The ST has really brought back everyone being positive about a SW movie, just with simple photos of the real Chewy from the OT days.
but here is an early Episode 7 poster from MTV.com:

Yes very positive but don't click on that link everybody, it'll only depress you all again. We don't need to see all the ST cast dressed up in PT costumes.
Halfway there...
(Again)
I've had a check on that shot and the major different versions of ANH are all quite different.
1. GOUT - Still shot with heavy gate-weave, probably giving the illusion of movement
2. Despecialised - Stabalised version of the GOUT still shot.
3. SE BR - Stabalised still shot with a few additions. One of the nice SE changes IMO. The Jawas are still totally still though.
4. Revisited - Still shot with differently applied additions and changes.
Here's a comparison I've done...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNTBK_FW6dE
I might switch to the GOUT version, as I like the effect the gate-weave has and it'll look fine with the other rough footage I'm using. Thanks for that spot FrankT!
Survey Done. I imagine you'd like some feedback on the survey, as this is for your college course. I've done a couple of surveys for school/college and I know they are very difficult to word.
1. There was no location question? - This dramatically effects cost. e.g. I live in the UK and we get "F'd in the A" all the time over gaming costs. The US gets it easy ;-)
2. "How many hours a week do you spend playing video games?" - If I'm deep into a videogame and I've got the time, I might spend 12hours a day gaming! But I probably haven't spent 12 hours this month, as I'm not really into anything at the moment. The question didn't really reflect this, so I just guessed something average.
3. Demo Questions - I haven't played a Demo since the 90s, so I'd have liked to have put N/A for those ones. I went for '1' instead.
4. Similaly there are four questions on Alpha/Beta - I've only ever done that once so these were a bit wasted on me. I put '1' for all.
5. Also although I'm 100% satified with the DLC I've purchased (I wouldn't have bought it otherwise) I'm very annoyed at the range of DLC offered currently and angry about how it is being sold. I want EXTRA totally new quality Single Player content 6 months down the road. I don't want crappy and weak multiplayer content (Like one extra map or a different skin) removed from the game and I'm forced to pay extra to get it back. The survey didn't fully address that IMO.
6. Also the cost questions - I'm always satisfied with the ammount I pay for a videogame because I always wait for the price to drop to something I'm happy with. So obviously that means I think new games are over priced, but that wasn't what you asked.
^ Hope that's helpful :-)

Who says you have to use SE footage though?
It's a still shot in the GOUT, isn't it?
It's not desirable to fix all the continuity errors even if they could be. Some were no doubt introduced deliberately by Paul Hirsch the editor. This one for example...

^ Lando is not in the same stance from shot-to-shot and arguably, neither of them are standing in the same places on the platform either (Plus Leia's eyeline/head position is off IMO). But leaving in the 1 or 2 seconds of footage that is missing between these two shots (Takes?) would ruin the flow and pacing of that scene and spoil the feel of the movie.
Similaly, if a shot was flipped, it was flipped for a reason, a deliberate artistic choice (It cannot happen by accident). So it may not be desirable to put it back even if it is an error, but that's Adywan's call to make (and I trust he'll make the right calls).

^ This one photo is the single most important piece of news about the ST yet. If JJ & co are worrying about these little details, then we can breath a sigh of relief that SW is back in the hands of people who know SW. Hurray!
Despite my earlier pessimism over this thing, that trailer really did it for me... but so did the trailer for TPM ;-)

Excellent!
Will that freeze-frame at the start be animated?
Thanks and no, not planning on using SE footage for that.
I'm celebrating by not watching AOTC which is on TV right now.
I've spent all my spare time in the past week just working on my extended-mega-cut of the Mos Eisley Cantina. As it's the 4th, I thought I'd share my work-in-progress cut of this now 8.5 minute sequence:
https://vimeo.com/93862408
(Password: fanedit.org)
All video is 'cut' as it will appear the finished scene. Footage has been gathered from many sources to create this new version. Including just about every shot from the available 'Cantina Rough Cut' and almost all "unique" footage from the Theatrical Cut (Plus alternate footage and sound that doesn't appear in either). However...
- Colour grading, grain and film stock degradation hasn't been started yet.
- Music track is temporary. I've just added a couple of unmixed pieces just for this demo clip (Both by Benny Goodman).
- SoundFX track is unmixed and incomplete, although most of the major pieces are in place, including a full mix of 'Camp' Greedo's dialogue (From several sources) and a new alternate Lightsaber attack soundmix.
So there is still weeks more work to do on this sequence alone, but I hope you enjoy this rough-cut of a rough-cut and may the 4th be with you!
I guess this is the thread for this...
I've been hoping YouTuber Ollie Harper would get round to doing some SW content and for the 4th, he has :-)
Retrospective / Review: Return of the Jedi (1983)
^ Nice 24 minute overview/mini-doc/trailer for ROTJ. He discusses many of the reasons why ROTJ is my favourite and also many of the reasons that others find it disappointing.
Hopefully Ollie is going to do more Star Wars videos andfan commentaries across the next year.
Curtains Vs Drapes... this sure is the Controversial Discussions Thread!
Why do phrases like "ramming it into our faces", "shoving it down our throats" and "rubbing our noses in it" always get used in this debate? The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Things to do in Denver when you're Darth!
Whoo, high five! Anybody, high five? No... :-(
Yes I'm hoping against hope that the OT characters are minor players in a new exciting story with new characters.

I made the mistake of going into Burtons in Falkirk today. It was the Burtons that Burtons forgot. It looks like it hasn't been touched since flat-tops were in.I was looking for a new to me waistcoat and the only waistcoats in town seemed to be in there. They were made to match the worst looking blazer suit ever devised. I wanted to take the designer out to a swanky restaurant and poison the fucker for the sake of the species.
It looked like it was made from a bar of 1970's shield soap, that had dropped down the back of a sink overflow with pubes and toothbrush scum all over it.
If you read that post ^ in Alan Bennett's voice it's even better.
^ pfft... I've seen bigger books.

Not gonna happen. Huge waste of money for one thing... A new Star Wars movie with "Episode" in the title is so big of a deal that it sells itself.
Yep, if Disney want to maximise their profits, they won't bother wasting money marketing the film at all and just let the fans do it for them for free (Plus all the gazillion toys that'll be advertised anyway won't escape many peoples notice). But I doubt they are prepared to operate that far outside the box.
Am I hallucinating or did DuracellEnergizer just post that? ^^
So it's either a film about seniority within an organisation, a company directive, employee height differentials, a consignment of goods, a comment on the structure within that organisation... or it could be about some Jedi. If it was Lucas in PT mode I'd guess one of the former but as it's JJ, I'm gonna trust the film will be about Luke teaching some kids about the force.

Thanks Adywan :-)
^ Wow could catch. I love that bit...
