I hate the yub yub ending. The SE is way better. The music is great and we see more which is needed.

Let me guess your under 20, right? Most young people love the 04' SE DVDs, most 40+ who remember the OUT as it was when we saw it IN PERSON, AT THE THEATER, prefer the OUT more. Or at least certain parts of it more....like the original ROTJ ending...

The SE music is LAME. It doesn't even keep to the tempo the people and ewoks are dancing to.

But this is all a mute argument. I respect Ady's decisions and choices for HIS edit....this is just one I don't happen to agree with...

However, the improvements to picture quality and getting rid of the 04 SE slave backup singers will more than make up for it....

I am under 20 yes but I grew with the pre SE ending and liked it but then saw the SE ending for the first time and realized that the old ending was weaker IMO. I like the new music so much it makes feel like the end of a saga IMO.

The music for the SE is one of the few things I like about it.  No more of the damned Yub yub.  And I am in my mid 30's.

I am not trying to pick a fight or stirr up any trouble, but why would the tempo of the ending music matter.  It isn't source music.   Only the audience is listening.

The MR was taken from the original Episode III mold so this is entirely accurate to the last detail as to that which Hayden wore on screen:

Is that true about the lenses as well?  They look flat.  The ones from the originals were rounded.

Pics here: http://aptirrelevance.com/otscreenshots/screenshots.php?shot=8

Note also that the 'cheek-bones' are different on the old one.  One slants upwards and the other slopes downwards.

I think this request might need a new thread. What do you think?

Anyway, thanks for such a detailed update. Have fun in college. I didn't know you were that young. Haha.

Yeah, yeah, rub it in!  I'm only 18....

Yes, I'll have a lot of fun at college I'm sure.  I'll give you a hint as to which one I'm going to...they just won a big game tonight.

That narrows it down to about 64 schools.

Jumping in...

I don't know how much I have contrubuted to the delay, but I am a guilty as anyone here for the delay.  I, with a little help from my friends, did a lot of the dialogue and I volunteered to do a lot more when I had more free time, but that quickly evaporated.  I started working 65 hour work weeks, I got married, divorced, moved a few times... it has been hell.

But I am in the last week of job number #2, so I will have time to record the missing Dooku dialogue.  As far as Jar Jar goes, I wasn't able to get any friends to step in and get it done.  Someone else might have to step up for that one.

TM, don't worry about turning over the project.  Real life always needs to come first.  Besides, you might be half my age, but have demonstrated twice the skill of most editors here on the board.  The workprint I saw of SOTDS was really promising.

Help Wanted: Project To Collect All Star Wars Documentaries
Time

As much as I like the SW docos, I think i'd be more interested in a master documentary with all of the footage from various sources in order of the film.  Yeah, kind of like Deleted Magic, but dealing only with documentary footage.  My dream version would have at least 3 audio tracks.  1 track with just the production audio, the second with the documentary narrator and maybe a third with a crew audio commentary.

...And then there's various & sundry auctions for SW press kits, with promo slides that'd be easy to scan. (B&W prints have always been scannable, but the quality is limited to 256 shades of gray). All, or a lot of those, are probably on various web sites, but seldom(?) at very high rez.

It would be great to see these preserved as well.  I'd love to see these on an interactive DVD-ROM.
