Yes, I was fired, for the simple reason that I had an affair with Ken that resulted in Laci and Kelsy. The producers felt that having illegitimate children ruined my kiddy image, or at least that's what they told me. Personally I think that the big 'B' used her weight to me fired for the simple reason of snogging her boyfriend. It was all hushed up, since it would have resulted in bad rep with parents. Worst of all is that bastard Ken sued for cutody and won since he had a steady job. Mattel eventually hired the girls and I haven't seen them since. It hurts to talk about...

I, and yes that was me, was just making a point that it isn't a good idea to stick with a name that your central fan base can't pronounce correctly how you spell it isn't really the point (and I think baron got the closest although the r's aren't pronounced like r's).

Also of note, can sony or microsoft honestly say that the internet 'exploded' when they released the name of their console? Nintendo may have failed in naming 101 but they certainly got an A++ in business 101. Worldwide advertising for free. Think about it, even people that don't know anything about video games are going to run into a reference to it somewhere, cnn, slashdot, wherever. If you told them it was about the XBOX 360, they'd be all, whatever, its a new console, i don't care. But Wii? They're going to be all wtf? and look further into it, which is what nintendo WANTS.

Nintendo Revolution released official name of the Revolution Console today.

From Joystiq, GoNintendo, Kikizo, Ign, etc etc etc.

Introducing… Wii.

As in “we.”

While the code-name Revolution expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that seperates videogame players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games… and each other. But you’re probably asking: What does the name mean?

Wii sounds like “we,” which emphasizes the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

Wii has a distinctive “ii” spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people playing it. And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of videogames that sets it apart from the crowd.

So that’s Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because it’s really not about you or me. It’s about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything.


So, interesting move by ninendo. Given the ginourmous(only word that can aptly describe it) amount of pathetic potty jokes, it seems that the majority of the teenage male population doesn't like the name. Insert obligatory, "Lets all go play with my Wii-Wii" joke here. Overall the word seems to be: "Wii hates it! Wii hates it! Wii hates it forever!!!

Aside, what do you all think of the name? I have to say that after reading the design philosophy, I think that nintendo may be onto something. I mean iPod seemed a stupid name at first, and the name without any dirty connotations evokes and artsy feel to it, ie very nintendo.

wow how do you read more than one book at a time and keep all those stories straight! i normally only like reading one book at a time as i normally get really into them.


lol, I am the king of reading too many books too fast. Just ask shim. I usually have like 3 books on the go. One for home, one for school and one for the bus. It usually takes me about half a day to finish a novel. I'm not kidding. I do slightly over 100 pages an hour. I finished hobbit overnight. I finished LOTR in a day.
