Christmas Movie traditions
Time

xhonzi said:

Okay, so we all did it for Halloween... what are your Christmas Movie traditions?

We always watch Rudolph and the Island of Misfit toys about 100 times (that's 3 times a day between Thanksgiving and Christmas)  And to make matters worse, my kids have little animatronic dolls that repeat lines and songs from the movie.
Tim Allen's 3 Santa Clause movies.
My wife's favourite movie of all time: It's a Wonderful Life
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Muppett's Christmas Carol
Mr. Krueger's Christmas

They're almost all kids' or family movies.  Maybe I should add Die Hard to the rotation.  It's a Christmas movie, right?

I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting.

I get at least one particular of these in every year.  Jimmy Stewart is an awesome actor.  I seriously tear up every time.

"Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival." What was the point?

I hate the line in its current ESB SE spot, but I've never thought it sounded like anyone but James Earl Jones.  I don't know where people are getting that idea.

The line doesn't sound like JEJ to me.  It doesn't sound like Vader does in the rest of the original movie or like the new Vader lines recorded for the new dialogue with the Emperor for the 2004 release.

Petition for the Theatrical Cuts of the Original Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray
Time

I don't know if I want to sign it. Once the OOT is released on Blu-ray, then no-one will buy the next edition, which could be Adywan's someday. I feel that if Adywan can turn ROTJ into a four-star movie like ANH and ESB, why wouldn't he look into him to help with an Ultimate edition?

Lets get realistic here, GL will not realease just the OOT on Blu-ray. Just because a hundred people on a website ask for it doesn't mean its going to happen. His Blu-Ray DVD will be an Ultimate edition with more changes to it. Hopefully he takes the easy way out and hires Adywan.

Ghost, you are a sycophant.  Why are you posting in threads about the theatrical cut, anyway.   Take a hike, troll.

I love the idea of the petition.  I at least feel like I'm doing something to get the theatrical version of the OOT in a quality release.

Mp3 tags
Time

I once had a disc I burned myself show up in the data base later as the soundtrack for Star Trek III.  Sure enough, I checked online and my collection had the same number of tracks with the same length as the STIII soundtrack.

I use a program called AudioShell to adjust the names album information of my mp3 tags.  It works great.

Who could Uncle Owen hand a serious bare knuckle beating to?
Time

Haha!  But this isn't about me.  This is about Uncle Owen.

It's funny, when this thread first started, I thought about re-writing all of my Chuck Norris jokes to feature Owen Lars.

If you work in an office with Uncle Owen, don't ask for his three-hole punch.

Staring at Uncle Owen for prolonged periods of time will result in blindness and shoe-sized bruises to the face.

etc.

How Many Star Wars Related DVDs do you have- how do you keep up with them?
Time

I've got most of my stuff in storage.  I bet I had about 8 different sets of laserdisc transfers, tons of documentaries, half a dozen prequel edits, Droids and Ewok movies, Holiday Specials and on and on.  I must have had over 70 discs.  Each with a cover and a printed disc.  It took up a lot of space.   I had the babyhums in slim cases.  They looked good without taking up a ton of room.  I shelved most of them.  Now most of them are in my storage unit.

Now, I have my gouts; my Editdroid sets; my making of's by OCP, Jambe and daveytod; that one Adywan project; JasonN's prequel edits (in case I have friends over that want to watch a prequel); and MoveAlong's vinyl transfer DVD's and his The Lost Scenes disc.  That's all I need.  Only the gouts are official releases and even they have covers by Falle.  Everything has covers by Falle, Coov, Sluggo, the Editdroid guys or Adywan.  About 16 dvds.

And that's all I need until something better comes out.
