This would be difficult to do since it would maybe change the timing but I’ll keep this in mind though and see if others feel the same way. I personally like how the track starts as Kylo declares what he truly desires. Maybe just fading it in a tad more? Thanks for the suggestion!

Fading it earlier would work too. I don’t want it to be retimed because the music fits every moment on-screen perfectly.

Any thought on removing the “Lifting rocks” line when Rey does lift rocks at the end of the film? It felt too on the nose, if the shot before transitioning to Luke and Kylo was just her facing the boulders, I think it would work a lot better.

Obviously you know your edit better than anyone else, but I think it would be good to use a few of Finn’s deleted scenes. He was a massive part of the last movie and in the theatrical release of TLJ he seemed relegated to a side role, so with even more cuts to this, it’ll feel a bit rough.

I think retaining Luke and Leia’s connection is really important. It gives Luke one of his best moments in the saga when he freaks out at Vader taunting him. I also don’t really think having Vader be “The other” works. I like Luke being the only one to see good in his father, and if Yoda knows that Vader can be turned halfway through Empire, it loses some of the impact of Luke being on his own.

I actually hope that Yoda’s force ghost effects are left untouched. Force Ghosts always grow to look more real as the person seeing them gets more powerful in the Force. In ANH, all Luke can interact with is a voice, in ESB, it’s a faint, fleeting vision, and after his Dagobah training, the ghosts become much more solid and able to interact with things, or in Obi-Wan’s case, sit down. So it’s a good progression that in TLJ, the Force Ghosts may as well be living beings, as Luke has only gotten more powerful.

This is one thing I’ve been thinking about, but for different reasons. I really want to get rid of Finn wanting to desert the Resistance and just hop in an escape pod, but it’s where he meets Rose, so it’s integral to the plot.

I think it would fix a huge majority of the movie’s most glaring problems, with the smallest amount of effort required.

I think Leia’s spacewalk is one of the biggest factors of people losing the plot in the theaters. It’s just so dumb…

I haven’t encountered a single person in my circle who liked it. Most either disliked it, or outright hated it.

I think this would be the quickest change anyone should do when starting an edit of this movie. Blow that piece of junk… OUT OF THE SKY!

One idea I had for a radical restructure is using TFA Restructured as a base, and instead of having the opening attack on the dreadnought in TLJ, have the attack everyone is infuriated about be the destruction of Starkiller Base and the Republic. Leia can still be pissed at Poe for the loss of life, and he can still be cocky about it, since he destroyed the superweapon. Either way, it’s going to be really fun to play around with both films.

Really good crawl, but saying “the WORLD is become undone” seems a bit silly. Like when Padme says “this is a real world, Anakin” in AotC.

LucasFilm and Disney have already unintentionally admitted they can release the OUT. In Rogue One we see Red and Gold Leader, Garett Edwards said that this was unused footage from Episode IV. So if they can make old, grainy, film from 1977 seamlessly blend into a major 2016 blockbuster with no one noticing, they can absolutely restore one of the highest grossing films of all time. Lucas’ lie about how the originals are in no shape to be restored is BS and everyone knows it.

I find it kind of funny that Kathleen Kennedy said Rogue One was a risk. I mean c’mon, a Star Wars movie with Darth Vader is a risk?
