Of course! The feedback has been great. I wish I was good enough at effects to fix some other little niggly things that bother me (the stupid aliens in Jabba's palace, the reuse of the Greedo costume, etc.) but that's not something I really want to get into. All of the changes to the story I wanted to make, I have found a way to do, plus some ideas i got solely through feedback.

I don't know of this Editdroid soundtrack, but I have an HD GOUT copy that I got from tehparadox that has 5.1. would that help?

Just a bit of an update on this.

It's definitely going to happen, but I need to be able to capture the gameply footage in good quality of I'm never going to be happy with the results. I intend to purchase an HD capture card for my PC so that I can do this, but I don't have the money right this second for that.

So I'm probably going to do The Phantom Menace and maybe another quick edit before I get to this. Sorry to delay it, but if I can't do it right I'd rather not do it at all.

I agree that we, as editors, really don't have any ownership of our work, but I do believe in our little "honor among theives" code of at least asking. Almost every time I'm asked, I say yes, and I would be fine with fishmanlee using any of my ideas, as after he does what he wants with them my original edits will still be around. Kind of like SE vs. OUT. You may hate the SE's, but at the end of the day, the OUT still exist.

Though I do take issue with billing it as being related to Revisited, especially since Ady puts so much work into these edits. fishmanlee, if you make sure there is no confusion and kindly ask the editors you are using ideas from if they are fine with it, i can't see why you'd have any further problems.

I'm using a line about the Rebels before we go into the Luke stuff. Again, I have to set up Luke/Leia/Lando/Chewie really clearly, while having a galaxy wide beginning and ending with the Death Star. It's tough, and I've got it in the format as much as I can, but it's more important to me to set up the information clearly.

And I know someone right after this post will say something like "I know you don't want anymore suggestions... but..." I know you're tempted, but don't do it! I will get all Adywan on your asses!

That's been removed from the scene on Dagobah. Yoda still tells him that in order to completely be a Jedi, he must confront Vader, but that's a different context. Plus I removed the bit in the crawl about "knowing he must face Darth Vader."

The crawl is in, and bob just sent me an update on the Death Star shots. They're looking really good! It's all coming together. I'm scrambling to meet my release date, but I think I might just get there by the skin of my teeth.

Don't get me wrong, all of your input just helped me get the crawl where I wanted it to be. If I didn't want feedback, I wouldn't put this stuff on here. But I have a habit of looking at these things too much sometimes, and I think you can easily work on something to the point of ruining it. I don't want to do that. When things get to a point I'm happy with, i stop, even if there are ways to "improve" it.

I'm using a lot of that with a couple slight alterations.

I think this is what I'm going with. Sort of a combination of everyones ideas.

Well, you have sort of contradicted yourself. As I am starting on the Death Star, my last paragraph should be about that, which it is. But it's also the matter of galactic importance, and therefore by your rationale should be first.

I don't have a lot of time to put all this out there, and I have things I need to set up. This seemingly "defined structure" of opening crawls is intriguing, but ultimately unnecessary to me. The crawl serves a simple point, and that is to set the story up so the viewer knows what's going on. And I think if anyone is watching the edit, reads the crawl, feels they know what's going on, and enjoys the rest of the movie, it has served its purpose.

I appreciate where you're coming from and thank you for the feedback, but getting the crawl "trilogy accurate" isn't really a priority for me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you are a Star Wars fan that requires continuity, exact replication or other "purism" you may want to look elsewhere as far as Return of the Jedi edits go.

And in this case, I like that it starts with the personal. That's a big theme with the entire edit. Make it personal. Make it emotional. Make you feel something.

Oh sorry, didn't see your post. First scene is the same as usual, it goes to Vader arriving at the Death Star. After that to Dagobah. Once Yoda dies, it goes to Tattooine with Leia defrosting Han.

This is my combination of everyones ideas. If L8wrtr decides he wouldn't mind doing one last pass, this is what I think will work the best.

I see what you mean, but the original crawl for ROTJ wasn't as interesting as the other films as well. I really just want to make sure i set up the story correctly, that's the goal. If it isn't as exciting to read, that's fine, but it has to give you a clear idea of where all of our main players are as the story starts, especially since so much is different.

Haha I've never noticed that before. If we do decide to redo it I'll mention that to L8wrtr. I'm leaving the decision to him as far as whether it gets redone, as he has to do it.

Today I did some of my abandoned concepts special feature, which is fun. I'm basically talking about things I did tests for but ended up not using.

Commentary is nearly done. DVD Menu's are finished. Color correction is finished. Jabba's subtitles are finished. All the sound editing is done.

Basically, what's left is to finish my bonus features, finish the end credits, and plug in Bobgarcia74's shots.

There's a possibility it might get cleaned up a bit more to be a little less wordy, but we'll see.

Yeah they originally had quite a lot of dialogue at the beginning of the scene, but I like the idea of them working together organically, like cool badass force siblings should. I'm glad that got a little laugh, it gets me too. I see what you mean with the music, but I'm really a fan of how it plays currently.

I got the new crawl, it's exactly what i want it to be, but it's a bit logner than the usual crawl. It kind of has to be, I have to set up a bit more than the original version does. To make it fit I had to speed it up a little, but not so much that it becomes difficult to read. I tried to have it fit the music as best as I could, it just doesn't fit exactly like the original crawls. Again, if you're a serious purist this might upset you, but this edit isn't for serious purists anyway.

Yeah, I honestly don't even know exactly what tracks he used. Our conversations are usually "I don't know if it's possible, but can you do this?" and he says "Of course" and then 10 minutes later he sends it to me.

How come every time I use my phone to post, it double posts? Annoying.
