Grey Boxes ~or~ People who need Avatars

We need to do something with all of these grey boxes.  CO, SomethingsomethingDarkSide, and Davis... you're on my list!

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Let's kill them.  For reals.  Feed them to sarlacc, pull them back out, and beat them with heavy sticks.  And then throw them back in.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming... Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

That's a little more extreme than what I was thinking (I was going to get them avatars for Christmas) but I think I can go with it.

Whoa, Gaffer Tape, OT.com's resident "Keeper of the Peace" is suggesting genocide as a solution to our annoying "grey box" problem that has been plaquing the site since the software update. Well, if Gaffer is cool with it then I am in.

I'm sorry, but this is a problem that must be dealt with swiftly and with the highest severity.  No mercy.  They have two hours to comply, and then let the beating/devouring begin!

So where does one sign up to give the beat downs?  I've got my sock full of nickels right here.  And I put some horse-shoes in my boxing gloves.  I'm good to go.

I recently had Jay reset avatars for those members who had '404' images (this fixed the 'horizontal white line problem').

If you could post your suggested images for those who you think should have avatars, I might be able to talk Jay into making the relevant profile adjustments. I can't dick around with amend user profiles myself, unfortunately.

Good!  We'll probably need some for the unholy deed we're about to commit.  Are there any younglings we can take out along the way?

Forget it?  Never.  It's part of what makes your argument so compelling!

Ah, who am I kidding?  It's the only reason I read your posts, let alone foolishly follow you into with all of these idealistic crusades you embark upon!

Sluggo, you have your sock and gloves and I have my Master Replicas lightsabre off the shelf... now we just need an actual Sarlacc pit...

Maybe there should just be some sort of really embarrassing avatar (instead of a generic avatar), used as the default. That way, people will change it as soon as possible, rather than putting it off too long.

I suggest the following bad avatars:

Jar Jar Binks

Young Anakin

Anakin <3 Padme

Teletubbies

I <3 the PT

Fat Dancer

Lolcatz

Richard Simmons

If you want this thread to deliver, you're going to have to make it easier for Jay than just a list of suggestions.

I'm looking for username + proposed JPG, PNG or GIF 100x100px image (<5KB).

For example:

Something, something, something, Dark Side ->
