I was helluva disappointed by the freakish Jabba in IV and Greedo shooting first...I was perplexed by some of the changes, like the Sarlacc tongue. Funny, if I think what I hated the most about the SE, it would be the Sarlacc tongue. Made the Sarlacc less of a bloated dirty giant parasite and more into a generic alien. Well to me anyway.

Yeah, that Sarlaac change is messed up.  I see the reason for the change: A big hole in the ground isn't very menacing.  Still.. is a beak the answer?  It just didn't work for me.

I see where you are coming from.  But it seems that in the 150m version, the average person wouldn't be the same height as the cockpit window.  The models and the interior seem to have a window of maybe 1 meter.  The line drawing looks like the window is closer to 2 meters.

To me, it just feels like it should be closer to 120.

I think I know why you feel that, the side view of the cockpit is deceptive. The shape you see in there is not the window but the red "missing" part surrounding the window. I made a little front view of the head section to show you better the proportion between the surrunding shape I mentionned, the window and a human, and I compared the different approaches:

As you can see the 75m and the 300 m scales just don't feel right, the 150 m version is pretty much ok with the 1 m window, don't you think?

The 150m one works.  I think the 120m feels a bit better for me.  I appreciate all the work and thought you have put in to this.

you can see below a 150 m Tantive as portrayed above:

What do you think guys?

This seems too big to me.  I may be totally wrong, but it seems like all the composite shots are too inconsistent to be relied on that heavily.   Another possibility may be to try to judge the size of the ship based on the interior corridors.  The droids are a consistent size as are the escape pods and the spacing of the pod hatches in the ship.  I don't know if that approach would be helpful or not.

And yet Warbler is back.   Ziggy got banned because he had a mental breakdown and posted obscenities in EVERY thread on the site.  And we don't need to get into AWK.

"The site is also notorious for its handful of extremely vulgar and disrespectful members, who enjoy tormenting sensitive people and people who disagree with them and running them off the site, and its corrupt moderator, Moth3r, who abuses his power and encourages all the offensive behavior on the site. Such victims of these actions are Warbler, Adamwankenobi, ZigFried, and many others.

Several complaints about Originaltrilogy.com were sent to the Internet Police Corporation known as ICANN, and they are currently looking into either cleaning up the site's dirty act, or simply shutting it down."

And since Moth3r found this, I nominate him as the winner of this contest.  If ICANN hasn't hauled his butt off to... somewhere.

My favorite part of this post is the fact that Moth3r, Warbler, Zig and AWK are treated like household names.  Nobody here with that kind of credentials among Star Wars fans.  Although I think one or two of us may be getting close.

The whole of shot 2 is terrible.

The landscape looks more like butterscotch Ice Magic than sand.

That reminds me, I haven't had dessert yet.

Has anyone written an EU story yet to justify this lousy shot of the Banthas being added to the film?  Wasn't there that one EU jedi who lived with the sandpeople?  You could write an awesome story of him living on Tatooine still and traveling to the pit of carcoon to help only to arive too late.  And he is killed by Boba Fett.

TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE - (Released)

Jason,

I watched the avi version last night.  I thought it was great.  I was really impressed with how the movie still moved at a pretty good click while having all of the clutter cut out.  The only thing I didn't really get was how Bumblebee started to chase Sam early in the movie.  It seemed like there was something missing.

I thought Soundwave and Star Scream sounded great.  The Shanghai opening sequence from TF2 made a great conclusion.

I can't wait for the final DVD.  Good job!

^There's also when Luke pours the blue milk: He takes a sip, then slowly lowers the cup away from his mouth.  In the next shot, he lowers it again.

I just found the biggest goof in the whole of Star Wars. When Ben and Luke are stopped by the Stormtroopers, Ben says "these aren't the droids you're looking for." But if you look closely, you'll see that they ARE the droids they're looking for! I can't believe no-one spotted this...

Brilliant!  I am so stealing that.
