The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread
Time
I am actually looking forwards towards the edit of ROTJ the most.

It seems that the leadership of the Ranch is in transition and no one really has stepped to run the thing. And since it is a group effort, I'd imagine we wouldn't want or necessarily need one single editor, but instead have a few folks editing video (but not until we can agree on source material, output format, aspect ratio and all the technical items. It would be great to have a set script in place, assign footage out to members to edit and then have a master editor combine all the clips and audio into one film. [knock-on-wood]It shouldn't take too long to finish a film that way.[/knock-on-wood]

I know erikstormtrooper has been good at assembling notes etc. I'd nominate him as Ranch Manager, if such a thing is appropriate.

No worries, of course. I figured it would have been something akin to this. Any chance we could see the full crawl as a bonus feature with a Korngold temp track?

You remember this Trooperman quote from a year back...
My second point is that this is by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, whose music was the inspiration for John Williams AND George Lucas as well. This is a little known fact, but George Lucas bought an album called "The Sea Hawk", a recording of Korngold's film music by Charles Gerhardt, and it was this that inspired him to request the same type of score from J. Williams- he even mentioned "The Sea Hawk" in the conversation.

The main title music I have used comes from this same album that was the original inspiration in the first place.

And finally, it's very possible that this was actually the main title theme used in the original TEMP TRACK for Star Wars- notice the similarity to the original Star Wars theme.

I enjoy Bond movies, and have seen them all, many more than once. However, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Never Say Never Again, and A View to A Kill I have made a vow to myself to never ever watch again. Might be another one on that list, but I can't think of it right now.

Diamonds Are Forever? or Moonraker?

Can someone just look at these two photos - these were posted back in March 07 in the OCPMovie CE 2.0 thread.

This photo:

Maybe my monitor isn't calibrated or something, and this isn't a suggestion nor am I trying to delay the movie, BUT which version of this shot is more or less the correct one?

Again, maybe my monitor is just not calibrated correctly or maybe it is an old version of his work - but in one version the colours look un-naturally saturated and the other looks well natural?

Thanks and once more I AM NOT A TROLL just wondering for clarification.

These pictures were just to show some of the processing artifacts inherent in the OCP version. If you look at the black in Vader's cape and helmet, it shows the 'original' and the Adywan version don't suffer as badly from the encoding.

And do we really need to be flooding this thread with this Yoda discussion? You guys should take this to the General Star Wars area. I really appreciate Ady's dedication to do this right. We should let him do his work without the distraction.
