Get ready for "Star Wars - Shroud of the Sith", a radical fan edit of "The Phantom Menace"

Also, I’m looking for a new music piece for the death of QGJ (as in, the moment he is stabbed). The piece I currently have is a bit too harsh for my liking. And the original music piece doesn’t fit well with the cuts I’ve made, and nothing I’ve attempted to use has really impacted me in the way I’m wanting from the scene.

I used the first few seconds of “the stormtroopers” from ANH for the drum beat. Then I used the one where Anakin kills the tusken raiders, maybe try “anakin’s dark deeds” from ROTS for qui-gon’s death and continue to use it for the montage of the Gungans losing as well as Padme being arrested. Then have the exciting part of the music build when Obi-Wan gets angry and the force field shuts down

Smithers' Prequel Fanedits (a Work In Progress)

Just watched the preview, and I like a lot of your ideas! One thing I would suggest with the Jedi council scene is to cut away from Qui-Gon when he gives the edited line “Obi-Wan will train him”, just because it’s a bit jarring to hear the line and watch Qui-Gon’s lips move differently. Just pick a random clip of one of the council members reacting to something and use that over the line. Should work quite nicely 😃

That would be fine, I’ll just use a shot of Obi-Wan being surprised 😃

If you want to keep their reactions, you could try something like this

Yeah that would actually be easier, I’ll try it out. Thanks for the preview!

“Are you an angle” is better dialogue than in TPM

I’ve never thought of Star Wars for it’s dialogue.

Then what do you appreciate about the prequels? All the characters do is sit around and talk the entire movie!

I’m sorry but you’re not making sense

The majority of the time in the PT, the characters spend their time sitting and/or walking and talking, if you never thought of the dialogue in star wars then how do you even like the PT? Do you just skip the the saber fights or something?

You know the only problem I’ve had with AOTC was Anakin vs Dooku because it was supposed be a bit longer I think. Wish it was more longer

Yep, that’s the film’s biggest flaw…

if only it was longer well still better than Vader vs Luke in empire though.

Yeah, sure

I agree with Dek about John Wayne, he plays the same character in every movie and the new version of True Grit has a way better lead. I’ve never really been a western fan so maybe I just don’t “get it” but all of John Wayne’s and Clint Eastwood’s films are pretty much the same, I’ve never cared for them (don’t hate me).

The Jungle Book (2016): 9/10

This really blew me away, most of the CGI was flawless. The animals were all cast perfectly. My only complaint is that Mowgli was pretty bad at acting a few times, but that’s probably due to talking to a tennis ball most of the time.

Shere Khan was one of the best villains in a kids’ movie ever, he was truly intimidating and you understand why Mowgli hates him so much.

Highly recommended, very good adaptation of the original cartoon.

Star Wars Prequels 35mm 4K Filmized Editions by Emanswfan (a WIP)

Short of completely replacing the background with a model or something, I doubt there’s really any way to make majority of AOTC look like anything less than actors standing in front of a greenscreen with a cgi backdrop.

True, but IMO this version looks even worse. No offense to emanswfan who has made some extremely promising screenshots, I just think this one doesn’t work.

You should check out the Organic Eggs fanedit of TASM. It re-incorporates a lot of missing scenes and stuff that was cut for reshoots.

I honestly don’t understand Marc Webb as an editor. Both of his Spider-man movies suffer from too much cutting and reshoots. Both films were perfectly fine in their original form but then he’d go back and reshoot entire sections and cut out most of the good character motivations/moments. It felt like he was trying to sabotage his own films but it’s more likely he suffered from heavy studio interference.

I’ve seen it before, I just don’t have it anymore. I watched the theatrical version today because I was bored and because I’ve been thinking of doing my own radical edit of it. I’m eagerly awaiting Nimibro’s version of the two films.

Prequel toys are still being made. And unless things have changed fairly recently, prequel characters still appear in the theme parks.

Before TFA, everywhere I went I’d see ROTS cardboard cutouts with Lava and the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel propped up everywhere near the toys/games section. Now all of that sort of stuff has either been changed to OT characters (Darth Vader, R2D2, C3P0, Yoda, Luke, Leia, Han) or simply Kylo Ren. Even the new gum packaging only has OT characters on them. That’s pretty much what I meant, of course you can still buy PT stuff but almost all of their focus at the moment is post-PT like the comic books and novels.

The Amazing Spiderman (2012): C+

Every time I watch the amazing spiderman movies my opinion changes, they’re such a mixed bag. The movie really starts to fall apart in the third act when Dr. Connors becomes “crazy” for no apparent reason and wanted to turn everyone into Lizards. I wish they kept the villain relatable and not ridiculous.

On the other hand, the romance is good, the drama is great and there are many fantastic scenes sprinkled throughout. The movie really is a mixed bag
