Well, I guess I had better get my PiF chain started...
Any takers?

Yeah, I read the first few pages but idk If I have the patience to read all 76. One thing I'd like to know is if Trooperman still plans to use music from other series like 2001 and Star Trek. That would not be a good thing IMO since Star Wars music is Star Wars and if you can recognize music from elsewhere it sort of takes you out of the Star Wars universe IMO. Idk if Trooperman already answered this.
Hey was using some tracks from Blade Runner, but he was mainly using classical pieces as well.
Erik, you are a sick s.o.b.
Willow: The complete saga? That is alternate universe.

I think you ought to take a crack at it. I (and I am sure others here as well) can assist with some freeware to get you started. Put together a few smaller projects (like trailers) for fun and to hone some skills. I've been teaching myself some tricks here and there in preperation for some projects of my own.
Seriously, if you want a project done right, don't farm it out to someone else unless you downright can't do it.
Just my 2 cents.
True. Remember how exciting the making of Episode 1 documentary was? All that footage of Jake Lloyd auditions!!!! YEEE HAWW!!!
Darth Solo said:What! Enterprise! Imperial alligence? Perhaps theres another story there (oh god, damn the repercussions of even suggesting that here!).
I like starlight mint ice cream and I like calamari, but there is no way I would mix them together.
I think I was mis-quoted.
I think you guys are right. I don't think he will remaster the theatrical versions either, unless he follows the standard that is being set with other movies box sets. It is becoming a bit more popular to issue the theatrical version along with a directors cut.
If the folks at Lucasland can release a $4000 box of pictures in a 2 foot wooden crate, then they are capable of thinking about making something "just for us obsessive types".
Best case scenario? I think it will be only a box set, probably in only one format, hopefully blue-ray. Because of the resolution of Blueray, the OOT will need a new transfer. I think that LFL will generally learn from its mistakes and give us a pretty good anamorphic transfer with decent audio. The films will look really good, but really won't be cleaned up. It will likely be a new film transfer, but still have the scratches and other defects.
Each movie will have 2 discs. For the prequels, we will get the "Theatrical Editions" and the "Director's Cut". The directors cut of AOTC and ROTS will likely be edited to include references to events in the new Clone Wars movie. For the original trilogy, we get the OOT transfer and the latest SE. The '97 SE's are lost to history, you won't see them again. Then there will be new bonus discs, one for the prequel trilogy and one for the classic trilogy. The documentaries will be full of 'revisionist history', but will also have a decent collection of deleted scenes.
That's my best case scenerio.
But the Amish use fire, right? It wouldn't be totally useless.
If they really wanted to do this release right, they would stop producing anything EU after it is released.
Seriously, this work is going to be out-dated once the TV series gets on the air. If anyone wants to spend the hundred bucks only to spend it again later with subsequent updates, be my guest.
Johnny Ringo said:I'm actually interested in this but the overblown pricetag means I wont bother. Now if there's a bit of info on each 'select' frame and maybe some anecdotes it might be a worthy flick through but if it is purely images then it feels like a bit of a cash grab...Even at 1/10 the price I'd really have trouble justifying it.
I'm sure people WILL see it as an investment and it'll sell out well enough, I guess it's one of those things that's just NOT for everyone.
Might be a perfect gift for the Amish. They can practically see the whole movie without electricity.
Personally, I am happy with my edits and official DVDs. Buying a set of movie stills seems completely pointless. One may argue that these will be worth buying because these books are 'highly collectable' and signed by George and all of that, but why couldn't they make something rare and interesting?
My collection of Marvel comics has 107 issues in it.
THat's my kind of deal.
It just looks like the saber handle had a glow added to it when it was re-rotoscoped for the SE.
It doesn't look like motion blur.
Ugh. EU overload. I was much happier before I knew who Mara Jade was or what yogmash is.
It will sound like the porcelin calling the fine china white, but if anyone reads all three of these, they are a first-class dork.
This new movie is how George should have done the PT. Just a quickie cartoon, and then they are forgotten.
Ziz said:Ok, in an attempt to help not only Ady with this but everyone else, and to give everyone a common frame of reference (in more ways than one) I whipped up this shot by shot comparison of the SE and GOUT Wampa sequences. The frame grabs aren't perfectly time-synced, but rather just to illustrate which shot we're talking about. I've also numbered them, with SE specific shots given sub-letter designations.
SE is on the left, GOUT is on the right.
GOUT3 and GOUT15 were flat-out replaced.
I'm guessing that SE7a is either an insert into the middle of GOUT7, splitting it into two shots (SE7 and SE7b) or that SE7b is a repeat of the end of GOUT7. My machine can't handle running two videos in parallel to compare them exactly. I'm sure Ady or someone else can give a definitive answer.
As for MJPollard's suggestion, maybe SE23a can be salvaged by matting in a section of the arm from SE15 to solve the shoulder/elbow issue?
What is the deal with the lightsaber handle in picture #20?
TM,
I have some time set aside next week to get the rest of those lines dubbed. Sorry it is taking so long. Real life has kicked me in the hind-quarters lately.
Interesting. This one could be pretty cool if done right. Keep us posted.
I am still working on this set.
Interesting suggestion. Removing the line might increase the tension whether or not if Han survives.
One of the guys I did a PiF with has a few he can send your way if you live in the States. If that 'darthtron' guy doesn't come through, I can get something arranged.

I don't, I'm afraid. That pic is the best I have.
Ditto on what Akwat Kbrana said.
One of the reasons that Episode II fails so bad for me is that it was supposed to be the prequel counterpart of the Empire Strikes Back. The last time I watched Episode II years ago, all I could think of was how much better they did it in Empire. The romance, the asteroid chase, the ground battles with the walkers, etc.
