taken into account before final judgment is rendered.
Incidentally, Ric Olie could be questioned in the same manner. The kitty cat did not specify a source either. What say you, Ric?
VFP, you are not outside the bounds of reasonableness in your questioning of another thread-member's supposed on-topic post. Your diligence is commendable. However, your post contained one glaring error...violation of Rule #1!
PROBATION!!!
Mmmm...that was delicious.

Lucas has been mulling it over and now that Avatar is successful he's mulling a bit harder.
Lol. I've been waiting for Mull Hard 2: Mull Harder - In 3D!
I'm the opposite. My sports calendar is always full, as I'm a complete junkie:
Jan - NFL, College B-ball
Feb - College B-ball
Mar - College B-ball, but starting to think about MLB
Apr thru June - MLB, with some NBA and NHL thrown in
July and Aug - Nothing but MLB
Sept and Oct - MLB and NFL
Nov and Dec - NFL
I love that there's always something going on I'm interested in. My wife hates it.
Wait...you can't quote yourself for truth!

And actually I'm not so sure Frink interpreted it the way you did. He indicated above that he that he knew that I knew the official definition of the EU, so, unlike you, he did not think I was making "a honest mistake" (as I think you put it) and that I simply did not know the official Lucasfilm position.
You are correct, I did not think you were making a mistake (although I do appreciate being defended, Chewtobacca).
