Despite awaiting it eagerly since it was first announced here, I have only recently gotten around to acquiring v1.0.

It’s gorgeous. Fantastic clarity and detail, color feels right - I actually prefer the slightly desaturated filmic look even to Despecialized. If Lucasfilm released this on Blu-ray, I wouldn’t complain.

I honestly feel it’s the most correct-looking version of the film I’ve ever seen.

I’d love to see v1.6 but I don’t see a Spleen invite in my near future, and I’m more than happy. hopefully the ISO or at least an MKV will show up somewhere else in the future.

Paradox.

I’m having trouble with the SW 50g disc. I’ve tried to burn it 3 times - but it doesn’t seem to play correctly. I’ve burned twice with dvdfab and once with IMG burn. Not sure what the problem is. I downloaded from Mega. 😕

In what way doesn’t it play correctly? Does it play at all?

What player are you using?

If anyone who has already downloaded the current 50gb ESB has found any other issues or has feedback please let me know. Now would be the time!

I haven’t noticed anything off, it’s fantastic. Then again I didn’t notice any typos or audio options missing either, so I guess I’m not the sharpest eye out there.

Either way I’ll happily re-DL the “fixed” version once you get it on Mega, just to satisfy my OCD.

Where do you get printable discs? Amazon?

I don’t get them from Amazon because often, when they’re not sold by Amazon (and for specialized discs like these they are not sold by Amazon the vast majority of the time), they are sold by 3rd party sellers which repackage faulty or used stock and sell it as new.

I buy Falcons from: http://www.cdrom2go.com/product/falcon-pro-3070606504000754-bd-r-with-smart-guard-white-inkjet-hub-printable-4x_2110_863.htm

And PlexDiscs from: http://www.genesysdtp.com/plexdisc645-C12.htm

Just watched Star Wars with my father and my brother. They were both amazed at how well it was put together. I am too. But I need a way to print custom stickers for the DVD, anybody know how?
Thanks in advanced for any advice 😃

Honestly, I wouldn’t use labels/stickers at all. They can upset the balance of the mechanism that spins the disc in your player, over time… their weight is not negligible and they can never be applied truly evenly.
The best bet is to print directly to disc, there are hundreds of options. I use an Epson Artisan 730 printer, and it’s reliably accurate within 1/2 of a mm when printing directly to a disc, so it’s always pretty much fucking spot on all the time. I’ve had mine for a few years, never has a single problem with it. The Epson has an actual disc tray, and software for specifying the label size. So, it’s just a matter of pressing a button on the front of the printer, putting the disc in the tray, and pressing “print”. That’s just for the disc art, when it comes to printing out actual sleeve inserts it can also print dual sided, so that’s how I printed and interior and exterior to the BD cover. The pics I took are blurry for whatever reason, but in actuality they’re razor sharp.

I only use waterproof/smart guard/ liquidproof/ blah blah blah discs because I like the retail finish and durability - and I like the fact that it’s finger-proof, smudge-proof, etc. For single layer 25gb discs (like the doc disc above) I use Falcon Pro SmartGuards - tech licensed from TDK and absolute top of the line quality. For dual 50gb discs, when it comes to waterproof finishes, unfortunately, the options are limited. I use PlexDisc. Rock solid burn reliability and the disc finish rivals the Falcons but they source their raw media/discs from Ritek (which has serious issues with media longevity.) Still, for right now, they’re the only player in the game for dual 50gb water/smudge/finger/proof BD’s.

I’ve also had a few right now, so I realize I’m rambling and taking up real estate I have no right to.

I finally put together the latest discs using cover and disc art I shamelessly stole from more creative members here:

Yes

The release is fantastic man, I love it. The main 50gb release with 2.7 and the special features is extremely professionally done, I love the retro-trailer menu and the interface in general, the doc disc is fantastic too, with Empire of Dreams and that awesome old making of from the late 70’s.

Fantastic job man. Please keep me included on the PM’s for Empire when you do it, it’s fucking great.

I popped in my legit retail BD of Lethal Weapon to see if it had the same problem and it wasn’t as bad but then I also photoshopped Mel Gibson’s eyes so they were looking in different directions and I could start to tell it had the same problem too.
Example

Just a quick heads up, don’t know if this can be taken care of in 3.0 or not.

New Avatar Found.

drifiting a bit off-topic, you can actually see David Prowse behind the Darth Vader (like you already know 😐) just a little thing I spotted while watching 2.7.

He never wants to say anything, he just likes to post random irrelevance.

Seriously don’t be a dickhead Frink he’s just trying to be helpful.

Anyway Harmy I noticed in 2.5 that if I freeze a frame of Mark Hamill, tweak the contrast, and then photoshop his mouth upside down it looks a little bit mental. I then popped in Empire 2.0 to see if I could recreate the issue and sure enough it looks like that release is affected as well.

Personally, I believe the name Team Negative 1 is no longer relevant since poita and Williarob et al. (re: the anonymous contributors) are pretty much the main players here

Agreed. Seems to me like Rob and poita are carrying the load, as in managing the whole fucking thing, as in doing everything… seems a disservice to assign credit to another… But hey. Maybe that’s just me. I am drunk by the way.
