From what I’ve heard Looper is a very interesting movie so if anything we should be getting a “radical” film. Though whether it will be a well written film is another matter entirely

He also directed ‘Fly’ from Breaking Bad, which, boiled down, is essentially just two men trapped in a room with a fly stretched out for an hour, and it turned out to be one of the best episodes of the entire series.

How the shit did you forget Ozymandias?

I never watched Season 5

What!? You need to watch it, seriously. It’s the best last season of any TV show ever.

Eh, I’ve watched the first few episodes and never felt compelled to finish it. Season 4 ended perfectly with an amazing build-up, climax, and one of the most satisfying resolutions in any TV series. From what I’ve seen of Season 5, it just felt kinda forced and unnecessary, and a total mood killer after binging the first 4.

As great as the Season 4 finale was you don’t want to see how the overall story ends?

From what I remember of the spoilers, essentially everyone dies iirc, so yeah, meh.

It doesn’t. Amazon is using the wrong photo.

There were multiple store exclusives. Wal Mart had them packed with reprints of the Marvel adaptations.

I remember seeing sets like that in WalMart back around '06/'07, but instead of comics/books bundled, it was action figures. Still kicking myself I never got them (I was young, but they were cheap)

The fact that this forum was seemingly made to get the Out
re released on a decent format reaffirms for me that there will only ever be 3, true star wars films. The rest are ‘cover’ versions.

that all the other films never happened.

If only this was true. I think any classic film(s) should be protected. I’d hate to see another Godfather for example. I’m dreading Blade Runner 2!

“Protected” from sequels? Ehhhh…I will argue that films should be preserved, regardless of quality. Ex., the prequels’ original cuts, hell I’d even defend shit like the Super Mario Bros Movie (which I’m still waiting for a region-free bluray of).

However, sequels/remakes should be fair game. It’s up to the filmmakers whether it’s good or not, if it is, well no complaints here. If it’s bad…just let it fade out of existence like most shit films. For instance, the Ghostbusters reboot. If all that hate boner-ism wasn’t built up around it, it would’ve came and gone, the only impression left being Ecto Cooler and an awful Rotten Tomatoes score. Oh wait, that’s already happening. So much for all that time, energy, and vitriol all it’s detractors poured into it.

So remaking Psycho, shot for shot is okay? Copies of masterpiece paintings are called fakes! Is film not art?

I genuinely forgot that even existed. You have to dig for examples, yet prove my point even further.

If it turns out great: they’ll find literally anything to bitch and moan about it
If it turns out shit: nothing but confirmation bias for all eternity

I just don’t understand how some can live life in such an all-encompassing state of hatred and misery for something as petty as a bunch of movies

Have you met Star Wars fans?

well what the hell is this site then?

Original trilogy forum apparently?

It’s…a star wars fan site…that’s like being a mechanic working at a garage and someone asks you if you’ve ever met mechanic

I just mean this is what Star Wars fans do and have been doing for quite some time.

In regards to the prequels, yeah, sure, I was even in that boat for a while before I started taking a slight liking to TPM. But on films that don’t even exist yet, and to the degree of some on here? I don’t smell that kinda stench even from the vocal minority of the larger fanbase. Case in point: imperialscum’s last post on this thread. Lordy have mercy on yall.

That doesn’t look good. Keep in mind though that the blu-ray image appears to have been zoomed in, so it’s hard to say. Why is the iTunes HD copy different? Did they release a better version in HD? This may be an example of a really bad transfer in the early days of blu-ray that got remedied years later. This happened a lot, two that I can think of that were released in poor quality and then remedied later were Gladiator and Lethal Weapon.

The iTunes is I think a different resolution. Bluray screenshot is not zoomed in. That’s how it really looks: http://images3.static-bluray.com/reviews/8452_13_1080p.jpg

Has Disney ever actually released a really poor-quality, sub-par blu ray? Don’t give me anything about their classic animated features supposedly having “inaccurate” colors either, I’m talking about something like the first Lethal Weapon blu-ray, or Alfred Hitchcock’s Family Plot, which both had really weak transfers.

Some of their animated films got hit hard by DNR, especially the Sword in the Stone. Like by god, that one got royally fucked up.

I will not give up on the Original Trilogy. We’ve made too many compromises already; too many retreats. Lucas let Greedo shot first and we fall back. He inserts Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn at the 40th anniversary of STAR WARS! This far, no further! And I will not buy another Special Edition release!

Quoting Star Trek in defense of Star Wars. Truly, what a time to be alive.

I got it from this thread http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/The-Retro-Star-Wars-Thread/id/51402/page/2

…however, the original image seems to be gone. It was definitely a Japanese promo artwork of some kind. It probably looks like MAD because of his drunken smile, which is why it is my avatar in the first place 😃

Was it from this piece? http://s637.photobucket.com/user/define999/media/define999013/mural_Japanese_star_wars1.jpg.html

I’ve been digging trying to find it, and that’s all I can come up with. No pics of the adjoining page.
