It is a dark time for the Republic. A decade after the battle of Naboo, thousands of star systems have broken away into a separatist movement, led by the nefarious Count Dooku.
Fearing attack, the Galactic Senate has commissioned the creation of a CLONE ARMY on the remote world of Kamino and now debates countering the separatists with military force.
Leading the opposition to war, Senator Amidala is returning to Coruscant to seek help from the Jedi Knights, who may be the last hope for peace in the galaxy....
I like the first two paragraphs. The third is a little weak - it should sound more imperative. How about:
Leading the opposition to war, Senator Amidala is returning to Coruscant to seek help from the Jedi Knights, who may be the last hope for peace in the galaxy....

To my eyes, 11B is perfect - or at least as good as it can get (the only thing that hasn't been experimented with is making the outer "Star Wars" box outline rather than solid). All the 11s look professional to me, while all the 12s look amateur. I think this is because of the squashed top row. Differently scaled lettering is fine, but you shouldn't mess with the (ahem) aspect ratio. None of the OT logos do, not even the "Faces" ones. Not that they should be used as a reference, IMHO, since they are the SE logos.
So 11B is my choice. Ultimately, though, there is only one opinion that counts - Trooperman's.
It was Leia's foresight (force-sight?) that saved the DS plans from falling back into the hands of the Empire and brought Obi-Wan and Luke (who saved the rebellion) into the equation. Plus what Sluggo said.
As far as Lando goes, someone must've told them about his little maneuver at the battle of Tanaab.
Well, in TM's versions "Shroud" has been squashed vertically to fit under the bar, which doesn't look good. MTH's version, where the lettering is only scaled, looks better graphically, but "Shroud" is bigger than "Dark Side."
I agree that the rationales and references to previous logos can only go so far. Ultimately, you need to pick the one that looks best and reads easiest, and that is, IMHO, Klokwerk 9b or 10b.
10b is the best Klokwerk one so far. But I agree with Sluggo - a bar below demands a bar above. Trooperman showed this in his best so far (#3) along with the stacked "of the."
The problem with the stacked "of the" is that it makes "Shroud" bigger than "Dark Side" which is not good. If you look at the ROTJ logo, you'll see that "of the" is only stacked in the one-line logo, not the box logo, which has "Return of the" all equally sized and "Jedi" bigger.
Should the first "S" form the top bar? That was done in the ESB logo, IMHO, to accomodate "The" without shrinking "Empire." It looks okay because the bar is broken up by "The." I don't think it looks so good having the "S" form an unbroken bar.
You could put a bar between "Shroud" and "Dark Side," broken up by "of the" but then you're back to the problem of "Shroud" being too big.
So, for all the above reasons I nominate either Klokwerk #9b, as is, or Klockwerk #10b with another bar above "Shroud," but not made from the "S."
#8 is really good - almost perfect. I think Auximenies is right about the sides though - they should slant too.
2 other tiny things: I think the central crossbar of the "E" should be equal length to the others, and I'd like it if "Star Wars" was broken up, with "Star" at the top and "Wars" below the main logo, a la ESB. Also, "Shroud of the" looks stretched widthways compared to "Dark Side" and is sloping very slightly more. Okay, that was three things. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
klokwerk, nice work on the logo. However, one of the things that made the OT logos interesting was that they were all different (unlike the PT logos). The main SW font is not the best choice, IMHO, for an episode logo. What they've done on the wallpaper you linked to is make the AOTC logo look like the ESB logo, which kind of works as they are both middle episodes. I think that italic font (which isn't a font really) would look better than what you have. But then you'd have to do Ep I like SW and Ep III like ROTJ... So you might consider just coming up with an original logo, as long as it has the SW box/lines, like the ESB & ROTJ logos.
The painted theatrical poster used in klokwerk's earlier cover looks pretty OT to me. It's way better than the official DVD cover. I've never seen a photo photoshopped to look like a painting that looked good.
Having a name that's difficult to pronounce or spell is no impediment to film industry success. If anything, it's the opposite. You're going to want people to remember you and people remember unusual names much more easily.
However if you want to change it, but you're worried about how your mom and stepdad would feel, I'd advise you to talk to them about it first - perhaps just your mom initially. That way you'll know how they'll feel, which will help with your ultimate decision. Okay, bringing up the subject may be a little upsetting in itself, but not nearly as bad as just doing it. And you might find that they don't object at all, which will make your life simple.
