Well, the whole "plot" of the special involves Chewie getting home for Life Day. The things that involve the guest stars are things the Wookiee family do to basically keep busy while they wait for Han and Chewie. About all of those could be cut entirely or trimmed heavily.
I still love you Fink.
It seems that most of the bits with the guest stars could be pared down without too much loss.
And yes, I am aware that some of you don't like it. That's fine. We've got plenty of threads to discuss that elsewhere. I just want to kick around some ideas of maybe improving the thing. No matter what you cut, it will still be bad, but maybe it could be a bit less of a trainwreck.

Picture no worky.
Yeah, but then I thought there was a certain randomness to it not working, so I left it that way.
Lazy Sluggo was lazy.
If you work in an office with Chuck Norris, never ask for his three hole punch.

So how many more releases before the films become totally unrecognizable?
Easy punch recipe
Ingredients
- 4 (0.13 ounce) packages unsweetened strawberry-flavored drink mix powder
- 2 (46 fluid ounce) cans pineapple juice
- 3 cups white sugar
- 4 quarts water
- 2 liters ginger ale
Directions
I should have posted this:

in the last topic. I totally forgot pi is one of the special characters of the forum software.
Ah, nuts!
I'd respond, but then I couldn't see if I did. Maybe I'll send me a pm instead.

A couple rough test clips to have a look at.
In the original Star Wars, George Lucas intended to dub over Threepio with a sleazy used car salesman personality with a Joe Pesci brooklyn accent. We decided to do a little homage to that with this English dub mock up of Jar Jar Binks. The mix is still rough, some original Jar Jar sounds remain and one line is missing. This is more of a mock up to test the voice out.

And a mock up Dub giving the Viceroy a little European flair and giving Dofine an almost Skeletor sound to his voice. They still bare a slight resemblance to the original English dub. One of the Neimoidians is not dubbed and the sound mix is rough, not as smooth as the actual edit.
Just an experiment to see what people thing of seeing the characters speaking English.
Why did I wait so long to see those?! Very cool! If Jar Jar Pesci stays, he might become my favorite prequel character.
Seriously.
Cut it down to 60 minutes and it may not be all that bad.
I am MOSTLY sure I saw Star Wars in the drive-in with my brother and sister before I saw the Holiday Special. Darth Vader was scary.
I remember watching the Holiday Special with some cousins at my Grandma's house. I did a hand-stand against the couch during the cartoon when Han was being hung upside-down so I could see it correctly.
Sluggo is now ignoring Sluggo.

That is my understanding as well. Shortly after ESB was released in 80, the Episode IV tag and A New Hope were added to some published items, but weren't added to the film until the re-release.

Very kewl stuff. Does he do motion as well?
I don't know. He lurks the boards here once in a while, maybe he could chime in.
I've already cleared my schedule for the game tomorrow.
This is me, only slightly less hot:

Speaking of bonus points, are you actually tracking them or are you only sort of watching them to getting folks out of the pen?
Or just mail yourself a letter. That would leave you plenty of time.

You can't quote yourself for the best post of the thread. Only an egomaniac who thinks that they are...
nevermind.

...on the whole this is one of the most creative and supportive sites on the web and nothing like what threads like this one or the off topic section in general could lead people to believe.
I agree. The help I've received over the years where film audio is concerned has been a Godsend.
And while I'm at it, I can't imagine another site where I - a Star Wars 1977 Only Fan, Who Actually Prefers The NPR Radio Version - would be welcome. The occasional weird\overly silly\sometimes angry threads are just part of what makes this site unique. And we even have a fantasy baseball league.
;-)
This is my favorite post of the thread.
*high-five*
I've never been a 'sir-posts-a-lot' but it is fun to occasionally chime in to the serious and not so serious discussions, especially here in off-topic.
