Was Jesus wrong to make the lame walk and the blind see?

The ex-leper sketch from ‘Life of Brian’ covers that pretty well 😉

Some people might not want to be “cured” because it’s part of who they are. It might not define them but it’s an important part.

I was watching that Oscar nominated Documentary ‘A Life Animated’ the other week about this guy Owen Suskind (he has Autism) and how he uses Disney films to help him relate to the world. At the end he delivers a speech on Autism to a lecture theater and writes an animated short to express himself. I know I wouldn’t have the nerve to do the first, or the creativity to do the second.

It’s a great example of how the Republican Party does not believe in Americans’ constitutional right to privacy. I’m sure the so-called strict constitutionalist conservatives like Ben Shapiro have already BSed a justification for this.

If we get Trumpy’s browser history leaked to the public, then win win. 😉

Fuck off, Trump.

I don’t think it’s wise for the media in general to go after trump for things like this and make a big fuss. I imagine it went no further with him than “A charity is asking us to do something with lights, sure why not?”. He was probably just trying to do something nice, or more likely, something that he thought would make him appear to be nice. Of course a well functioning WH should be carefully vetting what charities it chooses to endorse (odd considering how amazing Trump is at vetting I know) but concentrating on small mistakes like this just feeds that “You see! The main stream media is out to get me what ever I do!” narrative that he loves. It’s deflecting from the big mistakes he doesn’t want talked about. e.g. He hasn’t released his tax-returns yet, so stop moving onto other subjects, stick with that one until you get some answers people.

I will have to revisit this when I’m an old man, but personally I would like to save that kind of leering for younger women.

Give those dames some respect!

Younger women? Are these young enough for you?

https://www.change.org/p/daily-mail-mailonline-stop-the-daily-mail-sexualising-children

8 years old, 12 years old, 14 years old, 15 years old…

Kind of a nasty jab mate, I didn’t get that from what he was saying.

I don’t see it as a jab - it certainly wasn’t meant as one - just a question to highlight some of the content of what the Mail is about. The leering about younger women, thankfully, seems to apply to over 18’s - though not necessarily in the Daily Mail’s (or some of it’s readers) case…

Being from the UK, I immediately knew you were referring to the Daily Mail’s well known reputation for leering after underage girls (while often calling for pedophiles to me burned at the stake on the same page). Outside of the UK, people might not know this paper’s rep and might think you were insulting them, which you clearly weren’t.

For those still unclear, this clip from comedy panel show HIGNFY sums it up succinctly…

No-one said the Zero Hedge article was cool

If you either thought it was rubbish, or you didn’t actually know what it was, then why post it here?

Why not? Are you suggesting, that no other such articles have ever been posted in this thread, until now?

I don’t know what that means. There are 4 options, you posted that article because…

  1. You disgreed with the article
  2. You agreed with the article
  3. You misunderstood what the article was about, or didn’t read it properly
  4. You just copy’n’pasted a totally random part of the internet into this thread for no reason

Which is it? It would make things clearer going forward if you said which it was going to be.

They couldn’t pass Trumpcare so they’ve instead quietly gone for a bill to sell all your private browsing history for profit. Good luck with that America. Kim from NerdAlert doesn’t often get mad…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT9fFfnsQJQ

…and the list of 50 Republican Senators that Kim refrences, who are trying to do this to you…

https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/2017/03/us-senate-votes-50-48-away-broadband-privacy-rules-let-isps-telecoms-sell-internet-history/

The usual suspects. Mitch McConnell. Ted Cruz. Marco Rubio. I expected a little better from John McCain but maybe he doesn’t know what the internet is?

As a YouTube comment said…

wait till anonymous gets mad and leaks these bozos’ web history

Oh and the list of bribes she mentions too…

As far as I can tell, Rand Paul and Deb Fischer are the only ones on the pay list who did not then vote for this bill (Rand wasn’t present).

I found this while browsing today.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-03-24/general-mcinerney-says-obama-was-heavily-listening-what-was-going-trump-campaign

GUILTY of the espionage act.

Lt. Gen. Thomas Mcinerney weighed in on Devin Nunes’ bombshell revelations that said the Trump team were being spied on by the NSA/CIA – and it wasn’t Russia related. The whole cover for the surveillance was supposed to be because Trump had a bunch of Ivans working for him, but that simply wasn’t the case, or the concern, inside the Obama White House.

McInerney believes when all of the evidence comes out, Obama will rue the day he decided to spy on Trump. Moreover, he said the democrats are chimping out and fabricating a Russian spy novel in order to avoid Trump investigating the Clinton server and how both Hillary and Obama violated the espionage act, a crime punishable by heavy fines and up to 10 years in prison.

Section 793(f) of the federal penal code (Title 18): With lawful access to highly classified information she acted with gross negligence in removing and causing it to be removed it from its proper place of custody, and she transmitted it and caused it to be transmitted to others not authorized to have it, in patent violation of her trust.

I wonder if James Comey is en-route to becoming Obama/Clinton’s “Oliver North” when the dust clears.

What crazy and/or rascist website did you just link to? “Ivans” just made me laugh but “chimping out” is an often used derogatory term by horrible rascist trolls on the web.

Historian Dan Snow has the best response to Fox News’ claim that London is ‘defeated and demoralised’:-

Fox said that?! Whose side are they on? Good thing they weren’t around during the Blitz!

It was Katie Hopkins, who is (if you don’t know) a kind of British Ann Coulter-wannabe. Except unlike with Coulter who has at least some limited support in her Country (as far as I’m aware), every last person in Britain hates Hopkins’ guts with a deep and abiding passion.

Dan Snow’s video and his other twitter responses to her ignorance are very funny but it’s best to just ignore people like her because offending nice people is how she makes a living.

CNN is probably not the best source for unbiased and accurate reporting, IMO anyways.

Feel free to point out the biased and inaccurate parts of those articles.

It’s CNN, that says it all really. I picked a few paragraphs from the article below.

http://www.economist.com/node/21563298

The article and the paragraphs you posted are saying that CNN is not biased and that you are exactly wrong. You do get that right? e.g.

“CNN, you try to be unbiased”

“CNN tries to be fair”

“its non-partisan brand”

“It continues to be a haven for advertisers that do not want to associate themselves with a political agenda.”

“its reputation for serious news”

Am I missing something?

Trump has managed to find a base so stupid that he can say and do anything and they’ll keep right on supporting him.

If you think 1 person has cornered the market on stupid, talk to Bernie Sanders, ask him how he feels about being cheated by his own people.

😉 (a wink in jest)

Joking or not, it’s not a valid comparison. Sanders “base” were not thrilled when he was doing things like endorsing Hillary. Trump’s base would just keep cheering him no matter what.

Just to make sure, are you insinuating Trump’s base would still cheer him if he endorsed Hillary? I thought most of his campaign was run on the fact that he wasn’t Hillary.

I wouldn’t be surprised at this stage.

Jetrell Fo said:

Trump is President due to the stupidity of Clinton and the DNC, not because Americans that voted for Trump are mindless idiots, and your suggestion they are is disappointing.

I didn’t suggest that all “Americans that voted for Trump are mindless idiots”, just his “base”, although now you mention it…

Even Trump thinks his base are “mindless idiots”. Why else would he keep lying to their faces, after he has already revealed the truth to the press like in that clip I linked to.

An interesting little MSNBC video about Trump lying to his supporters repeatedly, then admitting he was lying to them, then still telling them the same lie… and them continuing to cheer him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q49R5hScXKM

For decades politicians have had to be careful to keep their “base” on side but Trump has managed to find a base so stupid that he can say and do anything and they’ll keep right on supporting him. He is a political genius in some respects.

(btw it’s kinda weird that Chris Hayes always tells the viewers to “just blow me” at the end of every MSNBC video?)

Stay classy, Trump Jr!

Someone needs to tell him that when he says dumb things, it reflects badly on dear ol’ dad.

From what I’ve seen of Jr in the past (long before the Presidential run) he always gives you the feeling that his eyes are maybe faintly glowing fire-red and ‘Carmina Burana’ is playing somewhere in the background. Somewhat similar to the Murdoch family… you think Rupert is bad, until you get to know his son James.

All you need to say on a day like this is something simple like…

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2017/03/16/house-intel-chair-its-possible-trump-tower-was-under-surveillance-n2300197

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., pushed back against his Senate counterparts’ categorical conclusion that Trump Tower was never under surveillance during the campaign or presidential transition.

Nunes stood by his Wednesday assertion that there was no “physical” wiretap on then-candidate and President-elect Trump. But beyond that, he said, is unknowable.

[…]

There was no “physical” wiretap on Trump but “you can’t rule out surveillance because we know for a fact that they picked up incidental collection on General Flynn—now we don’t know if that was it,” Nunes told reporters on Thursday.

The light still being on inside my fridge is “unknowable” but it doesn’t mean it is.
