The use of "retarded cunt" strikes me as unnecessary.

trust me, Frink, those are the perfect words. And I reckon Ricky Gervais would (possibly) agree with me:

I wouldn't use Ricky Gervais as your arbiter of what is right or wrong... unless it's in a "Well RG thinks this, so I'll think the opposit" kind of way.

<strong>STAR WARS: REBELS</strong> (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

Here's the complete audio from the SDCC Rebels panel.

Some Highlights:

  • "After the Clone Wars, to the majority of the galaxy, the Jedi are traitors. Disappointments."
  • There are consequences whenever you pull out a lightsaber in this time period
  • there will be very few lightsaber fights.

I'm prepared to believe 2 out of 3 of those statements.

Star Wars Rebels: A Look Ahead

Hurumph. The script sounds awful and generic. Lines like "Helloooo Hyperspace!", "We're busted" and "You're good to go" were sentences I didn't want to hear in the Star Wars universe. More 1138 please... less 90210.

Anybody notice the use of the word "Padawan"? Sigh the PT rears it's ugly head already in the Disney universe. What's wrong with "Apprentice" anyway?

Finally do female characters have to put one hand on their hip and cock their heads to one side? Apparently they do.

Still the general OT vibe looks fun enough.

So, other than the female pose thing, you're complaining about modern-audience-friendly dialogue and working within established continuity.

 Yes :p

after the show was over, some retarded cunt stopped me just to tell me "You have offended MY Lord". .... Yuck!

Just use the Bill Hicks comeback...

"After the show, these three rednecks came up to me. "Hey, buddy! We're Christians and we didn't like what you said." I said, "Then forgive me."... later on, when I was hanging from a tree..."

&quot;Rebel base in firing range&quot; voice: mono version vs stereo version. Which do you prefer and why?

Saw Redux at the Waverly during the week before it closed.

And as far as I'm concerned, if you REMEMBER being WOWED by the stereo effect (I assume you're talking about the carpet bomb cascade scene), that is proof that you were taken out of the movie for a moment so as to appreciate the AWESOMENESS!!!!11!1

In other words, you were distracted.

I can't quite see the downside of being blown away by the artistry of film but each to his own. Also, given that AP starts on total black and the sound is only thing there is, I can't see what it is a distraction from?

I've stood agog at the viceral texture of Van Gogh's paint. But obviously a flat print is the superior way to experience his art, then I wouldn't have been distracted by all that beautiful brushwork ;-)

By the way, do you find life itself to be a distraction from reality? Given that you hear in stereo.

Anyway, I love Mono too, when it's appropriate to the film/album and the artist's intent. I've no desire to hear pre-stereo films beefed up to 5.1 or the like, I'd rather hear the original. But if a film was conceived with decophonic sound then that's the way it should be.

The first two just get better and better as I get older but Last Crusade seems a little weak now IMO. The 4th was never any good and only gets worse.

I shall talk about random things related to Star Wars on a thread entitled General Star Wars Random thoughts.

Basically, I think I'll stay on this lawn and relax with a nice cool glass of blue milk.

Nope, you can't talk about random things in this thread, only random thoughts and those thoughts must be Star Wars related and also cover a wide spectrum of topics within the subset "Star Wars".
