ROTS a kind of AOTC 2.0?
Time
I think that there are a third of the list of parallels are legit. Things like romantic dialogue are a necessary part of the story if you have two people who are in love. It doesn't mean Lucas is re-doing it. Other things like Obi-wan's actions on Geonosis and Mustafar are legitamate parallels. I think that Lucas is liking concept that he felt worked in one movie and plugging them into another. He has been reusing ideas from the beginning. A New Hope originally had Luke checking out the Star Destroyer battle from the surface of Tatooine. This of course was cut, but Lucas brought the scene back for the beginning of Empire with the probe droid. If you want to talk about re-using and remaking ideas, Jedi is much more of a re-make of A New Hope than Revenge is a remake of Clones.

Just trying to give some fresh ideas. I'd make them myself but I don't have any of that kind of software.

I tried this a while ago, but I never had logos for the movie titles that I was satisfied with. I also had problems with finding the right faces. The original faces set had only masks and puppets on them, so I didn't feel good about using Maul or Dooku. I'd probably use a Episode 2 clonetrooper for the Episode 2 cover (mirroring the Empire cover), maybe Grievous on the ROTS one and, well, maybe Maul for the TPM one. He is so Iconic.

I think the other problem I had was that while I had the faces discs to put in the faces covers, I didn't have anything in a prequel collection. There just aren't the dozen prequel transfers like there are the of the classic trilogy.

Unfortunately, it's not just something you do in one day!

I've been lurking around for a while now, but allow me to say that I'm really impressed with what I have seen from you guys so far. At least someone know how to get these changes right!

is how Burtt made the languages of the OT. They are just many random words from many random languages. I think it was only Nein Nunb that actually spoke a whole African dialect.

I am not sure about giving up voices from the Passions. On the one hand, thier voices were really menacing, but on the other, I'd prefer not to have something in there that would take me out of the movie. Remember Greg Proops's line of "That's gotta hurt!" It took me right out of the film. I can't speak for others, but words like Allah and Nazerath would be sticking out for me even if I didn't know what movie they were lifted from. But that's just me.

I noticed this too. I also noticed a few instances where they also used the word messiah or 'meshiach' if you want to get technical. Rather distracting.

ROTJ Script help
Time
Jambre,
I wish it did. Good idea though. I found a few call sheets on the net which might help. Currently, I am trying to figure out whether the sub-plot of the Death Star trying to destroy the moon of Endor that is discussed in the novel was actually in the shooting script. This is tricky as the novel is the only evidence I have so far. A photo or storyboard would be helpful here.

I hadn't thought of it like that, but you are right. Continuity isn't as jumbled. And who wouldn't like to see two Death Stars?

ROTJ Script help

I hadn't seen those last two pages, but it is more of the same stuff. A fake and a public draft.

I actually have been spending all of my glorious free-time at work today working on it. I am about 3/5ths done with the structure. The battle over the Sarlaac is the thing that is giving me the most trouble now.

The novelization by James Kahn is immensely helpful. It seems to indicate that:

1. The book was written off of the shooting script based on how nicely (and unexpectedly) it dove-tails with the scene break-down in the Making of the Return of the Jedi book.

2. The dialogue in the movie was nearly always a match to the novel, and by extension, the shooting script.

I have also come under the impression that the scripts on the net labeled 'revised second draft' and 'third draft' are simply re-worked versions of the published, public draft (published in the Art of the Return of the Jedi and in the Annotated Screenplays. These re-worked drafts (especially the forged two different revised second drafts) take scenes that had been published in outside sources, such as the sandstorm sequence, and dropped them in where they belonged originally.

The fake scripts also have re-incorperated into them many of the Urban Legends of Star Wars, such as the false idea that the Lando and the Falcon didn't escape the Death Star in time. Another version that some fan likely put together has Han dying as well, being wounded instead of Leia at the bunker.

So, I am fairly confident I can piece together a reasonable facsimilie of this lost script. I ought to be at least able to get the scenes in the right order. I would just like to make sure the dialogue is as correct as it can be. This is where I could use help finding story boards and call sheets. For instance, these call sheets have been very helpful:

Feel free to chime in with your 2¢. Boo Yah!

ROTJ Script help

Any script experts out there? I am trying to reconstruct the shooting script of ROTJ and I am afraid I can only get so far with this. I am using the data from The Making of the Return of the Jedi book by Peecher as the backbone of the project and am adding on to that. Do any of you folks know if this project has been completed by anyone else yet? About every script I have seen on the net for Jedi is a fake. Aside from the published Public draft, are there any other authentic ones out there? I could also use related storyboards with scene numbers on them as well as call sheets. Any help you guys could lend would be appreciated. Hoo-ha!

The Chosen One would be a cool title, although it sounds funny as Episode One: The Chosen One.

It might not fit here, but I'd like to see one of these edits be called The Dark Times.

I like the idea of the Egyptian influence on the Neimodians. Besides, I know that Nute and the rest of those guys's hats (diadems) are modeled after Egyptian ones. On the subject of the Egyptians and slavery as we have mentioned, are we talking about the Neimodians trying to enslave the Gungans? Could make things real interesting.

I was watching the TPM trailer this morning and remembered the buzz I got with the "Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi-wan Kenobi" line. That's how this scene ought to play out.

And lastly, the end of the cut scenes documentary on the TPM bonus disc has extra footage of the space battle and more Darth Maul fight footage. Are you planning on using that?
