Any favorite Star Wars scenes?
Time

I was watching the scene in Ben's house where they were watching Princess Leis's holographic message.  There was a small moment after where Ben stops staring into space and looks over at Luke, Luke did the same and looks over at Ben.  Then Ben tells Luke he should learn the ways of the Force.

I love the fact that Hirsh, Lucas and Chew cut the scene to seem real, to allow Luke and Ben some thought before moving on with the scene.

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)

hehe..

The actually looked very good.  I think it had enough color without being too much color.  The 'balance' that everyone was clamouring over seems to be there in the latest batch.  Are the characters just a touch tan?  Sure, but as you metioned, Luke has lived in the desert all his life and Han is probably outside hauling around contraband on Tatooine and other places in the Corperate Sector, so his tan works as well.  And it probably helps him get the ladies.

I wouldn't mind seeing these as the final colors as well.  To me they look very good.

Like I always say, the garbage mates shouldn't be there because they are a mistake created by the video transfer, not the original cinematography.

I tend to agree.  There is a difference between preserving the film versus preserving the video.  I don't ever remember seeing boxes around the fighters in the theater. I'm guessing some people did, but I think that they shouldn't have been visible in a properly configured projection.  Just because early video transfers exposed some things that wouldn't have been seen in the theater, doesn't mean that those artifacts are worth preserving on later, better home videos.

What is your bidding, my master?

OK here is what I have been messing with compared to what DrM's suggestions look like after processing, now I know everyone and there brother bitches about the skin tones, hell I do to at times, but I find it hard to believe that Luke wouldn't have 1 hell of a tan(or even sun burn LOL) living out in a desert, and Han clearly has a tan because you can see the difference between his neck and face compare to his chest, well anyways here is what they look like, now keep in mind again as usual, THESE ARE NOT FINAL, it is just tweaking.

The new Dr. M 'tweaked' ones still seem to have a 'dirty' cast on the fleshtone, although not as extreme as the old one above.  Luke doesn't look healthy.

Why do female homosexuals get a cool word like "lesbians" while the males get stuck with....what?  Gay?  That applies to females too.  Why don't the guys get a unique word too?

No gay-bashing answers to that question, plz.

"Gay" used to be used in terms of happy. Context wise it's like if the word "Jolly", "excited", or "fantastic" was used instead. It's just been malformed due to misuse and, insult usage to take away a lot of it's initial meaning.

I was telling one of my coworkers that they need to fix their tranny (what us cool guys used to call a automobile's transmission), and some of the younger kids laughed at me.  Dadgum whippersnappers!

Avatar picture suggestion thread
Time

No, not a thread about that 3D movie that I still haven't seen.

It's more of a sister thread for the Lurkers Name Suggestion thread.  Too many members don't have avatars, or they are blurry or they just suck, so I'm making this thread for suggestions on replacing that grey silhouette.

Yeah the one trooper when they're talking about the new BT-16, I like the one trooper's response, "Yeah some of the other guys were telling me about about it, they say it's...it's quite a thing to see."

Yeah that was a good. It made the stormtroopers more relate able than just canon fodder for rebels.

"You seen that new BT-16?"

"Yeah some of the other guys were telling me about it. They say its quite a thing to see."

"What was that?"

"Its nothing, outgassing, don't worry about it."

The original trilogy had some of the best background acting ever. Its what makes it the greatest movies ever made. Giving lines to Stormtroopers was a brilliant move.

fixed!

Replayed it over and over and high volume and I don't hear it as outgassing. Still sounds like top gassing. Then I play it at low volume and your right. Its outgassing. Something to do with the exhaust port I bet.

Thanks for the pickup.

Your ears can deceive you, don't trust them.  What do the scripts say?  And don't the DVD's have optional subtitles?
