STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>

Sorry for the question, but has adywan already started working on the HD version of ANH? I found this http://aggeiw.deviantart.com/gallery/ . Is this some sort of leaked images from the upcoming edit?

I bloody well hope not! LOL

No they are not, Adywan seems to go for a much more subtle approach to his changes.

Although I did enjoy the way this shot makes it look like the Cantina is Taffy Lewis' Bar from Blade Runner ;-)

Good articles ^ . This now officially the greatest record cover ever painted...

Shame it isn't an LP otherwise I'd be tracking down a cover for my wall. This alternate Japanese cover of the same 7" is fab too...

Okay Tim,

re: my point in t'other thread abot Doc having a bullet-proff vest all along. Is it possible that the Doc we see at the start of BTTF1 had already met BBTF1 Marty and BTTF3 Marty and it was only the appearance of BTTF3 Marty that convinced him to read the letter but he decided to never tell young pre-BTTF1 Marty so the timeline would be maintained?

Also does BBTF3 Cowboy Doc still have the knowledge of meeting BTTF2 Marty in BTTF2 and BTTF3 or just meeting BTTF1 Marty in BTTF1? So is BTTF3 Doc a different DOC than in BTTF1 and BTTF2? Or is BTTF3 Doc the same as BTTF1 Doc but BTTF2 Doc is in another timeline and for our Marty no longer exists?

I had a similar tape, think it was this one.

The Star Wars theme was reworked into some kind of guitar-driven synthpop, IIRC.

"Neil Norman and his Cosmic Orchestra" great name :-D

Not the same as mine but I did also have a re-recorded cassette of all the Bond Themes (Noticed that ^ had Moonraker) too. I'm 100% sure it was this one from the 'Double Play' label...

...so that suggests that my SW cassette was also the Double Play one as these things are often sold to the retailer by the rack and I bought both from Motorway Garages in the early 90s (Maybe very late 80s). No earlier than 1989 as Timothy Dalton in L2K was on the cover.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

On this Earth, it is forbidden to discuss the time travel mechanics of Back to the Future in Internet threads that don't explicitly deal with the Back to the Future films. To prevent the accidental reading of such forbidden discussions, technological hats designed to disable the visual parts of the brain upon exposure to such discussions have been invented and surgically grafted onto all persons who have regular Internet access.

FINAL NOTES

Stop talking about time travel in BTTF!

So are we in that timeline then?

We don't see him die at the start of BTTF, we only see him shot. The vest reveal takes place after Marty has gone back to 1955 and after he's returned from 1955 LOL. It's possible that the Doc had the vest all along and the whole thing is just a closed time loop.

The Lone Pine Mall wants a word with you.

I love knowing exactly where this mall is.  For some reason I still get really excited about things like this even though I've grown up in LA.

 ^ Cool beans. I don't think I ever noticed that before :-)

Accidentally stepping into a movie/TV location is a strange feeling all right. Almost like somebody walking on your grave. Had that odd feeling a few times, including going shopping here in London a few years ago...

...it was only after 30 minutes or so that I realised I was in the kind of dank dystopian London glimpsed in 'Resurrection of the Daleks'...

It's all clean, upmarket and buzzing with shoppers now (It was a semi-derelict wasteland when that episode was filmed). Many, many films have shot there (Shad Thames) before and after the regeneration.

Britain vs Canada for the gold in the Men's curling final this afternoon 1.30pm. Been quite getting into the sport this week despite not having a clue how the scoring works LOL. Apparently Canada are the favourites so the Brits are the underdogs which is how we like it (That's the stereotype anyway ;-)  )

Sir David Attenborough does a special spoof curling commentary...

I'm sure Alex Salmond will be on a plane to Sochi right now so he bask in the reflective glory if they win ;-)

Yes you can and I never said you couldn't, I just pointed out that a personal opinion isn't a "Stereotype".

If Puggo had said "That really proves the sterotype that all gay people are good sports commentators" then I'd have pointed out that it wasn't ;-)

Warbler said: Here is Wikipedia's diffinition of steorotype:

A stereotype is a thought that may be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things.[1] These thoughts or beliefs may or may not accurately reflect reality

Well then Wikipedia is wrong, as is its wont. The statement "may or may not accurately reflect reality" should be "does not accurately reflect reality", that is one of the things that defines a stereotype. It's a broad generalisation that distorts the truth and is therefore inherently false.

Let me give an example of a stereotype and since I'm from the UK... a stereotype would be that "British food is terrible". The food in tourist traps in London is awful which I'm sure is where that misconception arrises. Infact the UK has more Michelin restaurants than the US despite the US being a vastly more populous country. But your statement would have been akin to "British food is terrible because it comes from Mars". The former is a stereotype the later is just some crazy nonsense (That you are free to believe if you want to).

This thread jogged my memory of a cassette tape I had as a youngster that had (Slightly dodgy funky/disco but wonderful) re-recorded versions of many of the Sci-Fi themes a kid could need. Before the intrawebz this was a great cheap way to get all the space music you wanted without forking out for a dozen LPs (They were often sold at Motorway garage shops in the UK). Yay! :-D

I 'think' it was this (But a cassete tape)

But I don't think the cover looked like that.

This is more like what I remember.

But I'm sure my copy had more tracks than that ^. I'd swear down dead it had 'Star Beyond Time' at least. Maybe I had a double cassette version. Anybody remember these things?

I played that thing to death.... wish I still had it.

Here's Hera!

Pretty sure this polishes off the main cast. Nice to see a female lead, actually. She's definitely our "Leia Proxy", but more like Leia and Han together, in a way.

I dig her. Can't wait to see more.

That's more like it :-) That character sounds interesting, first positive thing this week.

If this show is more about an uncoventional family... that just happen to live in space during a time of rebellion, then this could really work. I don't really care what adventures/stories take place, as long as we care about who is having them.

it is both bogotted and a sterotype.

Read the dictionary definition I provided again. Is it an "oversimplification" to label them "weirdos" or is it an opinion? If it is an "oversimplification" as you say, then please elaborate with the more complex version of your statement.

RicOlie_2 said:

Just because it's a stereotype, Ryan, doesn't mean everyone (or even the majority) has to hold it.

Again, read the dictionary definition I provided again. It says a stereotype is an "oversimplification"  that is "widely" held.

But this is getting way off topic when all somebody said was the nice positive thing that the dudes skating commentary was very informative. Shame that such a postive statement has to descend so quickly into negativity.

I guess it is easier for some to get past it than others.   I am surprised he hasn't recieved some criticism from the gay community for feeding into the stereotype that gay men are effeminate weirdos.

^ There is no such stereotype, you've just imagined that one yourself.

There is however a stereotype that all "gay men are effeminate" and there is a seperate bigotted view point that gay men are "weirdos". The dictionary definition of 'stereotype' is "a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image". The former is just such an oversimplfication, the latter is just plain wrong.

Yeah Fanedits are never for money but thanks for the feedback :-)

There is an old thread covering that project in the fanedit section. I've worked on 3 versions so far (That clip ^ was from the second) and I'm probably gonna start on a fourth at some point (The 3rd version is gonna be scrapped too for complicated reasons). If you want to see more clips just browse my Vimeo channel, there are maybe 15+ videos showing deleted material re-instated. Like this...

SW: Lost Workprint - Beru Placement / Speeder & Sand People / Camp Greedo Vocal (Rough Tests)

All the audio is unfinished though.

Fine but you are still off topic.

Does a fan made copy exist? Yes or no.

I'm working on an on/off project to insert any and all deleted  footage into ANH to make an aproximation of the lost workprint. Here is a bit of old and rough workprint footage (From 6 months ago) of the first 15 minutes...

https://vimeo.com/72365782

It's got all the Biggs footage (Amongst other things) in context, if you just want to see how it plays out. It's all in B&W though.

(I think I've since scrapped it all and started again LOL)

I would like you to find at least one scene in the PT (or anything Hayden has done) that can compare to this performance.

You mean one as badly written and badly (CGI) acted, poorly paced, ill thought out, horribly designed and boringly directed as that was ^... sure there are lots in the PT. But honestly the voice acting in that scene was very poor and dreadfully cheesy.

But seriously you want me to pick a scene that's slightly less cr*p than all the other cr*p scenes in a cr*ppy movie to compare to another cr*p scene from a cr*p TV show? I don't think my brain can cope with sorting the subtle gredations of cr*pitude.

If Hayden had got a decent script, a decent story and a decent director/editor on AOTC and ROTS then yes I'm saying he woud have been great as young Anakin. Try to see past the terrible dialogue, watch a scene with the sound off where he's acting with just his eyes. Little moments like when his voice cracks and he stumbles over his words as he's talking to his dying mother are ignored because all one can remember from that scene is awful dialogue like "Now I am complete". If Hayden had been allowed to play Anakin all the way through with the same subtlety we'd have some very different films. But Lucas could never trust the actors he'd hired so he had Hayden simply state what he is feeling like "I shouldn't have done that" and "I don't understand".

If Hayden is a terrible actor because of the script in the PT then Samuel L. Jackson is a terrible actor too.

Jesus... expressing the opinion that Hayden was okay as Anakin isn't the same as saying the PT is good and the OT sucks. Thems be fightin' words round these parts pardner ;-)

And Hayden is great in that scene you posted btw. Wether you think Anakin should say those words or have done those things is neither here nor there, as I'm talking about the performance.

Are you saying in that universe The Humongous was responsible?

"There has been too much violence. Too much pain. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give me your pump, the oil, the gasoline, and the whole compound, and I'll spare your lives. Just walk away and we'll give you a safe passageway in the wastelands. Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror"
