In the dinner scene, I think you should really find a way to cut “I don’t want to you to race it’s awful I die every time you do it,” because that line is Tommy Wiseau levels of bad.

I like to keep the emphasis on “Watto makes you” because in my edit you’ll want to sympathise for Anakin, he’s forced into supporting his mother

I don’t know how I feel about the montage of the clone army. I feel like when you start showing the clones, you shouldn’t cut back to the senate. If it’s necessary to make the timing work, I think you should at least put clapping audio when you cut to those 2 Vurk.

I’ll try clapping sounds and the music is also too loud in that scene. I like to show the Senate approving Palpatine’s decision

Here’s a preview clip of a few scenes from my TPM edit. It will contain these scenes (note that these are a proof-of-concept, not finished products):
-Darth Maul lands on Tatooine (new music and new footage from fan film)
-The dinner scene (rearranged and rescored)
-Leaving Tatooine (added deleted scene, rescored and trimmed fight to remove confusing close up shots)
-Meeting on coruscant (Qui-Gon says “Obi-Wan will train him” rather than taking on Anakin himself, -Mace Windu states that the Queen has already left and orders the Jedi to follow her to Naboo in secret, Amidala is shown leaving)
-Senate meeting from AOTC (Palpatine is elected chancellor, Jar Jar is redubbed, and a montage of -the clone army is shown)
-Jedi on the blockade (Neimoidans redubbed, Qui-Gon says “this dispute” rather than “trade dispute”)
-Qui-Gon’s death (rescored, trimmed, and rearranged)
-Finale (rescored with the Shadow of the Empire OST and trimmed to exclude Gungans)

Many sound effects are missing from these clips because they are very rough, give me your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!

On another note, I’ll soon be recording all of Anakin’s dialogue once I buy a shotgun microphone. The young actor whom I’m working with has experience doing school plays, commercials, etc. and I think he’ll do great in the part.

TFA is nearly equal with ROTJ, but it has more of a sense of fun and adrenaline, which makes it an easier watch.

Agreed, there’s nothing bad about TFA overall whereas ROTJ has some pretty bad parts (Ewoks, “I’ve always known”, “A certain point of view”, etc.) I still love ROTJ but I don’t think TFA has anything that bad or stupid, we have nitpicks but it’s a good movie overall

I’ve never read any EU outside of the Thrawn trilogy (not because I don’t want to, but because I can never find any pre-PT EU at bookstores here)

That said, if a Google search is anything to go off of, I’d say Starkiller easily.

Same here, although I bought splinter of the mind’s eye before reading the Thrawn Trilogy but that’s it

I like the enders game movie! It’s almost word-for-word to the book save for a few subplots being removed and an underdeveloped relationship between Ender and his siblings.

The hobbit movies on the other hand are a mixed bag, part 1 spends way too much time doing absolutely nothing, the second one is pretty good save for a few really dumb moments and the third one is a bloated cgi-filled mess with tensionless action. Watch spence’s version, it solves all of my issues with it
