Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **
Time

Chewbacca being a Wookiee (who live for centuries) means he ages at a different rate to Han. One of those interesting character questions unique to SF&F.

In the OT we were catching Han and Chewie at the moment when they were both the same age (So to speak). Equals, brothers in arms. In TFA Han is much older than Chewie and we see Chewie making sure Han wraps up warm against the cold, like a caring son. So in a young Han Solo movie will Han relate to Chewie as something of a big-brother, or even a father figure?

Am I the only person who actually prefers the '97 Jabba over the '04?

It’s certainly not cut and dry at the very least.

The 97 one is bad because they maybe didn’t have the technology to do it quite right but it looks like they tried colour/texture wise to match ROTJ. But by '04 they could have done him perfectly but it seems like they choose (Or were told) to do it all wrong. With skin textures and a colour scheme nothing like the ROTJ puppet. The lighting and integration isn’t even right.

Well, Pablo Hidalgo has given his answer to why we saw a “dish” on the Death Star framework in ROTS and the dish being installed 19 years later in the RO teaser.

Huh, it hadn’t even crossed my mind that that trailer shot directly contradicted the prequels. I just thought well that looks logical… and of course logic by it’s nature contradicts the prequels.

TFA was careful not to contradict the PT, opting instead to just ignore or not acknowledge cra*p like the midichlorians. It’ll be interesting what R1 chooses to do. I doubt it can set the film when it does and be able to fully except ROTS and ANH as both being canon. But would they go so far as to pretend the final shots of ROTS didn’t happen?

‘Star Wars Kinect’ has got to be pretty high up on the list for that Han Solo dancing game…

f

As it was the last full game published by Lucasarts before the Disney acquisition just a few months later, the suspicion has to be that GL’s thinking behind the project was “I give zero f**ks about how far this franchise is scraping the barrel right now”.

I don’t think many would be interested in slice-of-life on Tatooine type of film.

Not that it’s got anything to do with Rogue One but… that’s like saying nobody likes westerns. Just think any good western story but with blasters instead of sixshooters, Tuskans instead of bandits, speeders isntead of wagons, Ben instead of Clint. Basically the opening act of Star Wars then 😉

i was told by somebody Jyn Erso is a double agent for the empire and the Grand Admiral’s daughter but whatever… who knows…

Perhaps we need to have a stronger spoiler policy in regards to R1 (like we successfully had for TFA) because this ^ seems suspiciously like spoilering based on leaked rumours and not speculating.

I want to spend the rest of the year excitedly speculating about R1 in this thread and not being afraid to look inside it.

I like how they’ve just redressed a subway station, or something similar, for this scene. It has a nice gritty and realistic feel to it, while still looking like something from the SW universe.

Yeah I think that is canary wharf lol.

No wonder the underground is constantly closing on the weekends!

From the look, it could be any of the stations on the futuristic looking Jubilee line and the cool thing is that Secret Cinema used a Jubilee line station for their Star Wars event meeting place. I was walking round the place dressed in Star Wars gear, surrounded by other people dressed up in Star Wars costumes thinking, this totally feels like a Star Wars space station. Seeing the sequence in the movie is probably gonna be mildly surreal. Like “Was I in this scene?” 😉

By the way, I loved the Stardestroyer shot. It really felt like it had the same weight and scale of the OT shots. Nice work whoever did that. The lead character looks really interesting and different to other SW movie leads we’ve had. I’m actually stoked that the same actress is back to play Mon Mothma. She was one of the good points of the prequels, even on the cutting room floor.
