Bingowings said:I like the general idea SSWR but I still think it's too much information.
We know from Leia in ROTJ she dies when she is very young, my earliest memories are from when I was about two but they are very vague so shifting it up to about three years later sort of makes sense.
If this was done as a time shifting montage her niece could be Leia (though we don't know that at the time) if she doesn't turn up in a reworked Episode II.
The explanation that Leia gives could act as a explanation of the scene we see in a reworked ROTS.
Thanks for the feedback, Bingo. Are you saying one of Padme's nieces (from AOTC deleted scene or ROTS funeral scene) could possibly be mis-interpreted (to our advantage) as Liea in the OT? So once ROTJ rolls around we finally find out about the Luke/Liea relationship? Hmmm...this is not something I've ever heard before.
I personally don't like the time shifting montage idea...not very Star Wars-y...plus (and I think we feel the same way on this) we don't won't to give away too much information...we don't want to spell everything out.
Did you really feel the dialouge I came up with spelled everything out too much? I figured we have to kill off Padme somehow...or make it obvious she's not gonna make it much longer. She's an important character after all...
...but then again the same could be said for Yoda...and I am definantly against having it spelled out to us that Yoda stays on Dagobah until ESB. My 2 cents. :P
Bingowings said:I suggested before showing Padme in labour (no mention of twins) but not including the naming and dying on the spot.
That way Padme can still die on Alderaan when Leia is a little girl and the identity of the child is still obscured.
Obscuring the identity of Vader has been covered but it seems more tricky to me (more ideas needed there).
I'm slowing working on an updated version of this idea...only I still show Padme giving birth-...well...sort of...it's kind of in the background...and you still don't know it's twins.
I then have the droid saying something like:
"the delivery took an unexpected toll on her body. She may not live very long."
"she's dying?"
"Slowly. It could be a few months...maybe a year."
Would something like this work? Thoughts?
That list looks great! :D
I've been meaning to post this picture for a few weeks:
I've always really liked the shot of this ship in the hanger bay...always thought it had great scale...a nicely composed shot...very ANH concept art...plus it doesn't look like crappy CGI. But I've always wanted that shot to last a little longer.
Maybe this shot of the droid directing the Jedi could be rotoscoped to here?
brash_stryker said:SSWR. Thanks for the comment. For some reason Youtube won't let me reply to you, and I JUST realised this is a change already implemented in your AOTC Fan-o-matic. D'oh!
Oh believe me, this is not something I came up with...it's been around for a while...
But yeah thanks! :D
By-the-way, I actually *did* get your reply on youtube... :D

This is some kind of wondeful, Angel! :D
Although, I like the idea from Davnes007....green might look cool and unsettleing...kind of a Matrix look? I'm thinking specifically the blue pannels could be green...?
vaderios said:I did some tests to remove that dreamy wtf fog and replace it with something more like pollution and fog.
That goes to SWWR specially ;)
I havent forget you request for space mockups my friend. Still im experiment with several shit ;)

Dude! I love the polution look to this scene! I always thought that courascant would start to look like this by the end of the PT...but it didn't :P
Angel, I am touched! You remember me! ;)
I like the ROTS Vader shot too!....are you going to attempt to add the shipyard/star destoryer stuff in the background?
Bingowings said:Is there a workable solution, like a suitable backshot of the ROTJ helmet that can be matched into position and have the general profile of the reflections mapped over it?
Some might say with some justification that it doesn't really matter but it does highlight how many corners were cut in the making of ROTJ.
Would it have cost so much to film anyone against the window for a unique shot?
It would be nice if we had a similar shot of Luke meditating on the future like he does in ANH.
The PT sets this up as a family trait but maybe Yoda's teaching has beaten it out of Luke.
If not it might be nice to start a Fan-O-Matic style Dagobah sequence with Luke outside looking up at the sky and then over to Yoda's hut before him going outside for Yoda's death scene (which might be adapted from the lights fading sequence in the theatrical version).
Hmmm...I really like that idea...especially becuase Vader is doing this in the same film.
There might be a couple of shots you could modify to make this work...but the one that comes to mind is the one of Luke going under his xwing to R2. ("I can't do it, R2.")
He looks off towards Yodas hut...but maybe we could modify it so he's looking out towards the sky...
This is kind of what I intended in my Fan-O-Matic...only it's on Tatooine...and I didn't really didn't sell it that well... :P
I'm with EyeShotFirst. Save it for the OT.
It sounds like you're on the right track, Angel. It doesn't have to be the "money shot" of the whole movie. Just an impressive shot.
Maybe you can give it an OT feeling by mimicing the shot composition from shots from the OT...or just mimic some Ralph Mcquaire paintings...did that make sense? The way they use to compose the shots in the OT would have massive scale.
lol at Bingowings! Exactly! :D

Hey awesome.
i like it!
reduces the childish feeling and adds a more Solo thing.

Thanks Angel!...it was all in fun really...
New video...

But in all seriousness, I've been recently inspired by everyone here in this thread to do some more work on my ROTJ Fan-O-Matic.
I had been fed up with Endor...Ewoks...timeline stuff....but I think I've found some new ideas that might work...we'll see ;)
Thanks for the feedback guys!
Yeah, I agree with you, Monroville. Yeah the timeline would have to make it seem like some time has past. You don't want her dressed in one outfit and then one mintue later in a completely different outfit...
Nice, Angel... ;)
I'd have to agree with Darth Venal about the emperor and the death star. I've always like how anti-climatic a death it is...dust in the wind, if you will. ;)
I don't mean to make this about me...although I had a question...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHxbhpMowpk&feature=channel_page
Regardless of whether you liked the execution of the video, do you think something along these lines might help improve the movie?
I mean, does anyone agree that it's weird just having Liea pop up in the Ewok village all dressed up in a different outfit with no explination?
I guess what really bugs me is that there is not enough interaction between the the three main characters. Like, how about something like, "Liea! How did you get here?" "Liea! That hair style makes you look old!" ;)
So again, would something like watching Liea go into the village help smooth the transition to Ewok Village Outfit Liea? ;)
OK I feel stupid! I'll post it in the correct thread! :)

Darth Venal said:Wow, Angel, those are fantastic. What did you use for all the metalwork?
I would LOVE to see one of those with a laser out into it. Awesome stuff.
SomethingStarWarsRelated:I certainly don't know this stuff like Angel does...but I would tend to agree with him...
Yeah, it looks a little too saturated...the greens...
But wow! How do you take a crappy screen cap like that and turn it into what you have? specifically how did you sharpen the image? Did you simply use the sharpening tool?
Great stuff!
Actually, I repainted the entire thing, except for the foreground trees, where I painted one and pasted it for speed. Trust me, there is no sharpening tool in the world that can do that. I repainted the Star Trek logo, too, but that was very easy in comparison. Regarding the greens, unfortunately scaling it down into a jpeg changes the way it looks. Bear in mind that the original image is over eight times larger, and the greens are far more varied at that level; you can even see blades of grass under the trees. It's too bad that you can't see all the detail at this level.
Thanks for the feedback!
Repainted the entire thing? woah! How long did it take you?
Yeah, I didn't think it could be the sharening tool...
Ah, I didn't even think about the whole scaling down the image business.
So will we get to see this never ending story edit?
Thanks for replying!
vaderios said:Cheers :)
Now ontopic.
I started a new superlaser interior that looks incomplete and more "organic"
Its still wip and the gunners section is temp. I was wondering if someone with better English than me can tell me when i can find panels with lights like we see it in ANH and nuclear factories

Holy crap! LOVE IT! I don't mean to sound like a broken record but I hope Adywan does something like this in ROTJ! ;)

New radical idea for ROTJ!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHxbhpMowpk&feature=channel_page
Make sure and read the info on the right to see where I'm going with this...
Darth Venal, I love your two pics!
The Tatoonie shot is looking good...I like the idea of the opening for the sail barge to emerge...I'm just not sure about using that same shot from AOTC...can't decide...
And the death star/shuttle shot looks great! Although I do see where 005 is coming from... :D
Bingowings said:SomethingStarWarsRelated said:Bingowings said:The bit where he is called over to open the doors could be adapted for that so it's a last minute hack while he is trying to do something else and then he gets shot by the stormtrooper.
Wait, are you saying he shouldn't be called over to open the doors? or he IS called over to open the doors then also hacks the gunners to shoot down the TIEs (or whatever they are)? I think the latter would make more sense...well...I guess I don't like the idea of cutting out the little bit of dialouge we have from Han or Liea...
I was suggesting they call him over to open the doors and while he is attempting to do that the TIE Bombers attack so he hacks the weapons systems (Hooray!) and then gets shot (Boo!) leaving Han with no other option than to try and hotwire the door.
Another lovely mockup there Angel.
Thanks for clarifying, Bingowings. Yeah, this is what I'm thinking too.
Angel! I love the two new shots! I've also been wondering: is there anything you can do to the Rancor? You know...making it look less...fake?
I can't wait til Adywan starts on ROTJ...can't you just imagine the arguments and debates? ;)
