I wonder how things would have turned out had everyone - after reading the novel Dracula when it was first published - come away with the idea that "Dracula" was actually not a name but a title all vampires used. Probably the idea would have only gained more-and-more prominence until it became holy writ, leading almost all vampire characters in later works of fiction to bear the "Dracula" name along with their own. There would have been a Dracula Orlok, Dracula Blackula, Dracula Count, Dracula Edward, etc.

It would have been so unbelievably fucking stupid.

Hey you forgot about this guy! (Tut tut tut) lol

Dammit will people on this forum stop posting YouTube links to awesome intro clips from 80s cartoon shows! I end up losing an hour browsing YouTube for similar clips! ;-)

Here's an idea to solve the "What was it that Threepio saw?!?!?" debate. I've made up blank comic book panels for those of you with a sense of humour and a dab of artistic talent...

Either paste somebody or something over this middle panel ^ or,

Paste in a shot from another movie over this ^.

(Click images ^ to see larger versions) Post your ideas... winner gets a case of vintage Jawa-Juice.

I don't buy the financial argumment for a second.

TPM:3D took an additional $102,727,119 worldwide. Now that's a release of a Star Wars film everybody hates, in a format everybody hates. Imagine if the fully restored ESB that everybody loves was released in a format everybody loves like 70mm on iMAX screens = A licence to print money

ESB returned it's entire production budget (and more) in a single weekend in 1997.

Scorcese's Film Foundation quotes full restorations as costing hundreds of thousands of dollars not hundreds of millions. But again even if the restoration costs 10 or 20 million dollars. They would make that back in a day!

Yes to British ears those accents sound damned menacing in the context of that seedy Cantina. Like the bartender is a futureistic Kray era gangster. Same with Dr Evizan's cockney accent sounding better in the rough cut. I end up imagining that if Ben hadn't pulled out his Sabre they were gonna give Luke a Chelsea smile lol

^ "You just watch yourself. We're wanted men. I have the death sentence on twelve systems"

Although obviously David Prowse's voice needed changing... a Bristol Vader would have been frickin' insane.

^ Princess Leia ("Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?")

Kurosawa's 1958 film 'The Hidden Fortress'.

I don't think you can really describe robots as slaves. They were built for their specific duty. They weren't kidnapped from a planet where robots of all kinds roam free and do as they wish and forced into a life of servitude. :-D
As far as you know.

Good point, 005. A natural origin for most droids would help explain 3P0's line in AOTC:

"Droids making droids?! How perverse!"

NOTHING can explain Threepios dialogue in AOTC ;-)

What actor/actress would you like to see in new Star Wars Movies?

Yeah, Wedge has got to be in the movie. Maybe he's an admiral by now? They could probably lure Lawson back with promise of going out in a blaze of glory or something. If Wedge buys the moisture farm, then none of our heroes are safe!

Whoever it is, somebody we love needs to die in the first third of Episode VII, to give the (Presumeably peaceful) galaxy a shake up.

^   I could put money on JJ opening his trilogy with a set-piece like this

How about Michael Fassbender, he's great in everything, even poorly recieved movies. He adds a touch of class. Typical reviews go...

"I didn't care for Prometheus/X-Men:First Class/Inglourious Basterds but the film is still worth seeing just for Michael Fassbender"

He'd make an awesome Sith Lord or Imperial Admiral. Ooooooh look, somebody else on the intra-web has had the same idea...
