I would be curious to here some people’s issues with ROTJ. I know this has been discussed pretty thoroughly countless times. I have a feeling as more prequel kids have grown up and are now more active on this site, perhaps there might be more people who like these aspects of ROTJ. But I still think it would be worth playing around with a ROTJ edit that tries to address these major complaints, as if the original trilogy was the only Star Wars that we ever got.

I could spend A LOT of time talking about my issues with this film. 😉
Aside from the points that get brought up a lot, one thing I would look at is playing around with the pacing of scenes on Endor. You can play up the fact that Leia is missing for a bit (after the chase). Cut down certain shots to remove goofy expressions. Change the music to insert some tension. This was something I made a long time ago but I still like the ideas behind some of the changes I made (even if most of them are poorly executed…or I would continue to developed further):

 • Han stepping on a twig, thus alerting the trooper to his presence, was incredibly lazy storytelling. I like my change to the scene, but it was mostly for fun. I feel like something else should trigger the troopers instead.
 • Adding as much believability to our main heroes’ actions is a must.
 • Playing around with the Leia and Wicket scenes helps address why she just pops up in the Ewok village out of nowhere.
 • Generally, I liked what I did to the Han/Luke “Where’s Leia?” scene. It adds more tension and just…it heightens everything a bit more to where one might sit up and pay more attention.
 • Just cutting down the humor…or at least allowing it to happen at more strategic times will help quite a bit.
 • Ignor the Vader/Palps scene at the end…I didn’t do anything to it. 😛

Small details that took you FOREVER to notice in the Star Wars films
Time

I just thought this was interesting to think about: In this shot, Liam Neeson had to act as if he somehow quickly hooked his lightsaber onto his belt…when, in reality, he just dropped it onto the ground. 😛

OK, an actual “small detail” I never noticed until a week or two ago (also involving Liam Neeson):

You’ll need to go frame by frame to see it. As he whips his lightsaber out, his robes move in such a way as to indicate that Liam had the entire thing, blade and all, underneath his robes.

Info: Nvidia RTX Voice for Music Removal

Ok so this might be a dumb question, but is there any possible way to enhance the audio from ANH using AI. The dialogue for much of the film sounds like its coming out of a tin can. Particularly during the floating droid training scene when Luke says “You mean it controls your actions?”. I don’t know, it’s just always really bothered me.

I mean is this what this program can be used for? Or just music removal?

I don’t really think it’s used for that. Other than additional EQ-ing I don’t know what can be done for the dialogue in ANH…it’s driven me nuts for years. I’m NOT an expert but, I mean, couldn’t they at least bring it up to ESB quality?

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I just wanted to echo what everyone else has said. This definitely sucks, Adywan.

I also wanted to say I loved hearing the disco music along side the clips…it took me back to the early days of your edit! 😃

These clips are looking sweet! I haven’t seen any edit where the jump cuts look this seamless! So good!
And yeah, the new Falcon reveal looks fantastic!

This post has given me the brilliant idea of adding the sound of a vacuum cleaner to the end scene in the council chamber, thus explaining the absence of seats.

That’s an interesting thing that I’ve never heard anyone address. Is it because those Jedi who held those seats died at Geonosis? Obviously Spanky McCone-Head survived…but that wasn’t for sure until ROTS.
