Which of the 6 films is your favorite?

this is simple! ESB hands down! 1. it was the only one directed by a director who understood how to develop characters. 2. It was written by two of the greatest script writers of all. 3. It ended in such an unexpected way, it made you want to see the sequel right away. Now tell me what other movie has made you want to see the sequel right away in star wars?

lol, sounds like something everyone should see at least once. I've not seen anything like that over here in the states. And rtust me, it would have been at a comic con if we did. We get everything at the comic cons over here. Except the Motor City Con. That one rarely has anything to do with comics anymore.

hmm.. didn't notice the voice all that much. I loved the part where he interogates that cop at the top of that building though. He just screams right in his face! Great stuff. I can't wait for the next one to come out. We saw some of the bat, but the next one will have alot more of the bat in it than this one did.

Computer & Camera Advice

I'm also an editor and I have to concure with Mackey. An Apple would be best and can go a long way for you. He's right about the avid setup being cheap for the Windows-based user. I recommend going to Journey Education's website and looking around. They give great software to students for cheaper prices. Mind you, the software licence you are purchasing there is a student licence and not a full retail. Go to Avid's site as well. On the Mac side, you could get a small powerbook for about $1,200 and you could pic up Final Cut Express for around $250 I think. The machine you're leaning toward looks good, but I recommend going to www.pixelmonger.com and check out the reviews that Scott gives about the Sony. I think it was pretty positive if I recall... Premiere is good as well, so you've got alot of choices. I also prefer tape over DVD's, then again, it depends on what kind of tape we're talking about. That's a whole technical thing that I won't get into right now. Just keep in mind that it's all about compression.
As far as cameras, I'd have to say The GL2 is good. It really depends on your budget and how far you want the look to go. pixelmonger also has reviews on all these cameras. Just keep in mind that Scott is gearing his site towards acheiving a film quality image with video gear.
I know that this post is long, but I hope it help you. And Mackey, we should swap stories and stuff.

well, it's good to know these things and anyways, the reason I asked is that my boss happens to like that style of documentary. He recently said that he wants me to shoot in that style of shooting mixed with the "Home Project" style shows like Extreme Makeover and Trading Spaces. they also like the four-in-one editing effect. What he wants this used for is a documentary that I'm doing on the church being re-modeled. I know that that style is gettin old but he wants to use it cause you don't see it that much in Church videos. They want to get away from "religious"-type styles and go for something different. Thing is this isn't all that different any more. But I haven't been shooting in that style thus far and I let him know that. The finished product is going to have a noticable difference midway through. But at the same time, it's nice to learn something different and expand my knowledge of my craft a bit
