Warb, great signature!
I didn't post pictures of me when I posted here. Should I have?

Aye. A nice Jason and the Argonauts-style nod.
Is anyone planning to um, document the version in the theater? Granted, I don't really care about this 3D stuff, but it would be interesting to see if there are additional cuts or "fixes" that never make it onto blu-ray. I don't know if I trust the new "theatrical" version to be the same as the home release.
I know a lot of folks on here would be interested in the IMAX cut of AOTC, but it wasn't, you know, documented at the time.
I've been going over my old notes on the ROTJ scripts and wanted revisit the discussion on the switch in titles from Revenge of the Jedi to Return of the Jedi. I would like a place to collect all of the relevant information regarding the timeline and motives for this change. Mind you, I have misplaced my downloaded version of Secret History of Star Wars, so I can't remember what it had to say about it.
I was thumbing through Peecher's book and found something I'd like a little more clarity. On pages 55 and 56, we find a international press release that reads:
LUCASFILM LTD.
FOR RELEASE MONDAY, JANUARY 11, 1982
Contact: Sidney Ganis
Susan Trembly
Principle photography begins today (11) on REVENGE OF THE JEDI, the third film of the STAR WARS saga, at EMI Elstree Studios on the outskirts of London.
…
The same day, a teletex was sent to Fox announcing the production of the film:
ATTN: BOB GREBER
FROM: HOWARD KAZANJIAN
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT PRINCIPLE PHOTOGRAPHY HAS COMMENCED TODAY JANUARY 11TH, 1982 ON ‘RETURN OF THE JEDI’
Do we really know if Return was the intended title the whole time?
The "Gladiator" scene in AOTC should have featured one of the creatures from the space-chess game in the first Star Wars.
Why would anyone go to watch this in one of the select 2D theaters? And advertising a movie being in 2D seems like the epitome of redundancy.

I feel betrayed. If you guys splitscreened, I don't think I'll be able to go on.
Don't worry, Fink. I'd only splitscreen with theBoost.

Any news of Sir James Steady Employment, Comfy Cottage and Yearly Bonus?
What ever happened to.. oh, I don't know. Um.. Bossk? He had a boatload of posts back in the day.

Warb, did you like it? I heard it was excellent.
I can see where you are coming from, but I don't believe that is the case. Paul, in his epistles, always seemed to be warning of the dangers to the early Christian church as coming from within. Ultimately, my readings of the New Testament, especially the Pauline epistles, seem to be readying the disciples for the falling away as spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 before the eventual return of Christ.
That one did crack me up.
I get bothered that folks use a man's dying from cancer as a springboard to get all political.
At least we still have Eddie Money.

I'm not happy. Jack Black is in the new Muppet movie.
I'm not happy. This "Travel by Map" joke is awful.
I'm confused. It reminds me a lot of the script jokes in the first one but is a LOT less funny
....
I'm happy. Pepe the King Prawn is in it.
OK, kid. What's wrong with Jack being in the movie? He's just as wacky as Charles Grodin was in TGMC.
Meh.
